MSNBC’s Joy Reid and Stephanie Ruhle will reportedly need to take a pay cut if they want to remain in their anchor chairs as the struggling cable network continues to cut costs. The left-leaning news channel — which recently gave star anchor Rachel Maddow a $5 million-a-year haircut from her annual $30 million haul — has been negotiating with Reid and Ruhle on new deals at reduced salaries, according to the Ankler newsletter. The controversial Reid is believed to be earning $3 million a year to host her nightly 8 p.m. show, “The ReidOut,” according to the Washington Free Beacon. Pay cuts will n out change the message. It's the message that is running viewers off. No viewers, no money. So if one pays Joy to spew her current hate for less money, will people say, oh, at least the hate speech is cheaper now so I guess I'll watch'? This is one time that removing the messenger will remove the message. Then a new messenger with a new message, say, the truth, can be installed. Then, maybe, just maybe, MSDNC can survive.

Time to tell Maddow to give up her big bucks. (Why they pay her anything is beyond me.) Throw all the money into one pot and divide it. If these are their stars they are in serious trouble. The only time I watch them is when someone is making fun of them on youtube or when they are showing them meltdown over Trump's win. I hope they saved some of their inflated salaries.

The best thing is, this is also a cut in their massive egos. The message is, you're just not worth what we have been paying you. It's hard to see how, with a 60% drop in ratings, that they can afford to pay any of these people anything. It's also hard to see how, with their attitudes, that they are going to see any improvement any time soon, if ever.

If CNN really thought that were worth those exorbitant salaries, they wouldn't cut their pay. They aren't earning the kind of money they were getting. It's dollars and cents. Watch, more cuts are coming across the board, but those making outrageous salaries are just the first. I see more cuts down the road for them as CNN continues to circle the drain.

Hapless Gov. Hochul is desperate and running

Well over a year out from her next election, Gov. Kathy Hochul is looking desperate — and hapless. The latest sign: She’s sent in another 250 National Guard to “help keep the subway safe” for Christmas shopping season and maybe beyond. Yet the guardsmen legally can’t do most law enforcement, just check bags. They’re not getting that raving madman off the platform, sorry. But the 1,000 total Guard help provide a “sense of security,” the gov insists. Merry Christmas! At least that’s not as insulting as her claim that she’s saving us money by imposing congestion-pricing tolls of “only” $9 instead of the $15 originally planned.

As drone sightings over New Jersey continue to raise questions, a new tool could bring answers about the source of these flying vehicles — if the government could get it off the ground. Earlier this year, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) began requiring all unmanned aircraft systems to be equipped with Remote ID technology, which makes every equipped drone uniquely identifiable to authorities, like a license plate on a car. The FAA announced that it would provide a database that could be accessed by local law enforcement, but nearly one year later, local authorities still can't get into it themselves.

President-elect Donald Trump took an unprecedented step by filing an amicus brief in a legal battle involving outgoing President Joe Biden’s defiant decision to sell off border wall materials initially designated to secure the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Trump, who made the construction of the border wall a cornerstone of his first presidency, sharply criticized the Biden Administration's "fire sale" of such materials, suggesting the action is "possibly criminal." Late Thursday, Trump took legal matters to a Texas court to urge a federal judge to immediately halt the ongoing sale of border-barrier materials until a thorough investigation of the Biden Administration’s conduct regarding the border wall is complete.

Over the summer, the Kamala Harris campaign tried to brand Vance as ‘weird’ but it didn’t stick, especially as people got to know Kamala’s running mate Tim Walz, who genuinely seemed weird. Once the VP debate happened, any questions people still had about JD Vance were answered. He came across as a smart, decent man who was worthy of the public’s trust.
