Shockingly, the disaster that is the California wildfires has turned political. I know, you didn't see it coming, did you? Stunning. How could something so tragic turn so political so quickly? Just kidding. Of course you saw it coming! Such is life in 2025. And it's coming from both sides, of course. Left, right, center, green party (don't know if that one is true) – it's an absolute battle right now over who's at fault, why it happened, and how we stop it from happening again.

Comments:

So how is the emphasis on DEI hiring improving anything?

Just more of the “Are you going to believe us or your lying eyes” BS continually used by the left to cover their incompetence to lead, govern or anything else useful!

When you live in LaLa Land: Pride IS competence, no other qualifications necessary. Even when the suburbs burn down.

That headline is stunningly ridiculous. Hopefully, the DEI trend is diminishing. All it does is make people wary of the decent minorities.

Maybe, just maybe, people will wise up. Perhaps they will elect people that actually govern rather than people playing politics enriching themselves and pretending to be god.

Unfortunately, DEI is alive and well in every liberal democrat controlled city. Whenever there is a crisis that requires television coverage, the police commissioner, the police chief, the fire chief, or the emergency management director are either gay, black, a woman, or a combination of all of them. Look at New York City (the killing of the UHC CEO), NOLA (New Years terrorist attack), and now LA (wildfires). All of them incompetent. Heaven forbid these cities would hire the heads of departments based solely on merit or accomplishment. And don't get me started on the idiot mayor's of these cities. Jeez...

I have to admit the Lesbian Fire Chief isn't getting anything done, though to be fair, that's hard to do, when your Mayor stole money from your budget for the homeless, and also sent "extra fire equipment" to Ukraine for their tussle over there. Add to that all the personnel that were fired when they refused the clot-shot... And the DEI hiring parameters... They are really thigh deep in a sh! thole, aren't they... WOKE fails, again.

Besides being laughable, the Pride.com article is strategically stupid. If nothing had been said, probably the focus would have been on the fire department as a whole, and most people would probably credit the firefighters with doing the best job they could do under the circumstances. Any blame would probably be directed at the city and state governments for lack of preparation/decaying infrastructure. Now, however, they’re setting up one of their own to look incompetent and nothing more than a DEI hire — which she may or may not be, but this will probably be the public’s perception.

I don't give a damn if the Fire Chief is a bull dyke, IF she earned the job and wasn't a DEI promotion. But now she has the job and is promoting more DEI which pretty much tells me that is how she got the job.

While being proud of her being the Fire Chief, remember she will also be in line for the criticisms that any Fire Chief would be receiving at this time too.

For the faction that wants to remake America according to their vision, the chiefdyke has certainly gotten things done. Burning down the past and present before redefining everything... (Yes, I'm suggesting this debacle was not entirely unintended. 'White privilege' is their target, and prosperous whites on Left AND Right are taking it in the shorts with this.)

Unless Crowley set the fires with the intention of destroying the city it’s hard to see what she’s accomplished because they’re still burning gangbusters. As Angelenos watch their lives burn to the ground they can take comfort knowing their mayor is a black woman who wears her hair like a lesbian, their fire chief is a bona fide lesbian and their governor is an imbecile.

In this episode of "Yawn, So What's New?"... In a predictable leftist move, "Ben & Jerry's" ice cream is hawking a "direct action" ... "against fascism" in opposition to President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20. Yeah. And yawn. As reported by the Post Millennial on Thursday, the notoriously radical left-wing company is working to organize participation in a "People's March" on January 18 in Washington, D.C., along with other locations across the fruited plain. The company's latest newsletter encouraged its customers to protest and "dissent" against Trump's soon-to-be presidency. Post Millennial Senior Editor Andy Ngo posted a reminder on X (formerly Twitter) of just who these two radical characters —

He has wasted billions of taxpayer dollars (snip)instead of doing what he should have to ensure this fire didn’t inflict the

New York Judge Juan Merchan ruled Friday that President-elect Donald Trump will not face any punishment after being convicted of 34 felonies related to a hush-money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels. Merchan gave Trump an unconditional discharge, meaning he declined to sentence Trump to jail time or probation in light of the president-elect’s imminent return to the White House. The sentencing puts an end to an unprecedented case that Trump and his allies have cast as political persecution.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass demanded her Fire Department make an extra $49million of budget cuts last week, a leaked memo revealed. This cut is already on top of $17.6million of cuts in her latest budget. The extra cuts, requested just days before fires broke out and devastated swathes of Los Angeles, would have shut down 16 fire stations and crippled the department's ability to respond to emergencies, sources said. [SNIP] The memo is dated January 6, only a day before the devastating Palisades Fire started.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom requested Friday that President Joe Biden “deal with” people who are allegedly spreading “misinformation” about his response to the wildfires raging across Los Angeles. Newsom alleged that Californians have gathered so-called “misinformation” about the wildfires and that himself and Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have had atypical conversations with the public regarding the so-called false information. He asked the president during a virtual meeting to confront the alleged misinformation and “lies” spewed by those who want to “divide” the U.S.

Breakfast of failures? California gastroenterologist Dr. Saurabh Sethi has taken to TikTok to call out the five unhealthiest breakfast foods. We’ve long been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, a metabolic boost that provides the cornerstone of nutrition. Yet according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, a quarter of us skip our morning meal, and it seems even those who do make the time to rise and dine do not always make healthy choices.

If only Dandy Don Meredith were alive to sing the chorus... I'm sure within the ego of California Governor Gavin Newsom, as vast as the acreage of the L.A. basin that's burned, he thinks he's handling this crisis just fine, and that no one will remember this unpleasantness witnessed over the last week. I'm sure he believes his presidential ambitions, unlike so many historic homes, restaurants, museums, and other buildings, still stand. It's over. Yesterday, there was one exchange Newsom had with a mom overcome with grief. She had lost her home. Her daughter lost her school. She lost everything and was apoplectic, as most Angelinos are, at the horrific response

Outrage is boiling over after revelations that the Santa Ynez Reservoir, a critical water source in Pacific Palisades, was empty and offline when a devastating wildfire ripped through the area. The Los Angeles Times reported that despite the reservoir’s critical role in the city’s water infrastructure, it had been offline for nearly a year. The Santa Ynez Reservoir, with a capacity of 117 million gallons, could have played a critical role in providing water pressure to firefighters battling the devastating fire that destroyed thousands of homes and buildings in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Malibu.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who will now be forever known as the weirdo who ran with Kamala Harris in 2024 and failed, is now endorsing gun control activist David Hogg in his bid to be vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. The 2024 election showed that Democrats have a serious problem with men, who are fleeing their party in droves. It’s not clear how having David Hogg in a leadership position would do anything to help fix this problem for them. None of that seems to matter to Walz, who believes Hogg will provide the ‘courageous leadership our party needs right now.’

California Gov. Gavin Newsom sent a letter to President-elect Donald Trump on Friday, inviting him to come see the effects of the wildfires in Los Angeles for himself. In the letter, Newsom invites Trump to come see the damage, meet with first responders and displaced victims and thank firefighters and emergency personnel for their work. "In the spirit of this great country, we must not politicize human tragedy or spread disinformation from the sidelines," Newsom wrote. "Hundreds of thousands of Americans — displaced from their homes and fearful for the future — deserve to see all of us working in their best interests to ensure a fast recovery and rebuild."

Gavin Newsom is coming under fire for slashing California's funding for wildfire and forest resilience by $101 million less than a year before devastating fires tore through Los Angeles. The Democrat California Governor signed the budget cuts into law in June 2024, severing funding from seven programs focused on preventing and battling potential wildfires in the state, reports Newsweek. Cuts included a $5 million decrease to the CAL FIRE fuel reduction teams, which included funding to pay for vegetation management work by the California National Guard, an analysis by the outlet found.
