Without mentioning his name, liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor took a veiled shot at President Trump on Thursday evening. During remarks at an event for the American Bar Association in DC, Sotomayor told lawyers in attendance to stand up and fight against unprecedented attacks.[Snip] Sotomayor’s comments come after Chief Justice Roberts on Wednesday evening rebuked President Trump AGAIN in a rare public appearance. This is the second time Roberts has publicly lashed out at President Trump in recent months.

Roberts is part of a very deep swamp. It's high noon for the lefty trash to be pushed out. Don't forget, this corrupt creep was several times on Epstein Island. Hmm, I guess he was reading the Bible out loud to the other 'guests'.

I read, long ago, that Roberts got the kids he adopted through Epstein. Is it true? I have no idea. Nor do I know how that would work. But yeah, he was involved with Epstein.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is a member of the Dark Side. He enjoys his new found friends in the Deep State Deep Swamp. John despises DJT while allowing insanity to continue.

How odd for a ‘co equal’ branch of the goobernment to tell the other branches that they can’t exercise their constitutional duties. Trump can execute the executive branch and Congress can’t impeach rogue judges. When was the amendment passed that gave the judges unlimited powers and the supreme branch of the goobernment?

FTA: “Our job is to stand up for people who can’t do it themselves. And our job is to be the champion of lost causes,” .
Wrong, Honey. Your job is to accurately and honestly apply the Constitution of these United States, protecting the Liberty and Freedom of the citizens.

A lotta nerve...If you did your job in lieu of selling out to the America-hating Deep State, Impeachment wouldn't be necessary!

Ah, the "Wise Latina" speaks and what she says is about as well considered as some of her rulings, i.e. completely made up and unrelated to law.
Roberts is digging a historical grave for himself. I wonder if he realizes that?
Trump is going to succeed and history is going to note that Roberts and his courts dragged their feet to obstruct uncovering corruption and illegal actions of the federal government. I don't know what Roberts is like in his heart, but he likes his "clean" and "above the fray" image. He isn't going to be able to keep it.

Wise Laxtinxa did not look well last time she made an appearance. Puffy eyes, paleness, and slow moving. Trump could end up choosing her replacement. Can you imagine the Trump Derangement if that happens?

Perhaps one of the larger mistakes in the US Constitution, and there are some, is the use of the word superior in relation to this court.
It was intended to replace what the British privy council's role had been previously: to act as a final court of appeal along with some original jurisdiction depending upon the topic. In that sense, and the only in that sense, this court is superior to the other courts.
It is not--repeat not--superior to the other branches of government. It is in fact inferior to both. Congress passes laws to decide what the federal courts look like, including this one. It can and has changed what this court looks like and how it operates over time. It can and has changed the number of members, the extent of its jurisdiction, and it can explicitly create other courts in addition to this one.
And the court currently chaired by Roberts is not--repeat not!--empowered to decide what the constitution means, nor is it entitled to review and negate laws dually passed by the Congress and signed by the president. The other two branches have this court get away with that because they don't want to fight the issue out.
It's time that they did exactly that. Start with immigration, create a new federal deportations Court, and exclude cases related to illegal aliens from the jurisdiction of the supreme court in exactly the same way that courts martial do not operate their instruction from the supreme court.

Nuts and nonsense! Sorry all: the word "superior" should be "supreme" in the first paragraph of my post above.
FWIW: I was thinking that "superior court" might have been a better word to use because it relates directly to the word "inferior," which describes federal courts created by Congress subject to the appelate jurisdiction of the supreme court:
"such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish." (Article III, Section 1)

The Supreme Court is not just a logical extension of judicial hierarchy of courts in the country. All inferior (Federal) courts are created by Congress. The Supreme Court is created by the Constitution. The ideal solution to the current impasse is this. Restrict ALL inferior court's authority to their own jurisdiction. National authority should be reserved for the Supreme Court only. There to this authority should not intervene in the discretionary powers given to the Executive branch by Article II. If there is a dispute about whether a particular issue is procedural or belongs under Article II should be decided either by 2/3 of the Senate or by the People every four years.

#24, I take your point and will adjust my terminology to be more precise because I agree with you that there is clear difference between the supreme court and the federal inferior courts. The Constitution does not require that inferior federal courts exist. In fact, there was debate at that time, whether inferior courts would be needed at all.
The Constitution does require that a supreme court exist. However, it also gives Congress the undiluted power and responsibility to pass laws establishing that court, deciding how many justices serve on it, and the extent of its jurisdiction (except in those specific cases where the Constution gives it original jurisdiction--e g. cases involving foreign Ambassadors).
So, a supreme court did not exist until Congress passed a law (Judiciary Act of 1789, I believe) and the President signed it. And that supreme court only had six judge. Likewise, this specific Roberts court can be restructed, additional judges added, and its jurisdiction adjusted by a simple act of Congress. (FWIW, in my view FDR's so-called "court packing" proposal wasn't in any way in; it was just politically inept).
