common talking point trotted out to defend congressional Republicans’ failure to advance conservative priorities is that the party has slim majorities, and therefore, trying to pass anything outside of the usual “uniparty” slop is next to impossible. But if that’s true, why does the same dynamic exist in states where Republicans have much larger legislative majorities and control the governor’s mansion?
On Wednesday, the GOP-controlled Texas House — which is run by liberal Republican Speaker Dustin Burrows — passed a bill that effectively seeks to criminalize the posting and distribution of certain altered media in political advertising.

Primaries are the time to do that. Vote for the most Conservative, and then on election day vote AGAINST any dim-0 on the ballot!

RINO: Undercover Democrat
Seriously; where, when, and how were they honestly Republican at all?

This is not new. At the first Tea Party Convention in 2009, Gov. Sarah Palin gave the mantra - First the RINOs then the 'Rats. Otherwise all your gains at the ballot box will come to naught inside the Beltway.

Right now, in Maine, I think the only Republican we can get elected to the Senate is a RINO... just like Susan Collins. She's as good as it's going to get!

Republicans in Texas need to change their primary system from open primary, if conservatives plan to elect conservatives. Democrats run as Republicans, having no scruples about the party label, and Democrats have no scruples about crossing and voting in the Republican primary. This is why Texas is purple.

Maine may not be able to elect someone better than Collins but the Carolinas can certainly do better than Graham and Tillis.

There are several of them in the House and the Senate but they will continue to be voted in. People don't pay attention to what their representative does and then they vote on recognition of name. They don't watch the news but the believe it is a patriotic duty to vote. It is ther patriotic duty to know what is going on around them and they vote on what they want, not what the party wants or the clown they keep putting in office.

It's going to take a couple election cycles to remove the RINO Texas Republicans.
We did a pretty decent job in 2024, knocking out a couple dozen RINOs in the House (including the representative from my district). But it's going to take a couple more cycles. It's an expensive task ... the race in our district (for primary and run-off) cost several million dollars. Heck, we'd get four or more mailers every day from the candidates and their allies. And each of those mailers, as I was told by the elected candidate, cost $20,000 each.

From what I see, state-level Representatives and Senators seldom receive any mention in the news. That is where the rot starts. Most voters are living their own life, and do not have the time or inclination to 'dig out the voting record' of their State legislators. The Presidential races and the Governor's races suck all the air out of the room, and the individual legislators barely ever get a mention. People vote on party affiliation or -maybe- name recognition, but have not idea what that candidate stands for on any number of issues.

I grew up in a one party state. The Republican Party was crushed out of existence as a state wide party after the rich men north of Richmond made a corrupt bargain with Democrats to get Rutherford B. Hayes into the White House. For 90 years Democrats ruled my state. Everybody, liberals, conservatives, Republicans, Democrats ran in the Democrat primary. It's how you got elected. We have the same situation in "red" states with the Republican primary. Time to exercise some eternal vigilance in the primary and get the lowT pretenders out of our party.

All y'all gonna lose Texas because the GOP are "the good people that did nothing." NOTHING. Silence. Zip. Zero. Nada.
All because they hate Trump. And hate the everyday ordinary Americans just trying to make it to the next paycheck and take care of their families and fight the good fight on their own level because they dont have the money and power.
I used to defend the GOP. Now I hate them back.
We're going to lose Texas because they sat on their flaccid derrieres whilst Muslims become mayors and councilmen and judges and build shariah law cities where the governor claims to have "banned" them.
The GOP is as evil as the Left. You can't hide it anymore. A pox on you.
