Conservative criminal defense attorney and columnist Marina Medvin called it a "devastating Hostage negotiations update" because that's exactly what it is. In the ongoing negotiations between Israel and the Hamas terror organization, Hamas officials now say that "they wouldn’t commit to releasing 40 living hostages but could commit to 40 hostages total, dead or alive."
Medvin added, "Israeli military did not comment on estimates of how many hostages may remain alive."
"Instead, the militant group has been unable to confirm that it has enough civilian hostages to fulfill its end of the deal in the initial phase of the proposed plan," according to the Wall Street Journal.

Israel, do what you need to do. They will be back to finish the job if you don't.

Unfortunately, it was obvious from the start that if Israel really was serious about eliminating Hamas, they would have to write off the hostages. This is clearly not something the families of the hostages would like to hear, but it is the reality of warfare and trying to deal with people as evil as Hamas. I hope Israel sees this through and finishes off these animals.

Is anyone really surprised? The released hostages, who were only held for a few weeks, told of threats, mistreatment and near starvation. How could any of the remaining, especially the sick, injured and elderly, have survived for 6 months? If there is any exchange, let it be evenly, the dead for the dead.

A majority of the hostages were most likely killed or died shortly after they were taken hostage on October 7. Hamas and the Palestinian civilians who helped them hide the hostages are all guilty of their murders. If any are still alive, you can bet they are well hidden deep within the tunnel system or up front to be used as human shields. THe evil of Hamas cannot be allowed to continue if there is ever to be any sort of peace and security in Israel. Unfortunately, for every Hamas killer taken out by the IDF, there are 10 other militant Palestinian killers waiting to take their place.

By rights, Israel should return all the Palestinian prisoners in a swap. Of course, they should all be in body bags (2-3 bodies per bag, which is better for the environment).

Level Gaza. No Hamas must be alive at the end. Ground Gaza into pebbles. Leave no stone unturned. Eradicate Hamas from the face of the Earth. Pound sand Joey Baby, pound sand.

Cruelty to Hamas will not be helpful. This is a war. If Hamas does not surrender unconditionally and disband, Israel should bring the war to a conclusion, Hamas utterly defeated, in as efficient manner as possible.
Then they should create security in Gaza that, as much as possible, ensures them that there will not be a repeat of Oct 7th. HOW they do that seems almost impossible to me. How can you leave a fanatic enemy on your doorsteps? Hamas was the face of the Palestinians but the Palestinians aided and abetted Hamas.

Yes. I figured that they were all killed within a week or two of capture. Any that weren't found quickly were probably either murdered outright, or so maltreated, intentionally, that they died.
Kill all Hamas.
No prisoners.

The Nazis in Germany were also a fanatical, ideologically driven enemy...and after defeating them in battle, and completely disassembling their military capability, their leaders were prosecuted for war crimes, their system of government was replaced with one more civilzed, and their country has been militarily occupied by NATO for the last 80 years to make sure the Nazis don't reassert themselves. Having proven themselves incapable of self-governance in a civilized world, the Nazis were not allowed to do so.
I suggest that experience has proven itself, and a similar approach is the only one that will work for Gaza.

It has been around 6 months since Hamas/Hezbollah and IRAN attacked Israel. Does anyone really think they kept hostages alive that long? I seriously doubt it. What ever food the hostages SHOULD have had was likely stolen by the "Palestinians", OR Hamas took the money for food and bought Crack for their pipes!
It is way past time to fully eliminate all of the Terrorists, including Iran!

Have you seen any time-dated/verified videos or pics of the hostages since October 7th? Nope. It is because they probably aren't alive anymore or still alive but kept completely out of sight.
Bibi, at the least, demand date-verified proof they are still alive. If not, then demand in-person verifiable visual contact with all of the hostages. If that fails, just tell the hamas thugs to go pound sand. Meanwhile, continue to eradicate hamas.

It took decades for US/Allies to de-Nazify Germany after WWII. Israel needs to take the same approach and de-Hamas Gaza.

Israel no doubt has lots of people experienced in the retrieval of hostages. These experts should have sat down with the hostage families two weeks in and explained the realities.

Have to believe that some of the hostages tried to get out and were killed during the attempt.
Hostages are the only effective weapon Hamas has. If they run out, they will kidnap more of them.
