American Paralysis and Decline

We can bear neither our diseases nor their remedies." So shrugged the ancient historian Livy (59 B.C.-17 A.D.) of the long decline of Roman national character that, in his age, finally ended the Roman Republic. Like a patient whose medicine proves worse than the disease, Livy lamented that the Romans knew that they had become corrupt and lawless. But the very contemplation of the hard medicine needed for restoration -- and the furious reaction that would meet the remedy -- made it impossible to save the patient. America is nearing such an impasse.

The sons and daughters of the hippies are in charge now and its full speed toward the workers paradise that Lenin,Stalin,Mao,and Pol Pot promised...

Instead of vaccines that kill targeted ethnic groups, maybe the CIA should look into ones that kill pedophiles or corrupt politicians. That would fix our problem pretty quick.

FTA: 'So it leaves the next generation to be smeared as "cruel" and "unfair" when it is forced to cut federal entitlements and bloated government or face civilizational collapse.' But that is exactly what the Evil Left is forcing on us, collapse. Like developers who desire to replace a derelict building, on a valuable piece of real estate, they know they must first acquire the property, next demolish the building, clear the site, and then erect their incomparably beautiful 'Shrine Of Communism' on the spot. Soebarkah got the deed to the land, the Vegetable is doing the demo. Who will build the shrine?

'Slowly, then suddenly' I could see what was happening up until September 10th '01. Then, at 9AM next day, I came here to L.com and read that a jet had hit the WTC. It happened suddenly. Since then, I never know what to expect when I get my coffee and read the news, but I suspect it will be sudden. Then we'll all go back to sleep,.. if we're not dead.

That fall in #7 (the fall out of the tree of liberty) probably began earlier than that; but our plummet has been paused a few times on the way down by grabbing a few branches (like Trump and Reagan) or hitting other branches (like the Bushes, no pun intended). One might suggest that we hit the ground with Obama's admins, and that Trump45 was the proverbial 'dead cat bounce'. I.e. we may already be a heap of national wreckage, while the carrion gather 'round to feast on our carcass.

Had a thought a while back. Nothing lasts forever. Not sure what brought it on or where it came from, but it's there now. Sadly, I think that thought 'Nothing lasts forever' will include the United States. We will all be witness to it. Our problems are insurmountable. What brought them on is human nature. You can't fix stupidity. You can't fix dishonesty.

We the people failed to do the necessary and diligent oversight of what our elected officials at all levels DID as opposed to what they pledged at campaign time. We have kept known crooks, cowards, and self-serving career politicians in House and Senate. We are reaping exactly what we have sown. I believe the election and then reelection of Barack Obama began our real trajectory downward.

Do not dismiss the effect of the Lamestream Media in the destruction of our Republic. Any time anyone tries to fix any one of the problems staring us in the face, the Media goes into Overdrive to DEMONIZE them. Remember when G.W. Bush tried to get Congress to pass laws allowing people to put Some of their Social Security tax money in their OWN account? Remember when Trump announced that he was going to Build the WALL? Those are only two of an endless series of examples. In every case, the Lamestreams do everything to DEMONIZE and DESTROY the people working to prevent the COLLAPSE of our once-great America. As far as I can tell, the REAL rot started with Lyin' Lyndon Johnson and his 'Great Society' welfare laws, which destroyed black families on an Industrial scale and led to the social collapse in the Democ'RAT cities and the creation of the Welfare State, which in turn led to the impending Financial COLLAPSE that we are facing today.

Gearing Up for ‘Biden’ Versus Trump:
Not If, But When and How to Replace Biden

President Joe Biden is declining at a geometric, not an arithmetic, rate. His cognitive challenges are multifaceted. His gait is shaky. His daily use of stairs now risks the chance of a tenure-ending fall. Even when he sticks to the teleprompter, he so slurs his speech, mispronounces words, and glides his syntax that at times he becomes as incomprehensible at the podium as he is unsteady in his step. He now speaks a strange language foreign and untranslatable to most Americans. White House transcribers leave hiatuses in their written texts of his remarks to reflect that they either have no idea what he said, do not wish to publicize their guesses

A potential helium reservoir was discovered in Minnesota last week, when drillers bored deep beneath the forest floor of the state’s Iron Range as supplies of the noble gas dwindle in the U.S. Pulsar Helium Inc., a Canadian-based company, announced in a news release on Thursday that its team encountered gases with concentrations of up to 12.4% helium when its drilling rig reached a total depth of 2,200 at the Topaz Project drill site. Helium concentrations above 0.3% are considered economically viable. Thomas Abraham-James, Pulsar’s president and CEO, said he is "delighted" about the "outstanding result."

In 1892, Lord Alfred Bruce Douglas, Oscar Wilde's lover, wrote a poem called "Two Loves" which referred euphemistically to "the love that dare not speak its name." At that time, homosexuals were expected to keep their sexual orientation and relationships secret. In 1986, Norman Podhoretz published a groundbreaking essay in Commentary Magazine called "The Hate That Dare Not Speak Its Name," which put the subject of antisemitism in American journalism on the public radar. Now it's time for America to confront the Abuse That Dare Not Speak Its Name: elder abuse. And the victim is none other than President Joe Biden.

Last week Republicans lost one of their precious seats in the House of Representatives reducing their slim majority to near invisibility. Interestingly, this did not have to happen. The vacancy giving rise to the special election in New York 3, was intentionally created by the Republicans themselves. A cynic might say with opponents like these, the Democrats can stroll through their victory lap. An influential group of Republican congressmen, including the Republican Chair of the House Ethics Committee, decided the behavior, or misbehavior, of their erstwhile colleague, George Santos, was unworthy of a Republican Congressman.

Indeed, defense attorney Harry MacDougald cited six examples of actual conflicts of interest, any one of which is sufficient to disqualify Willis and her office. Yet it’s unlikely that it will happen.
