Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wants the number of active-duty four-star generals and admirals in the U.S. military to be cut by at least 20 percent, according to a new memo released Monday. In the order, dated May 5, Hegseth also directed senior Pentagon leadership to slash the number of general officers in the National Guard by a minimum of 20 percent, and cut the total number of general and flag officers — those with the rank of one star or higher — across the military by 10 percent. In a video posted to social media later on Monday, Hegseth announced that the order, which he referred to as “Less Generals, more GIs,”

In the 80's I was offered a chance to go to an Order Of The Sword Ceremony. Thats an award given to a general from the enlisted force (read E-9s) to a general that is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The guy offering me the ticket to the ceremony said it is so special and so rare I would never see another, and most airmen would never see even one. I saw three more in a 20 year career. Must be an awful lot of great ones (he said sarcastically).

Finally! I have been b--ching about this for years. Someone with authority and power is cashiering the "political" generals and reinstating the warrior generals. It's about time. Although, BeatleJeff's name for the politicals is much better than mine. I love the silk panty brigade—it's perfect.

He is correct. How many of us have served on plum military bases where the brass had nothing to do and people were awarded desk jobs because they had time in service and little else? In places like Hawaii or the more desireable cities in Europe, it's like a paid vacation where they could cruise to retirement.

When the country is not actively at war, each service should have ONE four star officer. All others reporting to him ( you read that right) should be three stars or less.

The ARMY National Guard rank structure is the same as regular ARMY. If they can cut generals by 20% so can AD. The way the reserve componant have been mobilized and activated the past 20 years there is no rational to treat them differently.

Getting rid of half the 4 star generals will also remove their butlers, chauffers, cooks, housekeepers, staff assistants, helicopters, vehicles, and mansions.

During Obama's reign of error he, Biden and Panetta did all they could to fire warrior generals and admirals. Replacing them with crapweasels like Wesley Clark and Mike Mullen. It's high time the favor is returned and the "perfumed 4-star princes/princesses" get the steel toed boot.

Former President Joe Biden’s failed floating Gaza pier plan left 62 US personnel injured, one service member dead and caused at least $31 million in damage to military equipment, according to a scathing Pentagon watchdog report that found the Army and Navy failed to properly plan, train for, prepare for and coordinate the mission. The project, which Biden announced during his 2024 State of the Union address amid mounting protests on the left over Israel’s war against Hamas, sought to deliver humanitarian aid to the terrorist-controlled enclave —

Educayshun has become mere propaganda at hundreds of American schools and universities. In fact, Defending Education has identified a staggering $373 million in DEI funding since 2016 across more than a hundred institutions of higher learning. Defending Ed investigated 130 colleges and universities across 44 states and Washington, D.C. to date, identifying 281 diversity, equity, and inclusion funds (DEI). These include scholarships and programs based around race and sexual “identity.” Defending Ed warned that, while many universities and colleges have now officially ended DEI programs under Trump administration pressure, in many cases, the programs have simply been renamed or gone underground for the time being.

Nearly a dozen ICE and law enforcement agents went to one of the locations at about 10:30 a.m. and spent roughly 90 minutes asking to see workers’ I-9 forms — the employment verification record used to ensure employees are legally allowed to work in the US. No one was taken into custody at the location.
