Former President Joe Biden’s failed floating Gaza pier plan left 62 US personnel injured, one service member dead and caused at least $31 million in damage to military equipment, according to a scathing Pentagon watchdog report that found the Army and Navy failed to properly plan, train for, prepare for and coordinate the mission.
The project, which Biden announced during his 2024 State of the Union address amid mounting protests on the left over Israel’s war against Hamas, sought to deliver humanitarian aid to the terrorist-controlled enclave —

Jason Riley makes his living by his pen — and wastes no ink or time mincing words.
“There’s a lot of intellectual cowardice going on in the country right now, and it’s a product, I think, of the ascendance of progressivism,” he tells The Post in an interview about his new book, “The Affirmative Action Myth: Why Blacks Don’t Need Racial Preferences to Succeed.”
The book’s title alone is sure to spur debate. Its author, a Wall Street Journal columnist and Manhattan Institute senior fellow, is somewhat bemused by his position as a provocateur.

Educayshun has become mere propaganda at hundreds of American schools and universities. In fact, Defending Education has identified a staggering $373 million in DEI funding since 2016 across more than a hundred institutions of higher learning.
Defending Ed investigated 130 colleges and universities across 44 states and Washington, D.C. to date, identifying 281 diversity, equity, and inclusion funds (DEI). These include scholarships and programs based around race and sexual “identity.”
Defending Ed warned that, while many universities and colleges have now officially ended DEI programs under Trump administration pressure, in many cases, the programs have simply been renamed or gone underground for the time being.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a Washington, DC restaurant owned by CBS News star Norah O’Donnell’s husband as part of a crackdown on illegal migrants.
Chef Geoff’s, a small chain owned by O’Donnell’s spouse Geoff Tracy, was among the handful of eateries targeted by the feds on Tuesday, FOX5 reported.
Nearly a dozen ICE and law enforcement agents went to one of the locations at about 10:30 a.m. and spent roughly 90 minutes asking to see workers’ I-9 forms — the employment verification record used to ensure employees are legally allowed to work in the US.
No one was taken into custody at the location.

As President Donald Trump dismantles the deep state, angry Democrats desperately defend their Jan.6, 2021 Capitol riot narrative but beam with pride that they locked up so many Americans.
Mike Romano, a former federal prosecutor at the Department of Justice (DOJ) Public Integrity Section, testified last week at a hearing rehashing Jan. 6, saying he is “proud” of the prosecutions he handled, that imprisoned people present at the Capitol.“Thanks to the work of our team, the Justice Department charged more than 1,500 people with crimes and obtained criminal convictions against almost 1,300 people,” Romano said. “We ensured that the rioters would face accountability, no matter how short-lived.

Donald Trump has announced that he’s reopening Alcatraz as a federal prison for the worst of the worst in America. I couldn’t be more delighted, because it’s a wonderful idea at both practical and symbolic levels.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social:It’s to be hoped that many of the new residents will be the same Tren de Aragua and MS-13 terrorists that the leftists insist remain on American soil.
The media grimly reported the news, although they hastened to add that it won’t be easy to turn the old site into a modern prison. AP is representative of this approach to reporting:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wants the number of active-duty four-star generals and admirals in the U.S. military to be cut by at least 20 percent, according to a new memo released Monday.
In the order, dated May 5, Hegseth also directed senior Pentagon leadership to slash the number of general officers in the National Guard by a minimum of 20 percent, and cut the total number of general and flag officers — those with the rank of one star or higher — across the military by 10 percent. In a video posted to social media later on Monday, Hegseth announced that the order, which he referred to as “Less Generals, more GIs,”

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday warned critics of President Donald Trump’s controversial tariff plans to “never bet against America” — despite some of the finance world’s heavyweights voicing fears that the trade war has made the US “merely exceptional.”
Bessent gave a full-throated defense of the commander-in-chief’s America First agenda in prepared remarks at the annual Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, Calif., predicting that Trump’s trade, deregulation and tax policies would unlock a “Golden Age” of economic prosperity.
“‘Never bet against America’ captures a time-tested truth. The US economy is unstoppable,” the Key Square Founder said.

It’s a dark time in New York’s Fire Island, San Francisco’s Castro Street, LA’s West Hollywood, or any of America’s other gay meccas. That’s because, as the New York Times despairingly reports, the “Trump Administration Slashes Research Into L.G.B.T.Q. Health.” But of course, this isn’t the tragedy the Times implies. That’s because, as even the Times reveals, the LGBTQ+ research that is getting cut is almost entirely about making it possible to engage in dangerous behaviors with fewer consequences.
According to the Times:

Virginia Republicans are splintering over GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s call for the party’s lieutenant-governor nominee to step aside — after the hopeful was accused of posting gay porn on Tumblr.
Youngkin asked embattled candidate John Reid, a radio host in the Richmond area, to withdraw as the nominee upon learning of the images of naked men posted on an account using Reid’s Instagram handle last month.
Reid has denied the account is his and refused to step aside — leaving party faithful scrambling to unify about six months out from the state’s bellwether 2025 off-year election.
“That’s not my account,” Reid insisted after the scandal was unearthed by the Richmonder.

The Commanders are turning to the commander-in-chief to make a major announcement on Monday.
President Donald Trump will announce on Monday that the NFL draft is headed to Washington, D.C., in 2027, Axios reported.
The announcement will be made with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Commanders owner Josh Harris on hand at the White House, with the plan being for the three-day event to be held at the National Mall.
Trump had interacted with NFL personnel recently, with the Eagles visiting the White House last week and the president golfing and spending the day with Saquon Barkley before that.
