WASHINGTON — President Biden is moving to ban new offshore oil and gas drilling in most U.S. coastal waters, a last-minute effort to block possible action by the incoming Trump administration to expand offshore drilling. The entire political leadership in California deserves to be in jail. Okay, maybe that’s too much, but everyone must be fired. As the media focuses on the raging wildfires engulfing Los Angeles County, the lack of water and firefighters, and Mayor Karen Bass being in Africa when the blaze erupted, we have new developments on how this top-down failure in disaster response came about. Bass was already torched for cutting almost $20 million from the Los Angeles Fire Department a few months ago. Earlier today when I wrote about the wildfires I mentioned that there were reports the hydrants were simply running dry, leaving firefighters no way to battle the flames. Here's Rick Caruso, former candidate for LA mayor, describing the problem. FIle this next clip under "too good to check" but apparently this morning one local LA anchor tried to discount what Caruso was saying only to have a reporter contradict him a minute later. That knee-jerk urge to contradict whatever criticism Democrats are getting is one surefire way the media consistently sets its own credibility on fire.

Republicans in Congress are already getting to work on trying to implement Donald Trump’s agenda.
Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) this week put forward a joint resolution seeking to limit the number of terms members of Congress can serve.
Under the terms of the amendment, U.S. senators would be restricted to two six-year terms and representatives in the U.S. House to three two-year terms.
According to the resolution, the amendment would take effect within seven years of being approved by Congress and ratified by the states.
We reported earlier on some of the priceless interactions between the various presidents, vice presidents, and their spouses at the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter. We saw President Trump shake hands with his former VP Mike Pence, despite what can only be considered strained feelings between the two these days. There was the chilly interaction between Jill Biden and Kamala Harris, and the ridiculous reason that Michelle Obama wasn't there. There was Joe Biden, looking out of it, as usual. (Snip) But as the funeral went on there was another priceless moment that I had to share -- Kamala Harris' reaction to Barack Obama talking with Trump.
