President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order requiring people to provide proof of American citizenship when they register to vote and demanding that all ballots be reviewed by Election Day. The order requires government-issued proof of U.S. citizenship on its voter registration forms, directs the attorney general to enter into information-sharing agreements with state election officials to identify cases of election fraud or other election law violations and conditions federal election-related funds on states complying with federal election integrity measures. [Snip] Documentary proof of citizenship includes a U.S. passport, a REAL ID or military, state or federally-issued identification indicating American citizenship.

This is about federal elections. Sounds reasonable. Not that hard to get proof ofcitizenhip. Anyone who cannot or will not should not be voting for president ...

Unless states want to keep two sets of voter rolls, the federal requirements will spill over into the states’ requirements. This should have happened a long time ago! Of course, federal judges will try to shut down this EO! What ignorammusses!

Seems appropriate, as every US citizen can easily get a copy of their birth certificate, a passport, or if naturalized a certificate of citizenship. It will be up to the States to require that before the next federal election.

I saw nothing describing an enforcement mechanism or punishment. If it is left up to the states, only the ones that already have relatively clean, honest elections will pay any attention to this. Scamocrats absolutely depend on fraudulent votes from ineligible voters; and will continue to, until stopped.

But, what about the millions of illegals Biden imported to do the job real Americans refuse to do. Of course, that job was to vote democrat. The democrats couldn't complete the plan to get enough of these folks to vote in 2024. Thankfully. This EO is going to do major damage to democrats in future elections.

The countries in the world that do not restrict their voting to citizens-only are the ones who automatically give one hundred percent of the vote to the Dicktater-du-Jour. Notice to all residents of the US who do not have proof of citizenship, you have aproximately 40 months to get an official ID card made. Think you can accomplish that?

#12 Don't forget airline travel. I even have to show photo ID when I go to a doctor's office. Dems are making a big deal about this because they depend on illegals who can't provide documentation for enough votes to fraudulently win elections. I receive a ballot in the mail every election even though I vote in person. That needs to be stopped too. I take the ballot with me when I go to vote and make sure they mark VOID across the face of it.

A while back I was talking to a man from Nigeria, remember Nigeria is a Third World country that is widely known to be rift with all sorts of fraud. The Nigerian man showed me his government issued Nigerian voter ID card that he said must be shown before any Nigerian person is allowed to vote in Nigerian elections. He said that if those voter identification cards were not used in Nigerian elections that there would be massive voter fraud. If the Government of Nigeria can cut out obvious would be massive voter fraud by using government issued voter ID cards, surely the USA can do the same.

Getting copies of official documents like birth and death certificates isn't hard. If they're native-born citizens, they have two years to apply for a copy of their birth certificate. I have my original, plus certified copies I requested a few years back. Yes, you have to jump through some hoops (produce a government-issued ID and maybe explain your relationship to the person if it isn't you), but if you're making a legitimate request, they come within a few weeks. I've also requested copies of relatives' death certificates from various states and not been refused.

It is already federal law that only US citizens can vote in federal elections (President, Senate, Congress). Trump's new EO cites existing federal laws regarding non-citizens from being prohibited from voting in federal elections. Trump is not dictating something new. He is requiring the States to follow federal laws relating to who can vote in federal elections and who can't vote.

On March 7, I argued in The Federalist that President Donald Trump should ignore a Supreme Court that would allow lower courts to refuse to uphold the Constitution and instead encroach on executive authority. [Snip] They do not check executive power--they seize it, substituting judicial preference for the president’s constitutional role. Article II gives Trump, not judges, authority over federal agencies and the military. [Snip] If Congress will not curb this overreach through impeachment--and with a divided Senate it likely cannot--the president must step in.
