How Socialism Works in America: Remembering
Obama’s GM Boondoggle

In 2009, the Obama administration bailed out General Motors (GM) with American taxpayer dollars, prompting Venezuela's socialist dictator Hugo Chavez to quip, “Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel [Castro], careful or we are going to end up to his right.” The mainstream media buried this unflattering story to the best of their ability. What they did report breathlessly, however, was Obama’s assurance that he had “no interest” in nationalizing or “running GM.” This was an example of media gaslighting the public before we began calling it that. GM, Solyndra, cash gifts to Iran, the entire healthcare system with Obamascare. If this boy could do one thing well, it was to spend our tax dollars and make the problems that he was claiming to fix even worse. The resurgence of racism and hatred were just a bonus.

The left and their unions have only succeeded in destroying American car companies. They have been so successful that they have even destroyed German car companies.

At the time, a local Ford dealer was offering bumper stickers that said "FORD didn't take your tax money", or something close. I took one.

Along with the unions and the Government, it seems to me that GM made a series of really bone-headed decisions that drove the downfall of the company. The infamous Corvair, with it's dangerous swing-axle rear suspension really hurt the company in the '60's, followed by the disastrous Vega ("the 60,000 mile disposable car") in the '70's. GM's failure to produce decent-quality and decent-running cars that could compete for customers with the Japanese products continued the downward slide. Even today, talking with people, when I hear stories of "I had to have the transmission replaced four times in 60,000 miles".... it's usually a GM product.

After getting totally domesticated by President Trump last month over repatriation flights for illegals, you'd think Colombia's far-left president, Gustavo Petro, might have stayed quiet for a reasonable interval. Guess again. The budding buffoon of South America has put out this doozy of a statement on non-dangers of cocaine: (X) Which is more than a little disturbing. There's plenty of difference between snorting lines of coke and sipping expensive whiskey in a club as anyone with common sense can tell you. To say the least, this is highly abnormal for any Latin American leader to be saying, complete with whimpering victimization about gringo being all prejudiced against Latin Americans

Yesterday I took note of the Trump Department of Education’s investigation of five universities for their toleration of anti-Semitism. First on the DoE list is Columbia University and and rounding it out is the University of Minnesota. I commented that Columbia should be razed and the ground underneath it salted — the Carthaginian solution. A prominent historian and teacher reasonably implored me: "Please be a little more moderate in your language. Making comments like 'Columbia University should be razed to the ground' are painful to read for Columbia grads like myself, who are grateful for all we’ve received from that great institution of learning. The “climate hoax” and “Green New Scam,” as President Donald Trump calls them, have spawned countless bad ideas and even worse policies. In the transglobal elite’s attempt to direct the world’s economy by controlling average people, they have pushed an idiotic and dangerous vision of the nations of the world going net zero. I’m sure it’s purely coincidence that the policies developed to meet net zero just happen to benefit those same elites financially and in terms of political power. Among the net zero policies pushed by the former Biden-Harris administration were de facto electric vehicle mandates, greenhouse gas restrictions forcing the premature closure of reliable coal-fueled power plants, and restrictions

Recently a myriad of legacy media, political pundits, and websites have promoted the idea that Trump’s loss in the 2020 election was actually a net positive for the country, though you’ll never have Trump agree with that assessment. Yet there is something to be said for the differences between the man in 2020, and the man in 2024. More than that, there are some intriguing facts that suggest that not only was it the best outcome longterm, but it was divinely guided. Conclusions abounded that Trump had essentially brought the 2020 loss on himself; from the leftwing BBC: "They were put off by his aggressiveness. His stoking of racial tensions.

The next time Hillary Clinton or her media allies wag a finger about “Russian interference,” remember this: Hillary Clinton’s State Department helped arm Russia with hypersonic missile technology. Yes, the same Hillary Clinton who branded Tulsi Gabbard a “Russian asset”. The same Hillary Clinton who pushed the Trump-Russia collusion hoax for years. The same Hillary Clinton who expects America to believe that Moscow is an existential threat. Her tenure at the State Department actively facilitated, promoted, and encouraged the transfer of dual-use technology that helped build Russia’s next-generation hypersonic missile systems. U.S. officials later sounded the alarm about Skolkovo’s military applications, but the damage was done by then. As Clinton’s State Department

A French gynaecologist has been barred from practising for a month because he refused to examine a transgender patient on the grounds that he was only qualified to treat “real women”. Dr Victor Acharian was accused of transphobia after he turned the patient away in August 2023, and LGBT groups lodged complaints. In December he appeared before a disciplinary board of the French Medical Council and he has now been suspended for a month from March 1, with an additional five months’ probation. Édouard Martial, a lawyer representing the patient, said: “We have the satisfaction of having confirmation that what happened that day was totally abnormal.” SOS Homophobie, a transgender activist group,

It happens a lot: You’ll hear about a new movie or TV show with a really cool, totally original premise, but alas, the writers and actors fumbled the football in the execution. The first few minutes are promising, but you quickly realize that the script’s premise far exceeded the participants’ talents. It’s frustrating and annoying. An example of this is the 1995 supernatural thriller “The Prophecy,” starring Christopher Walken and Viggo Mortensen, where humans discover a “lost” chapter in the Book of Revelation: Joseph: What is it? Thomas Daggett: Twenty-third chapter of Saint John's Revelations. Joseph: And? Thomas Daggett: There is no twenty-third chapter. Joseph: Well, maybe this is the Teacher's Edition.

The President of the United States is the head of the executive branch. Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution says: The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. Section 2 speaks more specifically to his enumerated powers, but he’s in charge of the Executive branch and everyone in it. That’s non-controversial when Democrats/socialists/communists (D/s/cs) occupy the White House. But when a Republican like Donald Trump is in office it’s the height of controversy. Trump is demanding—gasp!—that federal employees, many of whom have been out of the office since Covid lockdowns, return to their offices and actually work 40 hours a week. He is also offering

Rep. AOC's comments were part of a 90-minute-long conversation with fans on Instagram. What really launched New York's most prominent socialist into a flurry of dizzying projection are Musk's ongoing efforts to clean up an out-of-control bureaucracy through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team. "This dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met, or seen, or witnessed," she whinnied.

WASHINGTON — President Trump proposed a US takeover of the Gaza Strip Tuesday night — shortly after suggesting removing “all” Palestinians living there. “The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings — level it out and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.” (Photo)

Black History Month has been a regular feature of life at Air Force bases around the world for decades. No longer. A directive from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, headlined "Identity Months Dead at DoD," wipes Black History Month and similar celebrations off the military calendar — starting immediately. "Our unity and purpose are instrumental to meeting the Department's warfighting mission. Efforts to divide the force — to put one group ahead of another — erode camaraderie and threaten mission execution,” Hegseth said in the directive, formally known as a "guidance." “Going forward, DoD Components and Military Departments will not use official resources, to include man-hours, to host celebrations or events

What the hell did I watch? If anything, the anti-Elon Musk rally last night proved two things: Trump derangement syndrome has been replaced by Elon Musk derangement syndrome. Second, the Democratic Party has no idea how to win elections. The reports of a rudderless, leaderless, and divided organization were confirmed last night. It also showed that they have no message other than ‘me no like this Trump administration,’ of which Elon Musk is a top agent of the president. His Department of Government Efficiency is wiping the table clean, exposing waste and fraud, and getting these lazy DC government workers to quit.

Their claims are truly unhinged — because special government employees, Elon Musk and his DOGE team, are operating as part of the Executive Office of the President to review government expenditures. Yet Democrats have been leveling all kinds of crazy accusations against Trump and Musk, especially since Musk has been looking into the hornet's nest that is USAID. Rep. Costs might go well beyond the nationwide average of $4.15 a dozen that commercial eggs sold for in December. “Anyone who’s done an ounce of research will very quickly understand that there are no free eggs, there are no inexpensive eggs in keeping chickens,” said Kathy Shea Mormino, a home chicken blogger and author who
