Illegal Aliens to Get Interest-Free Home
Loans Under New Democrat-Backed California Bill

Meanwhile in the Democrat hellhole of California… Illegal aliens will get interest-free home mortgage loans under a new California bill. Democrat assemblymember Joaquin Arambula (Fresno) recently introduced Assembly Bill 1840 to extend a first-time homebuyer loan program to illegal aliens. If the bill becomes law, illegal aliens will be eligible for a new program that offers a loan worth 20% of the purchase price of the residential property. There are no monthly payments and no interest accrues on the loan. Rather, the loan is paid back when the borrower refinances or sells the property.

This is insanity. I know younger couples who have been working their tails off to buy a house and we’re going to give these lawbreakers interest free loans. Coming to a subdivision near you. Lovely. I’m getting angrier every single day.

Dem supermajorities in the General Assembly will usher this to the Governor's desk. The only hope is that Brylcreem, being astute enough to know that illegal immigration has become political kryptonite, will not want it hanging around his neck on the outside chance that he finds himself campaigning for the White House this summer.

we've witnessed this before, when the dinosaur bawdy frank stomped the earth, ruining the housing industry. affordable housing loans were given only to illegals, to buy into a project in stockton. they were told, in spanish, they would not have to pay the mortgage-and didn't. the new houses were stripped to the foundations. the building materials were carted off by night to mexico. they returned by night once again, to break up, and cart off, the cement foundations.

Inflation has changed the way many Americans shop. Now, those changes in consumer habits are helping bring down inflation. Fed up with prices that remain about 19%, on average, above where they were before the pandemic, consumers are fighting back. In grocery stores, they're shifting away from name brands to store-brand items, switching to discount stores or simply buying fewer items like snacks or gourmet foods. More Americans are buying used cars, too, rather than new, forcing some dealers to provide discounts on new cars again.
Alaska lawmaker’s bid to revive stalled

Burning coal to make electricity generates significantly more carbon pollution than using natural gas for the same purpose. But a new bill drafted by Sutton Republican Rep. George Rauscher still seeks to define coal-generated electricity as “clean energy” — putting it on the same footing as wind, solar, tidal and hydroelectric power. The proposed legislation, House Bill 368, is Rauscher’s bid to advance an energy policy debate that has otherwise stalled at the Alaska Capitol. “There’s a reality to keeping the lights on and keeping everybody warm today,” Rauscher said. “As opposed to the vision of what we’re going to have in the future.”

A new hostage deal between Israel and Hamas could be in the works, war cabinet minister Benny Gantz declared on Monday, but if the sides fail to reach an agreement Israel will invade the southern Gaza city of Rafah over Ramadan. There are “initial signs that indicate the possibility of moving forward” on a new framework, Gantz told reporters during a press conference at IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv, pledging to “leave no stone unturned” in the effort to free those kidnapped on October 7. He did not offer further details, but unconfirmed reports in Arabic media Wednesday claimed Hamas had softened its position somewhat,

US District Judge Cormac J. Carney on Wednesday dismissed charges against Robert Rundo — who was extradited from Romania last year — and Robert Bowman from Torrance. Rundo is accused of being a founding member of the Rise Above Movement, or RAM, a white supremacist group that describes itself as “a combat-ready, militant group of a new nationalist white supremacy and identity movement,”

Pope Francis said Sunday that military disarmament is not optional but constitutes a “moral obligation” for all nations. Following his weekly Angelus address in Saint Peter’s Square, the pontiff recalled that March 5 marks the second International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness. “How many resources are wasted on military expenditure, which, because of the current situation, sadly continues to increase!” he told the estimated 20,000 tourists and pilgrims gathered in the square. (snip) Francis is also the only pope to ever declare that not only the use of nuclear weapons, but also their mere possession “is immoral.”

Nikki Haley has won the Republican primary in the District of Columbia, notching her first victory of the 2024 campaign. Her victory Sunday at least temporarily halts Donald Trump’s sweep of the GOP voting contests, although the former president is likely to pick up several hundred more delegates in this week’s Super Tuesday races. Despite her early losses, Haley has said she would remain in the race at least through those contests, although she has declined to name any primary she felt confident she would win. Following last week’s loss in her home state of South Carolina,

This week all eyes were on the Willis-Wade fiasco in Fulton County, Georgia, but three less smuttily scintillating cases seem at last to be limiting the overreach of the Department of Justice respecting the J6 defendants and Jack Smith’s persecution of President Donald Trump. In interpreting criminal statutes, it seems to me that Courts should not be creative and expansively read into them things that the legislature which writes the laws did not clearly proscribe as illegal, and it appears that finally, courts higher than the highly partisan D.C. Thus far, 2024 has not been a banner year if you want to be employed as a journalist in the mainstream media. January featured layoffs at the Los Angeles Times, Sports Illustrated, Time, National Geographic, and Business Insider. Downsizing at cable news networks, usually unheard of in an election year, continues, and even National Public Radio has cut staff. Many longtime reporters at places such as the Washington Post have taken buyouts as the newspaper struggles to restructure its business model. Jack Shafer of Politico captured the current mood well: “Journalists across the country burst into flames of panic this week, as bad news for the news business crested

They came just a day before she is due to meet with a top Israeli official to discuss a potential ceasefire deal and a day after the US began air-dropping aid to the war-torn country, 'Before I begin I must address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza,' Harris said. 'What we are seeing every day in Gaza is devastating.'

Up to 10 feet of snow was expected to slam high-elevation areas, creating a “life-threatening concern” for Lake Tahoe residents, National Weather Service meteorologist William Churchill said.
