Ruth Bader Ginsburg's family has denounced an award in her name being given to Elon Musk and Rupert Murdoch, among others. The Opperman Foundation has since 2020 bestowed the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Leadership Award to extraordinary people. Actor Sylvester Stallone, financier Michael Milken, and fashion icon Martha Stewart will receive the award this year along with Musk and Murdoch. Ginsburg, the legendary late Supreme Court justice, consistently supported progressive positions during her 27 years on the bench. Her family lashed out at the foundation's choices as 'an affront to the memory of our mother and grandmother', without singling out the two conservative billionaires.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed a Texas law to take effect that enables state law enforcement to arrest people they suspect are illegally entering the United States from Mexico.
The three liberal justices publicly dissented from the court’s order clearing the way for the controversial statute, SB4. The order is not a final decision, and the case could return to the high court.
The Biden administration had urged the justices to block the law, passed by Texas’s Republican-controlled legislature last year, asserting it is an “unprecedented intrusion into federal immigration enforcement.”

The Supreme Court has announced that the bar exam is no longer a requirement for those who aspire to be practicing lawyers. The Bar Licensure Task Force claims that the exam is only minimally effective in measuring competency and noted its unfair barrier to marginalized communities aspiring to practice law, according to the Washington Administrative Office of the Courts. The Task Force on Bar Licensure found that the usual bar exam unfairly stops people from underrepresented groups from entering the legal profession.

Elon Musk abruptly canceled “The Don Lemon Show” hours after sitting down for an interview with the canned CNN anchor that was supposed to serve as his premiere episode on the platform, Lemon said Wednesday.
Lemon had taped the sitdown with the billionaire owner of X, SpaceX and Tesla on Friday.
“Elon Musk has canceled the partnership I had with X,” Lemon said in a statement posted to the social media site.
