Virginia Republicans are splintering over GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s call for the party’s lieutenant-governor nominee to step aside — after the hopeful was accused of posting gay porn on Tumblr. Youngkin asked embattled candidate John Reid, a radio host in the Richmond area, to withdraw as the nominee upon learning of the images of naked men posted on an account using Reid’s Instagram handle last month. Reid has denied the account is his and refused to step aside — leaving party faithful scrambling to unify about six months out from the state’s bellwether 2025 off-year election. “That’s not my account,” Reid insisted after the scandal was unearthed by the Richmonder.

Gay porn and child porn have been used against people for decades. Blackmail, destruction of careers, breaking up marriages. They will have to find a way to prove this because all sorts of lies and deceptions can be created on social media for all sorts of purposes.

Come on, THIS is what the dems do to people they find a threat. They set them up with "gay porn" because they know Conservatives will flee. Well with this guy, if he says the account isn't his, Get to The Bottom of it. IF the dems did this, they must be prosecuted for campaign interferrence.

Probably manufactured to use against him. He should go ahead and resign, then work to prove it was manufactured.

The fact that he is openly gay is a minus for me anyway. My point is that anyone who deviates from a Christian-based morality cannot be trusted to be 100% true to foundational conservatism. The fact that he was so easily targeted makes another point in my argument.

I don't get it. First, we legitimize or even glorify those who practice perverse behavior. But then we are shocked if they are accused of actually practicing the very behavior that we legitimized. How does this make sense?

It should be easy to find out who the account belongs to. That said, the Republican Party seems to be the go-to place for homosexuals these days; I'm not saying they shouldn't be here, but we will have to deal with these types of issues.

Why, why, why do politicians who know they have things like this in their background run for public office, embarrassing the party they represent when their behavior is disclosed? WHY? You’ve got something like this to hide? Find another line of work beside politics.

As President Donald Trump dismantles the deep state, angry Democrats desperately defend their Jan.6, 2021 Capitol riot narrative but beam with pride that they locked up so many Americans. Trump made the announcement on Truth Social:It’s to be hoped that many of the new residents will be the same Tren de Aragua and MS-13 terrorists that the leftists insist remain on American soil. The media grimly reported the news, although they hastened to add that it won’t be easy to turn the old site into a modern prison. AP is representative of this approach to reporting:

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday warned critics of President Donald Trump’s controversial tariff plans to “never bet against America” — despite some of the finance world’s heavyweights voicing fears that the trade war has made the US “merely exceptional.” Bessent gave a full-throated defense of the commander-in-chief’s America First agenda in prepared remarks at the annual Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, Calif., predicting that Trump’s trade, deregulation and tax policies would unlock a “Golden Age” of economic prosperity. “‘Never bet against America’ captures a time-tested truth. The US economy is unstoppable,” the Key Square Founder said.

Garnished tax returns, Social Security payments and even wages will all be fair game on May 5 after a five-year pause on severe financial consequences that began during the economic upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Trump administration has made clear no additional debt forgiveness will be offered to borrowers as congressional Republicans look to revamp the student loan repayment system.

When there is a Republican president, the leftist-dominated White House press corps likes to gang up and try to put him on defense. The ultimate fantasy is repeating the glory days of Watergate by driving the president from office. That was certainly the aim in Donald Trump’s first term, where the hunt by Democrats with press passes — and the help of a corrupt FBI — was so intense that they produced a near-daily flood of lurid allegations, with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax being the grand climax. But Trump 2.0 is turning out to be a far different story, though not because the press has decided to be fair in its coverage.
