Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy unveiled a plan Thursday to revamp the nation’s failing air traffic control system by 2028 — following a deadly plane crash outside Washington, DC and thousands of radar and communications outages that have spooked officials, lawmakers and passengers alike.
“This is bold, this is gonna be challenging, but we absolutely can do it,” Duffy declared of his plan, which calls for at least six new air traffic control centers replacing 1960s-era facilities; swapping out old-fashioned copper wiring for fiber-optic, wireless and satellite technology at 4,600 locations; and replacing 25,000 radios and more than 600 radar installations.

Charles Barkley bluntly responded to the “stupid” supporters of transgender athletes as the NBA legend voiced his concerns on the controversial debate, saying he won’t change his mind.
“I’m gonna make this very simple for you, Dan. Men should not play sports against women,” Barkley said on Outkick’s “Don’t @ Me” with Dan Dakich Thursday. “I’m not gonna get into all the bulls–t that’s going on out here in the world today.”
The 62-year-old Hall of Famer’s views come as the sports world continues to debate the polarizing subject.

New York State Attorney General Letitia James was heckled by a Trump supporter at a community hearing where she claimed the freshly opened federal criminal probe into her alleged mortgage fraud is “baseless.”
James was interrupted at a community impact hearing in Westchester on Thursday night, just hours after the Trump administration opened a formal criminal probe into James over the alleged mortgage fraud involving her Brooklyn and Virginia properties.
“Apologize to Donald Trump for wasting millions of dollars in the state of New York,” the MAGA booster shouted from the audience.

In this allegorical scenario, Honey and Hank moved into a cozy home in a small community in New England 30 years ago. The next day, their neighbor, Irene, brings over a hot, homemade casserole to welcome them to the neighborhood.
Within minutes, Honey and Irene “connect” in a phenomenon known as human chemistry. They just seem to “get” each other. And as their relationship evolves, they learn that they are on the same page on just about everything: raising kids, favorite foods, must-see TV programs, Mommy-and-Me classes, even the crocheting and knitting that their grandmothers taught them.

The Israeli government says that it will carry out the operation if Hamas does not agree to a hostage deal by the end of the forthcoming visit of President Donald Trump to the region, which will be from May 13 to 16.Military analysts describe “Gideon’s Chariots” as a classic “clear, hold, build” strategy to root out Hamas and create new, credible, demilitarized civilian authorities to govern the Palestinian communities in Gaza.Israel plans to use military pressure to rescue the remaining hostages in a new way: not by pressuring Hamas leadership, which has been unwilling to compromise, but to isolate Hamas cells that are holding captives.

Our southernmost continent is, we’ve been told, the suffocating canary in the global coal mine. The more ice loss in Antarctica, the greater trouble we’re in. So what do we make of a study which found that between 2021 and 2023, there was a record-breaking increase in the Antarctic Ice Sheet?
We mark it down as another in a long line of misses from the global warming zealots.
“Notably, four major glaciers in the Wilkes Land–Queen Mary Land region of East Antarctica reversed their previous pattern of accelerated mass loss from 2011 to 2020 and instead showed significant mass gain during the 2021 to 2023 period,”

USDA announced the operations in a jpress release as the USDA Special Investigations Unit worked with local law enforcement to identify criminals stealing SNAP benefits. According to the press release, SNAP theft on EBT cards has “dramatically increased in recent years.” One way criminals do this is card skimmers, essentially stealing these benefits loaded onto the card. USDA notes that international criminal organizations are “heavily” involved in these thefts as well.Acting Deputy Undersecretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services John Walk, who participated in the operations — which are “part of the largest effort to combat EBT fraud in United States Secret Service history,”

The Big Apple has pulled the plug on the planned controversial Central Park concert featuring Jew-bashing performer Kehlani — after pressure from City Hall, The Post has learned.
The City Park’s Foundation, a taxpayer-funded organization, canceled the Summer Stage benefit concert, which was billed as “PRIDE WITH KEHLANI,” after intense fallout from the announcement, sources said.
The move comes just hours after the Adams administration sent a letter to the foundation, which was obtained by The Post, threatening to pull the licenses for all of the summer series’ shows over the concert.

A newly released intelligence assessment has found that some Venezuelan government officials “facilitated” the illegal migration of members of the brutal Venezuelan criminal gang Tren De Aragua into the United States “to advance what they see as the Maduro regime’s goal of destabilizing governments and undermining public safety.”
However, while Venezuela’s “permissive environment enables TDA to operate… the Maduro regime probably is not systematically directing Venezuelan outflows, such as to sow chaos in receiving countries,” says the April memo from the National Intelligence Council, released Monday by the ODNI.

common talking point trotted out to defend congressional Republicans’ failure to advance conservative priorities is that the party has slim majorities, and therefore, trying to pass anything outside of the usual “uniparty” slop is next to impossible. But if that’s true, why does the same dynamic exist in states where Republicans have much larger legislative majorities and control the governor’s mansion?
On Wednesday, the GOP-controlled Texas House — which is run by liberal Republican Speaker Dustin Burrows — passed a bill that effectively seeks to criminalize the posting and distribution of certain altered media in political advertising.

Despite the media hysteria, President Donald Trump’s counterrevolution remains on course.
Its ultimate fate will probably rest with the state of the economy by the November 2026 midterm elections.
But its success also hinges on accomplishing what is right and long overdue — and then making such reforms quietly, compassionately and methodically. No country can long endure without sovereignty and security — or with 10 million to 12 million illegal immigrants crossing the border and half a million criminal foreign nationals roaming freely.

As President Trump brings manufacturing back to the US — and closes in on trade deals with India, Japan, and South Korea — China’s days as “the world’s factory floor” are numbered. And Beijing is furious.
In a move harking back to the Cultural Revolution, Chinese schoolchildren are again being taught to hate the US. Class time is devoted to shouting anti-American slogans like “China must win the China-US trade war!”
China’s foreign ministry even released a video claiming that China “won’t kneel down” to the US, warning that bowing to US hegemony would be like drinking poison.
