Cinco de Mayo Events Canceled for Fear
of ICE Raids: ‘People Very Scared,’
‘Thinking of Going Back to Mexico’

Some cities have canceled or severely downplayed Cinco de Mayo events for fear of ICE raids and deportations. Speaking with CNN on Monday, Chicago resident Hector Escobar, president of the Casa Puebla and Cermak Road Chamber of Commerce, said that people in his community are “very scared” of gathering in public with some even considering going back to Mexico. “Our people are very scared,” he said. “Honestly, they’re saying they don’t want to go to work. They have to go to work because they have to feed their families. So, if they both were working, now one person is working.”

Comments:

Pretty sure I know where they haven't been cancelled.

According to my Mexican-born wife, true Mexicans do not celebrate Cinco de Mayo. When we were in Mexico in past trips around this time of year, there were no observances anywhere we went. So, if ICE was going to raid Mexican festival, it would be “15 de Septiembre.”

They are NOT rounding up the average illegal in the country. They are concentrating on those who've been given deportation orders already and have not left yet. They are concentrating on those who have criminal convictions while in the country. They are concentrating on the gang members who terrorize neighborhoods. But, today's Democrat party needs to tell a different story in hopes of scaring people into believing something that's not happening all because they actually created and fostered the situation.

The answer to those supposedly scared Mexicans problem is, if they are illegally in the USA, for them to return to Mexico voluntarily without being detained and deported. There is no way that ICE is going to raid Stinko de Mayo festivities thus starting a big time stampede.

Cinco de Mayo is not a "made-up holiday." It's Mexican Independence Day. Its celebration here is an indication that those who do so are not committed to the United States.

Online networks like ‘764’ target

Parents, do you know what your kids are doing online? If not, the answer may terrify you. Last month, the FBI issued a warning about the growing threat of violent online networks targeting minors. Lurking on gaming platforms, social media or self-help forums, members of these networks lavish attention on their targets. After the grooming comes the demands: that victims carve occult symbols or the names of their abusers onto their bodies (a practice known as “fansigning”). That they share sexually explicit videos or mutilate their pets on camera. That they livestream their own suicides. When victims disengage, they’re doxed and swatted, threatened with violence, blackmailed or extorted. Most victims are teens. Some are younger.

Stephen Miller’s America First Legal (AFL) has filed a bombshell lawsuit against Chief Justice John G. The lawsuit accuses the powerful duo of running what AFL describes as an “unconstitutional shadow agency” and violating federal transparency laws. The lawsuit, filed on April 22, slams the Judicial Conference of the United States and its administrative arm—both overseen by Chief Justice Roberts—as rogue “executive agencies” that have collaborated with far-left lawmakers to wage lawfare against conservative Supreme Court justices.

In high school, the doomsday scenarios regarding global warming were endless. In 2007, the climate change cult said the Arctic Ice Cap would vanish. It didn’t. When 2013 hit, it gained about 530,000 square miles of ice. Still, the con is on with the Green Left, who claims they were on the verge of total destruction. In the 1970s, global cooling and North American re-glaciation would imperil humanity. They were wrong then, and they’re wrong now. The Green Movement has been exposed as a backdoor communist push, spearheaded by the wealthy and the elites to screw over further working Americans via intentional economic sabotage.

Councilman Nick Howland, a Republican, recently made the bombshell accusation in an interview with Action News Jax, though the original allegation was reportedly made by a gun rights non-profit known as Florida Carry.[snip] “They were asked to document their first name, last name, contact information and the type of firearm they were carrying,” Howland said. “In those notebooks for two years, that info has been gathered. Florida is a no-registry state. So, that is a clear violation of state law.”

An Army Black Hawk helicopter caused two near-misses with airliners at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport last week — including passing as little as 200 feet from one jet — after the pilot took “the scenic route” to the Pentagon, according to authorities. The terrifying incident at one of America’s most crowded airports comes three months after the same kind of Army chopper from the same unit was involved in a mid-air collision with an American Airlines jet, killing 67 people. Officials and politicians were quick to blast the Army for the incident — with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy calling it “unacceptable.”

The calls for violence are growing louder and louder by the day. The agitators are calling for the assassination of public figures and elected officials; they are calling for acts of insurrection by federal and local law enforcement. These are actions that would very likely prompt a second civil war, but the agitators have no thought of that, or, on the few occasions when they register that possibility, seem somehow to think that their side would win. The people making these calls for violence are, of course, all members of the "progressive" left. Jonathan Turley recently penned an interesting piece on those people.

Priests in the Evergreen State had enjoyed something similar to attorney-client privilege when hearing confessions, but the new law — which Democratic Gov.
