A most dangerous war took a perilous turn on Friday. In what was planned to be a brief, cordial, greeting, President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy squared off in the Oval Office and left an alliance shaken. For three years, the west has stood against Russia's unprovoked invasion of an innocent country. Ukraine is a vanity war for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who covets an empire. And for that alone, more than one million people have been killed or wounded on both sides. President Trump has boasted only he can end it quickly. But, in the last two weeks, his chaotic attempt alarmed allies

Zel believes his own lefty PR. He sold US arms the were given to him on the black market for 20 cents on the dollar. He shut down election and banned the opposition.

Mea culpa! Senior moment confused posting rule of first sentence rather than entire first paragraph. The “wonderment” of senior years!

Typical mainstream media take on anything DJT. Hey, all youse experts, how do you feel about not sending our children to fight and die and be maimed in a hopeless trench war? Maybe the hoi polloi think WW3 would be good for the economy. It has been said that WW2 is what brought us out of the depression, not FDR's wrangling during the first 100 days. Hey, can we see the results of DJT 2.0 first 100 days before we massively add to the graves at Arlington?

If Trump can't end the war I will blame the Democratic party senators who told him to turn down the deal and hold out for US boots on the ground. Their treason keeps surprising all of us.

Meh... It's CBS - Communist Bulls**t Service. Don't expect any truth or coherency. Same old Same old.
What really happened was Z-boy met with Democrats for advice before his meeting with Trump. He followed their advice, was rude and argumentative and was summarily kicked out of the WH like any other guest who doesn't know how to behave. He's a dead man, at this point. The Europeans are mincing and fawning in an attempt to trick Trump into talking to the little thug, but since they also want American money troops and equipment on the ground in Ukraine, it's not going to happen. In fact, I would say the EU is going to cause the USA to pull out of both NATO and the UN.
And about time. Useless waste of US taxpayer dollars in the European quest to rule the world.

Pelley, once again omitting some vital facts. They squared off only after the beggar changed the rules at the 11th hour and 45th minute.

Actually, you are wrong, Scott. The alliance between Z and the European Union is what was shaken. Why else do you think Z had to show up for that hug and slobber fest with the EU leaders on Sunday to try to make it up to them and share new optics with the world?

This I guess is news to some but the "US-Ukraine Alliance" was dead the moment President Trump took office. And it will rightfully stay that way unless the diminutive mediocre comic is either ousted for smarter leadership or he buys a suit and a clue and comes back on his knees begging for the deal we DON'T have to give him. He was right about one thing.. we have oceans. We also have zero to gain from anymore European military entanglements that antagonize the Russians.
As it stands the longer this nonsense goes on, the more I am hoping we withdraw from NATO and every other bloated, globalist elitist driven bureaucracy that hates us and we have been chained to and financially almost completely funding lo these many years. Cut Socialist Europe loose to fund it's own security with ZERO help from us and then we will see how excited they are to start their own world war.

Russia, Greenland, and Canada have closer resources for the US, and the US has a lot of resources that have not been developed. The US can buy rare earth minerals on the market for less than it will cost for a Marshall Plan for Ukraine. The US could get its money back by withdrawing from NATO, the UN, stop financing the Palestinians, close off the Democrat slush funds, shutting down the border, and reciprocal tariffs so the US is not robbed of its industry. There are a lot of options to Ukraine for the US.

"Alliance" is it? Must be a new meaning for "blood sucking parasitic relationship."

Zelenskyy had agreed to the deal. The reason he was coming to the White House was to publicly make it official. For whatever reason, he wanted to totally change the deal at the eleventh hour. He chose to do this in the most public manner. This was contemptible. It is no wonder that President Trump was having no part of it.

The first paragraph’s word count exceeded 100 so unable to post significant excerpts from Sunday’s “CBS 60 Minutes” program focusing on the February 28th Oval Office meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy that included a response from retired Army General H. R. McMaster saying that President Trump was being played by Vladimir Putin “...like other presidents have been played...through that same playbook of Putin’s.” Further, that “allies stood with Zelenskyy” and a flash summit with “new negotiations by Britain and France—potentially taking the lead for peace out of the hands of President Trump.” Recommend reading the article.
