President Biden called on Americans Wednesday to “put politics aside” to focus on Hurricane Helene recovery efforts — moments before stepping on his own message by saying that anyone who doubts climate change’s role in the disaster “must be brain dead.”
“In a moment like this, we put politics aside, at least we should put it all aside, and we have here,” the retiring 81-year-old president said during a recovery briefing in Raleigh, NC.
“There are no Democrats or Republicans, there are only Americans, and our job is to help as many people as we can, as quickly as we can, and as thoroughly as we can.”

Former President Donald Trump slammed the Department of Justice (DOJ) for unsealing a motion from Special Counsel Jack Smith regarding Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, describing it as a “hit job.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that the Democrat Party was “weaponizing” the DOJ against him “because they know” he is winning, pointing out that this unsealed motion came after Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), Trump’s vice presidential running mate, “humiliated” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) in the vice presidential debate on Tuesday.

Tim Walz continued his self-implosion on Wednesday as reporters pressed him on two of his worst moments during his debate against JD Vance.
As RedState reported, Walz struggled throughout the night against Vance, who was far more poised and articulate, never mind having the issues on his side. There was one specific instance where the Minnesota governor was pushed on a falsehood he told about being in Hong Kong for the Tiananmen Square protests. Walz proceeded to melt down on stage, with an especially awkward moment toward the end of the exchange. Here's the video for those that didn't see it.

Joe Biden was at it again on Wednesday throwing Israel under the bus again when it comes to Iran.
Biden is always coming down Israel's throat when they're trying to deal with terrorists. As we have previously reported, he is saying that he would not support Israel taking out Iran's nuclear capability and that any response had to be "proportionate." Presumably, he meant "proportionate" to the ballistic missile attack that Iran launched on Israel on Monday. (X Video) Once again, there he goes trying to tie Israel's hands to something he deems "proportionate."

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff reportedly paid $80,000 in “hush money” to his former nanny as part of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) but was not prosecuted, unlike Trump.
Former President Donald Trump was prosecuted in New York and convicted on 34 counts for failing to list NDA payments to porn star Stormy Daniels (a.k.a. Stephanie Clifford) as campaign expenses (he denies the affair).
Democrats, including Emhoff’s wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, have referred to Trump as a “convicted felon,” referring to the New York case. Yet Emhoff, too, allegedly paid “hush money.”

In a bizarre post-debate analysis, Politico magazine has looked into the supposed significance of J.D. Vance’s facial hair.
After Vance gave his fellow vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz during Tuesday night’s vice-presidential debate, Politico sought to dissect the candidate’s body language, including their physical features.
The piece, written by body language expert Joe Navarro, explains:
One of the first bits of nonverbal communication to appear in the debate was on JD Vance’s face: his beard. As POLITICO Magazine has noted before, Vance is the first White House wannabe to wear facial hair in 80 years.

Washington— Donald Trump laid the groundwork to try to overturn the 2020 election even before he lost, knowingly pushed false claims of voter fraud and “resorted to crimes” in his failed bid to cling to power, according to a newly unsealed court filing from prosecutors that lays out fresh details from the landmark criminal case against the former president.
The filing from special counsel Jack Smith’s team offers the most comprehensive view to date of what prosecutors intend to prove if the case charging Trump with conspiring to overturn the election reaches trial.

Elon Musk secretly funded a conservative political group in recent years, according to four people familiar with his donations, illustrating quiet financial support for right-wing causes even before the billionaire entrepreneur in July endorsed former President Donald Trump's bid for re-election.
Two of the people familiar with the donations told Reuters that Musk's contributions to the organization, Building America's Future, had started by 2022. One of those people and a third source said the donations amounted to millions of dollars, significantly boosting a group whose advertisements and social media campaigns have criticized the Biden administration and progressive political platforms of the sort that Musk himself has increasingly denounced.

Vice presidential debates don’t matter, we have been assured over and over. No one votes for vice president or a presidential nominee for her or his choice of running mate. You can go back and look at snap polls taken after past vice presidential debates and find basically zero correlation with the final election results.
All that said, the debate between Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) may turn out to matter. There’s no question, certainly, about who came out ahead. As Joe Klein, a heartfelt opponent of former President Donald Trump, led off, “Well, we saw the high school studies teacher destroyed

Some things are true — for collectivist communists and individualist capitalists, for all people, regardless of who they are.
For decades now, Americans have been inundated with propaganda that the only entity that cares for them is found in the Democrat party, as collectivism has been promoted as America’s savior and individualism and individual liberty have been castigated as “selfish” and self-serving. But although there is no shame in looking out for one’s own interests, there is plenty of shame in it when you put the entire population and the nation at risk in the process, which is precisely what the International Longshoreman’s Association is doing,

There was one objective for JD Vance last night: introduce himself to American voters who only know him through the media they follow. They’ve heard he was “weird.” They’ve seen memes where he called women “childless cat ladies.” They’ve seen one picture after another demonizing, mocking, and attempting to invent a cartoon character of their version of JD Vance. In other words, they’ve dehumanized him.
Well, they all have dripping, icky, rotten egg on their faces today after JD Vance’s masterful debate performance, one that will easily make and define his political career and go down as one of the all-time best debate performances in history.

Yes.

I think most of the people got that JD Vance beat Tim Walz in the VP debate on Tuesday -- and it wasn't even close.
The focus groups and even the liberal media snap polls all seemed to be for Vance, so you know there was no real question about the matter.
That said, of course, MSNBC was losing their minds trying to figure out how to spin it. Nicolle Wallace had a meltdown. She tried to claim that by correcting the female moderators about an immigration issue, that he was "mansplaining." Talk about copium. Tuesday’s vice presidential debate between Republican Sen. JD Vance of Ohio and Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz brought together two candidates with different visions for the future of America.
Their body language also sharply contrasted with one another as Vance espoused a sense of calmness and command of the issues, whereas Walz appeared nervous and overly fidgety at times, although he did manage to find his stride later in the debate, body language expert Carole Lieberman, M.D., tells Fox News Digital.

JD Vance turned in an excellent performance last night. He was the most coherent and, I think, the most likable of any of the four candidates who have taken the debate stage this cycle. In comparison, Tim Walz presented a sad spectacle. He got off to a terrible start, visibly nervous and largely incoherent. He got a little stronger as the evening went on, but the damage was done. And his “I am a knucklehead” will go down in presidential debate annals.
But since people don’t care much about vice presidents, the real targets in the debate were Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

The debate really depressed me. It wasn’t J.D. Vance, who gave the best debate performance of any political candidate in decades. Nor was it Tim Walz because I knew going in that he was, as he described himself, a “knucklehead.” It wasn’t even the biased harpies who called themselves moderators because that was to be expected (although they angered me). What depressed me was that our political discourse has devolved into watching candidates get asked stupid questions so that they can give canned statements for two minutes and then bicker for a few seconds with each other.

There is a hot new play currently running off-Broadway in New York.
From the website: “Fatherland is the true story of an 18-year-old son who turned in his father to the FBI for his militant role in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. Fast-paced and powerful, Fatherland has landed off-Broadway following a sold-out Los Angeles run which the LA Times hails "will leave you shaken." When Kamala Harris was picking her running mate this summer, it was Tim Walz’s characterization of J.D. Vance and Donald Trump as “weird” in a series of TV interviews that helped earn him his spot on the ticket. In the weeks that followed, Republicans turned the insult on the Minnesota governor, accusing him of being a bit of a weirdo himself. (Their pretty flimsy case is based on Walz’s sometimes exuberant body language.) But last night’s debate between Vance and Walz was surprisingly, almost disconcertingly, normal.

What’s the main argument you hear from Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or any surrogate: it was chaos under Donald Trump? That’s one of the go-to lines that has been shouted incessantly, yet no one cares. Kamala Harris isn’t pulling away, and she’s projected to be the worst-performing Democrat ever among union and working-class voters. The economic message isn’t resonating, likely because voters aren’t stupid; her domestic plan is a carbon copy of Joe Biden’s. Kamala is the incumbent. She cannot run away from it. For years, Americans have watched as our country has been stripped of our jobs and stripped of our wealth. We've watched our companies get sold off to foreign countries. But with my plan for the American economy, this will stop immediately. When I am president, we will begin to take other countries' jobs and factories, bringing businesses and trillions of dollars back to the United States. Under my plan, American workers will no longer be worried about losing their jobs to foreign nations. Instead, foreign nations will be worried about losing their jobs to Americans. German car companies can become American car companies. We can beat China in electronic production.

Donald Trump's running mate J.D. Vance can leave New York as the victor after his one and only debate with vice presidential rival Tim Walz, according to DailyMail.com's exclusive snap poll.
The CBS showdown just 35 days before the general election was a chance for the vice presidential picks to prove that they're qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
The candidates tangled over issues like abortion, immigration, gun violence and the Middle East. The two also took plenty of chances to present each other as extreme or 'weird'.

On Tuesday, Iran attacked Israel with ballistic missiles, not long after the White House warned that Iran would be "imminently" launching such an attack. Five weeks from Election Day, a foreign policy crisis looks to potentially affect not only the presidential election, but key Senate races as well. The Biden-Harris administration has been slammed as a failure, especially as Vice President Kamala Harris' diplomatic warnings of "don't" from last year unsurprisingly failed. The administration has also been lifting sanctions on Iran, even and including after Iran's proxies had attacked Israel last year.

J.D. Vance won the vice presidential debate tonight. Anyone who watched the whole event knows this is true.
Even the analysts at CNN.
In their post-debate spin room, CNN’s Abby Phillip said that Walz did not seem prepared and that Vance landed a lot of punches.

Jake Tapper also said that Vance was the better debater. Watch: (X Video) If even CNN is admitting that Vance won, you know it’s true.

Social media marveled at JD Vance's 'pretty eyes' as Google searches for eyeliner exploded during his VP debate against Tim Walz.
The high-stakes showdown between GOP Sen. J.D. Vance and Democratic Gov. Tim Walz comes with just 35 days left until the election and with polls showing it could be one of the closest races in decades.
However, some on X getting a first look at Vance seemed entranced by the Ohio Senator's eyes. Even Democrats seemed taken with Vance, one writing: 'I don't know much about Vance, but I'm entranced by his icy blue eyes,' before clarifying she wasn't voting for him.

Top political anchors at liberal news outlets panned Democratic vice presidential hopeful Tim Walz’s debate performance Tuesday, with one journalist likening it to President Biden’s disastrous June showdown with former President Donald Trump.
“It kind of reminded me of the June 27 debate, when Kamala Harris that night said of Joe Biden, ‘It was a slow start, but a strong finish,’” ABC News anchor Linsey Davis of the Minnesota governor’s matchup against Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio).
“And that’s how I felt Tim Walz kind of did tonight,” she added.

After hardly speaking to the media since becoming Democrats’ Vice Presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stumbled and gaffed through his highly anticipated debate against Senator JD Vance. Vance and Walz faced off Monday on CBS News in what appears to be the last debate of the 2024 election cycle. Vance, who has done about seven times more media appearances than the Harris-Walz ticket combined, was noticeably confident next to Walz, who tripped through his defense of past lies.

There are bad debates. Then there are massacres. Then there's what happened to Tim Walz as he imploded all over the stage during his debate with JD Vance.
We've written about the problems Kamala Harris has had with speaking, but Walz was just an utter mess. It started off badly, with Walz looking scared to death and like he didn't want to be there. (X) Walz spoke about October 7 and that Hamas terrorists massacred Israelis, and took "prisoners." No, Tim, they took hostages.

On Tuesday night, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) clobbered Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) in the vice presidential debate hosted by CBS News. Not long after, snap polls came in, with both CBS News and CNN showing that Vance bested Walz. According to the CBS News poll, 42 percent of debate watchers said that Vance won, while 41 percent said so about Vance. Seventeen percent said it was a tie. (X's) Shortly before midnight, CNN released the results of their own snap poll, which showed Vance leading 51-49 percent when it comes to who debate watchers thought won the debate.

I don't know what the viewership numbers were on the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, but if they're not high they should have been because that was one of the best debates I've ever watched in my time as a political junkie (which goes back a looong time).
Vance, as RedState previously reported, wiped the floor not just with Walz but also the CBS News debate moderators, who did what they weren't supposed to do at least twice in "fact-checking" Vance, only to have him refuse to be silenced by fact-checking them right back.
