On Thursday, March 21, one of the Democratic party’s most accomplished campaign consultants will die. In a sense, Hal Malchow has been planning for this day ever since 1987, when a genetic marker test revealed he was likely to develop Alzheimer’s. At the time, he was barely 35 years old, a hustling political operative who had recently come off managing Al Gore’s first Senate campaign while overcome with worry about his mother’s early descent into dementia. (Around her 50th birthday, she was discovered wandering lost in a parking lot in the Mississippi town where she had lived her whole life.) After his mother’s untimely death, in 1990,

While I am saddened by his decision to commit suicide, I note he has realized what we in the GOP must know as well. He advises advertising the Dim PARTY not just a specific candidate. We have to also recognize that this Fall's race is not simply for the Presidency or any other individual office or candidate. In November we must ensure that EVERY race is our GOP vs those who espouse hateful, anti-American ideas. There is NO-ONE in the Dim Party who should be tolerated because ALL their current policies are at odds with our history and Constitutional Republic and virtually none of them ever vote outside of what they are instructed to do.

Four years ago my mother perished with Alzheimer's. It was tough watching this highly educated, well traveled former schoolteacher gradually lose the world around her. That's a cruel way to go. However, I can't quite wrap my head around this Gore acolyte's decision to leave the world via lethal medicine administered at a certain time like a condemned murderer on death row. Suicide may be painless; it does cause many changes. But it's not moral.

Nevada hasn't voted Republican in a presidential election since 2004. I have to admit that I'd nearly given up on the state, as hopes of being competitive there have been repeatedly shattered. But Donald Trump appears to be in a solid position to win it in November. He's led in the RealClear Politics average in Nevada since early November, with an average spread of +4.3 points. In 2020, Trump never led Biden in the RCP average there. Something has definitely changed. Naturally, Democrats have to be worried. Even though Nevada only has six Electoral College votes, those are six votes that could make Trump's path to 270 much easier.

"Outlaw your car" sounds like such an outrageous phrase, and technically speaking, it isn't true — but only barely. What practical difference is there between outlawing something, and regulating it out of existence? That's exactly what the EPA intends to do this week with strict new rules going forward against gas- and diesel-powered cars and light trucks. Expected as soon as Wednesday, the Biden EPA "is poised to finalize emissions rules that will effectively require a certain percentage — as much as two-thirds by 2032 — of new cars to be all-electric," according to Inside EVs. Politico sells the expected rule as one that would "tackle the nation’s biggest source

Washington — The Supreme Court on Monday heard arguments in a case that tests how far the federal government can go in pressuring social media companies to remove content it believes spreads misinformation before it crosses a constitutional line. The case, known as Murthy v. A U.S. district court judge said White House officials, as well as some federal agencies and their employees, violated the First Amendment's

The Biden administration finalized a rule on Wednesday that’s expected to make a significant amount of the new car market electric or hybrid. An administration official told reporters Tuesday that under the new rule, 56 percent of the new vehicles on the market in 2032 could be battery electric, while an additional 13 percent could be plug-in hybrids. That’s up from a collective 16 percent of sales being electric and hybrid cars last year. The rule is a cornerstone of the Biden administration’s climate agenda, as the cars and other light-duty vehicles it regulates currently make up about 17 percent of U.S. planet-warming emissions. The rule also regulates medium-duty vehicles. But

A new capital would signify a new beginning for the nation. Everyone who has seen the play Hamilton knows that the nation’s capital was moved to the present site in the District of Columbia due to a dinner-table bargain in 1790 between Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Hamilton needed Jefferson’s support in Congress to win approval for federal assumption of revolutionary war debts; in return, Jefferson wanted Hamilton’s support in moving the capital from New York City to a location nearer to the population and geographical center of the country, later carved out between the states of Maryland and Virginia.
