A Georgia college student faces deportation after she ran a red light, and authorities discovered her entire family has been illegally living in the US for nearly 15 years. Mexican-national Ximena Arias-Cristobal, 19, was pulled over by police in Dalton, Ga. on May 5 when she failed to adhere to a “no turn on red” sign. Ximena Arias-Cristobal, a Dalton State Community College student, was driving without a driver’s license but told officers she had an international driver’s license, according to WTVC, citing the arrest report. She admitted that she didn’t have the foreign document when Dalton police officers asked her to show it,

Comments:

Here illegally for 15 years and not only didn't try to become citizens, they didn't even bother to learn basic English!!

Hate Georgia traffic laws. At one time it was illegal to make a right turn on red. Then it became legal. Unless there is a sign: No Right Turn on Red.

So let me get this straight. 1) she was brought here at the age of 4, 15 years ago 2) she went to K-12 on the tax payers dime 3) her parental units at no time in that 15 years learned even passible English 4) her dad OWNS a company in Georgia 5) she does not have a state issued license yet she was accepted to and is attending a state run community college (this is not some fancy school with lots of international students living on campus) And at NO time did anyone say "Hey, are you folks here legally?" or check anyone's papers. Just for fun, try doing all of the above in Mexico. You will be either imprisoned or deported with a month.

This is a sad story and it's rather innocent manner in which this whole matter is coming to light. I don't believe this is the priority for removal - stick with the gang members and others who've actually been convicted of a crime or had official deportation orders issued. I'm sure it's difficult to live in the shadows and be fearful of something just like this. Even President Trump is looking for ways to normalize many of those here. We do need some compassion.

@13: there are millions of tragic stories of illegals who have lived here and led good lives, but how many have applied for citizenship and learned English? Allowing her to stay only invites millions more to state: 'But you let her stay!'

The illegal turn is not why they are in trouble, if she had a driver’s license none of them would be getting deported. Driving while not have a driver’s license is a crime.

#13, no offense but I’d rather see compassion turned around and used for the American people who have been hurt by the invasion of millions of inverted illegals within our country. BTW, watching some hearings on Capitol Hill recently with Scott Bessent I was appalled at the number of Representatives (Democrat) who, judging by their nearly unintelligible accents, were themselves leftwing immigrants and radicals.

Thank you, #14. We are either a country of laws or we aren’t. Being poor and wanting economic advantages would not be grounds for you or me to break the law. If they all stay, USA will be saying oh yeah we aren’t THAT serious if you did cheat, live off taxpayers for decades after all. Children suffer every day for criminal acts their parents did. I don’t see any extra government help or compassion extended to those children. Good citizens are totally understanding of our President wanting to clean out the bad guys first. He also wants to use a compassionate touch with families up for deportation. However, if there is later some blanket amnesty to quickly be done once bad dudes are deported, it would the highest insult ever to everything generations of men have died for.

No one is above the law. The Mayor of Newark was arrested for criminal trespass on Friday after storming an ICE detention facility. Mayor Ras Baraka joined members of Congress to inspect the Delaney Hall detention facility in New Jersey when all hell broke loose. In February, ICE announced it was expanding detention capacity with the Delaney Hall facility. “This detention center is the first to open under the new administration,” said acting ICE Director Caleb Vitello in February. “The location near an international airport streamlines logistics, and helps facilitate the timely processing of individuals in our custody as we pursue President Trump’s mandate to arrest, detain and remove illegal aliens from our communities.”

One of the left’s strangest hills to die on in recent years is this insistence that men and boys should be able to play in women’s and girls’ sports. For a political movement that has made such a big deal about feminism for generations, it’s inexplicable that leftists are okay with biological males taking medals, records, and scholarships away from the girls and women who have worked and trained so hard to excel on the field, on the court, or in the pool. Thankfully, President Donald Trump recognizes the insanity of denying hardworking girls and women their ability to compete safely and fairly.

Free PR tip for conservative women: If you’re ever asked to be on the TV news and talk about a faith-based issue (abortion, Christianity, etc.), never wear heavy makeup, loud clothes, or oversized jewelry. (Actually, this is a good rule to follow if you’re a man, too.) Even if you’re super proud of it, leave your super-big crucifix at home. Why? Because the liberal media likes to portray religious conservatives as crazy, unhinged lunatics, and that kind of attire feeds into the stereotype. Don’t help the enemy make you look stupid. And this brings us to the brewing controversy of Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of Chi-Town

Habemus papam — we have a pope, and progressive Catholics will likely be pleased. And for the first time ever, the pope is an American. Cardinal Robert Prevost, now Leo XIV, is an American who also has Peruvian citizenship. He was a favorite of the late Pope Francis but has often kept a fairly low public profile, meaning that while his tendencies indicate a less traditional and strictly doctrinal perspective, his likely actions as pope have yet to be clearly predicted. But his first speech ominously seemed much in line with progressive rhetoric. It is unfortunate that the new pope was a favorite of the late Pope Francis, who prioritized leftist politics
