Looking at you, Stacey Abrams. This Executive Order, Modernizing Payments To and From America’s Bank Account, appears to be passing under the radar; or maybe everyone is just too weary to care. Here's the skinny: Effective September 30, 2025, the federal government will no longer issue paper checks for any disbursements, including Social Security and other benefits, vendor payments, or IRS refunds. All agencies and executive departments must transition to a form of electronic funds transfer to make and receive payments.

In a ruling that should outrage every parent, taxpayer, and conservative voter in Texas, a federal judge has stomped all over the authority of the Texas A&M University Board of Regents—greenlighting a sexually charged, ideologically driven drag show to proceed on campus despite a commonsense ban. Senior U.S. District Judge Lee H. Rosenthal, appointed by George H. W. Bush, issued a sweeping preliminary injunction Monday that forces Texas A&M to allow the so-called “Draggieland” event—a campus drag show hosted by the “Queer

Our friend Steven Hayward, late of the great Power Line blog, university professor and incisive thinker, wrote a compelling essay last week about “The Nadir of the Climate Change Movement.” If anyone should know about the state of global warming hysteria, it would be Hayward. Here’s how he begins his argument: The prevailing winds are blowing not toward more windmills but toward common sense on energy. It is possible that the Trump administration is going to deal the death blows to the long-running climate change hysteria and government hostility to fossil fuels, not just in the United States but around the globe.

When the Trump administration announces the next round of government layoffs, the wailing, the gnashing of teeth, the sob stories will be deafening. For what? A bunch of overpaid, underworked bureaucrats? Estimates about how many jobs have been cut so far differ. The press claims DOGE has eliminated around 100,000 federal jobs. Challenger, Gray & Christmas says 62,530 were let go in January and February. But the Bureau of Labor Statistics recorded a net loss of only 6,700 federal jobs in February. Whatever the case, Donald Trump wants big numbers. The Department of Education already said it will chop its workforce in half.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) drew condemnation from personalities on both sides of the political spectrum when she seemingly expressed outrage over recent airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Tlaib responded to reports of a Signal text group that included national security officials, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The group reportedly discussed classified details of upcoming attacks against the armed terror group. Someone accidentally looped in Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of "The Atlantic," into the chat. "This is an outrageous national security breach, and heads should roll," Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA) told Axios,

Signal, a messaging app known for its end-to-end encryption and focus on privacy, is facing renewed scrutiny in an era where digital security is a growing concern. Questions about its ownership and reliability have surfaced, particularly after a leaked group chat involving Fox News host Pete Hegseth came to light. According to a report published by The Atlantic on Monday, members of former President Donald Trump's national security team, including his defence chief, used Signal to discuss classified military plans

Everyone talks about transparency. The Democrats don’t like it. They’re all about secrecy and censorship. The right believes in transparency but caves when challenged. So the American people are often left in the dark about most things governmental and are not aware of the rampant duplicity that undergirds everything remotely political. Obviously, the Democrats’ strategy has been well-planned with the confidence that higher courts, especially the SCOTUS, would not interfere with their lawfare. Chief Justice Roberts has reason to be ashamed of Judge James "Jeb" Boasberg; he appointed him to the FISA court.

Setting aside any "national security" concerns arising from letting The Atlantic's Russia-hoaxer Jeffrey Goldberg in on the Administration's Houthi-bombing call, I doubt that any creature more sentient than an amoeba can have been surprised to learn that US cabinet members "loathe" European "freeloading". (Snip) Are you shocked by Hegseth dismissing the Continent as "pathetic"? Well, you should have been around in the Obama era, when Victoria Nuland, She-Wolf of the Donbass, was rather pithier: F*** the EU! Chief Justice Roberts, the designated non-binary voter on the Supreme Court, has demanded, re the ongoing judicial coup, that Trump allow the lethargic appellate process to play itself out.
A Trump Recession? replies

The financial markets have been tanked by the threat of economic damage from President Trump’s tariffs–or that is the narrative, anyway. Democrats are hoping for a full-blown recession, which they are already labeling the “Trump recession.” But perhaps stocks have mostly pulled back a little from high valuations, as happens all the time. As of today, the Dow is down 3.3% from January 20, when Trump was inaugurated. The S&P is down 4.6%, and the tech-heavy NASDAQ, whose companies are least likely to be affected by tariffs, but whose prices were generally considered to be most over-valued a few months ago, is down 7.9%. Not exactly Black Tuesday territory,

Maybe you've seen this already. It seems to be everywhere today so we might as well talk about it. Just over a week ago the Trump administration announced a series of strikes on the Houthis in Yemen. The US has launched a "decisive and powerful" wave of air strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen, President Donald Trump has said, citing the group's attacks on shipping in the Red Sea as the reason. "Funded by Iran, the Houthi thugs have fired missiles at US aircraft, and targeted our Troops and Allies," Trump said on social media, adding that their "piracy, violence, and terrorism" had cost "billions" and put lives at risk.

Last week was spring break for students at Columbia University. That means students were off campus when the school effectively conceded to the Trump administration and promised to put in place many changes to how things operate going forward. Columbia University students were stepping into a new campus environment Monday after their university announced sweeping policy changes while they were away on spring break, seemingly bowing to the Trump administration’s demands over the release of $400 million in federal funding to the school... The new rules effectively ban protests inside and immediately outside academic buildings, and all demonstration activity is subject to the university’s antidiscrimination and anti-harassment policies.

Incendiary devices were discovered at a Tesla dealership in Austin, Texas, on Monday morning, authorities said, the latest in widespread acts of violence targeting the electric carmaker. Officers with the Austin Police Department responded to the dealership along U.S. Highway 183 just after 8 a.m. when they found the "suspicious devices," authorities told Fox News Digital. The bomb squad was called in to investigate. "The devices, which were determined to be incendiary, were taken into police custody without incident," a police statement said. "This is an open and ongoing investigation."
