Led by their stylish first lady, the trendsetting women of America are doing what Volodymyr Zelensky can’t: wearing neckties. Melania Trump showed up to Capitol Hill this week wearing a tailored three-piece camel suit with a slim black tie. Lately, the neckwear has also shown up on runways, red carpets, and even on the queen of Spain. The necktie is “2025’s Most Talked-About Accessory Trend” for women, according to WhoWhatWear, and L’Officiel calls it “2025’s Must-Have Accessory.” It’s typically accompanied by broad-shouldered suits, like the hourglass-shaped tuxedo Melania wore for her official White House portrait (sans tie, though with a white collared shirt).

Although sincerely admiring and respecting Mrs. Trump, must confess to being displeased with yesteryear and today’s “fashion” of women wearing menswear. In the “yesteryear” of Katharine Hepburn and Julia Roberts, there wasn’t any confusion “about the differences between boys and girls” but in today’s world of make-believe and purposeful idiocy that has permeated society in a variety of ways through video games, motion pictures, and music to the point of society’s acceptance of depraved/immoral transgenderism, is it any wonder many of today’s youngsters are restless and seemingly have no safe/solid/stable anchor so have fallen into criminal activities, drug addiction, emotional instability? Supposedly, today’s fashion trend is “part of a continuing swing away from the hypersexualization of women.” More likely, it is nothing more than the fashion industry recycling another OLD trend to make NEW money with “trendy” women succumbing to the dictates of “current fashion” rather than adhering to classic fashion without apology for being their own woman and not unhappy being a woman. Meanwhile, still developing adolescents are subjected to more confusion via so-called trendy fashion. The reality of the author’s conclusion would more likely be, or should be, understood as the difference between masculine and feminine complementing each other rather than being in competition with each other. Personal Disclosure: Opinion expressed is from an ultra-conservative senior citizen.

Many times, when we are too close to something, it can seem out of focus or undefined. But then, when distance and time are added, it immediately snaps into the sharpest of clarity and meaning. I maintain that is what is happening now about how President Donald J. Trump is transforming our government, our quality of life, our nation, and even the world. He, and he alone, is ushering in a new American revolution. One which may not be clear to us now, but months, years, and even decades from now,,, [Snip] As well as its massive historical significance.

A most dangerous war took a perilous turn on Friday. In what was planned to be a brief, cordial, greeting, President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy squared off in the Oval Office and left an alliance shaken. For three years, the west has stood against Russia's unprovoked invasion of an innocent country. Ukraine is a vanity war for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who covets an empire.
