On a small hill just north of the Cincinnati city limits sits a sprawling academic campus that, at first glance, you could be forgiven for mistaking for a small college. [Snip] The all-boys school...attracting...sons of Cincinnatians for more than 150 years. [Snip] ...at an elite place like St. X, Vivek stood out... [Snip] ...Vivek Ramaswamy never made this place his home. He’s...someone whose wealth led him to see the globe as his residence. We don’t want the best, smartest technocrat in charge; we want the man who would abhor our city’s exploitation...preserve it for those who have lived, worked, bled, and died to make it what it is.

Maybe I missed something, but this article doesn't convince me Vivek is anywhere near as reprehensible as the author believes. Where is the evidence?

Joe Shuster is a very odd guy with a beef against his former schoolmate Vivek, who has clearly done far more with his life gthan Joe has. Joe's biases,go on and on. Joe's X posts are also very pdd. What on earth was The Federalist thinking?

How does anyone just look past the FACT that Vivek made his fortune with a completely fraudulent, medical stock? This can be ignored but, NOT disputed. The guy is the definition of a sleaze.

His opinion.
I don't agree, but he's entitled to it. I'm done with Democrats and RINOs. I don't live in Ohio, but I'd vote for Rameswamy over my current governor, Shapiro in PA.

Seems like a rather parochial viewpoint. It's wonderful if your ancestors all lived and died nearby. But not everyone is going to fit that mold.

Shuster is practiing inverse snobbery. This is apparently his only dropping at the Federalist. First and last? You don't have to be a Vivek fan to see a very crabgbed turn of mind. Joe p robably felt inferior to Vivek when they were in high school. Vivek was two yearw behind him; then whizzed right by... Now maybe back to be a political leader, anfd Joe is not happy abojut that. Some nnever get over high shool.

In fairness to Mr. Schuster possibly having valid reasons for not choosing to share more detail regarding his reticence regarding Mr. Ramaswamy, the links provided below are being posted as “informational” due to the seriousness of choosing candidates best suited for this country’s future and security whether votes apply to Cincinnati, to Ohio or to the nation. It is a voter’s moral and patriotic responsibility to consider the pros and cons of candidates or issues before casting a vote.

Cincinnati, earlier known as Losantiville, was named after the Society of the Cincinnati, an association of Revolutionary War officers. Yes, its name came from Lucius Quintus.
I graduated from Western Hills High School in 1955, and from the University of Cincinnati in 1959.
This Cincinnatian is proud to share that appellation with Vivek Ravaswamy.

Apparently the naming of Cincinnati was not so direct. From its own Wikipedia page:
Two years after the founding of the settlement then known as "Losantiville", Arthur St. Clair, the governor of the Northwest Territory, changed its name to "Cincinnati", possibly at the suggestion of the surveyor Israel Ludlow,[15] in honor of the Society of the Cincinnati.[16] St. Clair was at the time president of the Society, made up of Continental Army officers of the Revolutionary War.[17] The club was named for Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, a dictator in the early Roman Republic who saved Rome from a crisis and then retired to farming because he did not want to remain in power, becoming a symbol of Roman civic virtue.[18][19][a]
So it was named for a sjrveying club that had been named for Cincinnatus.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer (2023) this quite explains nothingburger Sjusters attitude abojut Vivek Shiuster asserts that Vivek never lived in Cincinnati. He apparently lived in a fomfortable "upper middle class suburb" where in 2023 his home would hve been worth $500,000.

Shuster really displays his envy which clearly dates back to high school.

#25~ “...in 2023 his home would have been worth $500,000." / Based on the warm emotional concerns about families residing in Cincinnati for 150 years and its history, Mr. Schuser’s concern about the future of Cincinnati suggests his expression that Mr. Ramaswamy “never made this place his home” was due to Mr. Schuster’s perception of “house” and “home” having two very distinct meanings—that a “house” is a building/structure, whereas a “home” is a more personal and emotional dwelling. That is the point Mr. Schuster was making with Mr. Ramaswamy not having any personal/emotional attachment to the city, rather than harboring any monetary/wealth jealousy or resentment toward Mr. Ramaswamy’s pricey house in Cincinnati or his affluence.

Every time braindead liberals pull the "BCE" and "CE" garbage, I always say I like the "Christian Era (CE)" and "Before the Christian Era (BCE)" references. Their heads usually explode as they hem and haw.
Thank God most historians are not buying into this PC garbage of trying to take Christ out of more of our common usage. They still use BC and AD.

The author, a graduate of St. Xavier High school and resident of Cincinnati, Ohio suggests Vivek Ramaswamy “never” having made Cincinnati his home, has prevented him from appreciating “being from a city named after the man who embodied the legendary ideal of political servant-leadership.” Cincinnati, Ohio was named after the Roman statesman, Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus (Born 519? BCE), who “gained fame for his selfless devotion to the republic in times of crisis and for giving up the reins of power when the crisis was over.”
