After hardly speaking to the media since becoming Democrats’ Vice Presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stumbled and gaffed through his highly anticipated debate against Senator JD Vance. Vance and Walz faced off Monday on CBS News in what appears to be the last debate of the 2024 election cycle. Vance, who has done about seven times more media appearances than the Harris-Walz ticket combined, was noticeably confident next to Walz, who tripped through his defense of past lies.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing federal criminal charges, according to CBS News, the BBC's US partner. Adams, 64, was elected to lead the most populous US city nearly three years ago on a promise to rein in crime. But he and a string of top officials in his orbit have faced growing scrutiny as part of multiple federal corruption probes. The indictment remains sealed but would make Adams, 64, the first mayor in city history to be charged while in office.

Tim Walz is many things: a Super Bowl-winning head coach, a purple heart Navy SEAL who was shot during the raid on Bin Laden’s compound and a renowned MIT professor. Not least of all, he is also a normal dude, you know? An average Joe, like you and me, who enjoys garage beers, Zyn, maybe some golf on the weekends. A real mensch.

Vladimir Putin has made a surprising endorsement for who he wants to win the 2024 US election. The Russian president has long been considered friendlier with this year's Republican nominee Donald Trump, with the former president calling Mr Putin a "genius" early in 2022. But speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, he said Kamala Harris was Russia's preferred choice for the next US president.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia’s secretary of state on Thursday came out against election rule changes pending before the State Election Board, specifically rejecting a proposal to count ballots by hand at polling places on election night. At a meeting in July, the board advanced a proposal that would require three separate poll workers to count ballots at voting precincts on election night to make sure they match the number of ballots recorded by voting machines. That proposal has been posted for public comment and the board is set to vote Monday whether to adopt it.

Kamala Harris’ legislative record is full of diversity initiatives, climate bills, social justice salvos and other left-wing priorities that eventually secured her the title of Congress’ “most liberal” senator of 2019. GovTrack, a website that tracks legislation and votes in Congress, deleted the report card that gave Harris that ranking, however. Harris, who Californians first elected to the Senate in 2016, sponsored a slate of legislation that favored far-left projects during her four years in the Senate.

In a leaked audio recording posted on social media, New Mexico Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham can be heard expressing deep frustration with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and threatening to send a letter accusing his department of failing to work with her on border security. “For the love of god, put [Border Patrol agents] at the border in Sunland Park where I don’t have a single Border Patrol agent — not one. And people pour over. And so I’m cranky with the Secretary,” Grisham is heard saying in the audio, which was first posted by an anonymous account on X.

Wish JD spent more time pointing out the CBS broke the rules they agreed on and therefore they have no integrity.
