Gun Owners Of America came out swinging against Senator John Cornyn, R-TX, after he entered the race to succeed Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Aidan Johnston, Gun Owners Of America’s (GOA) Federal Affairs Director, said Cornyn has failed to stand firm on conservative values and has instead, compromised with Democrats on gun control bills. "Every time gun control gains steam in Congress, Senator John Cornyn is right there working with Democrats on a 'compromise.' That isn't conservative leadership, it's capitulation!," Johnston said.

Cornyn is a RINO. Those don't belong in leadership.

The replacement ofr Mitch is obvious.
We need a warrior - - someone who is willing to wage war on the evil communists - - and win. Someone who is not only unafraid - - but who is poised and articulate - - who isn't afraid to face the cameras and tell the truth to the American people - - and who will support President Trump and all of his MAGA policies.
There is obviously only one person who fills the whole bill - - please come out of retirement - - Fightin' Roy Blunt!

I think Ted Cruz has earned that spot. MTG would be good as well.

Many are far better acquainted than I with US Senate politics. However much I may like him, my sense is that Ted Cruz is not particularly well-liked among Republicans in the Senate. He's perceived as too much of a grandstander. I like Rand Paul as well, but he occasionally comes out of nowhere on his various positions on legislation, and I'm not sure he is the type to enjoy negotiating. I frankly don't know who else among the very few Senate conservatives would be able or willing to take on McConnell's role. Maybe Mike Lee?? Tom Cotton?? Just to get elected to the position, the candidate has to have been at least friendly with the various senate RINOs--the kind who knows how to "disagree without being disagreeable." A certain degree of seniority will also be needed. This will be interesting.

Cornyn is a rotten person, absolutely NOT any kind of a conservative, and apparently absolutely willing to sell out Republicans any time he get the urge....or some money behind the scenes.
Much worse than McConnell..

RINO doesn't adequately describe Cornyn, even though the definition of RINO has become a moving target, historically based on one's conservative Bona Fides, but increasingly based on being in or out of favor with Trump. Unlike Texas' conservative senator, Ted Cruz, Cornyn is more an old-school, mid-20th Century Texas democrat, in the vein of former Tx Representative "Goodtime" Charlie Wilson or even LBJ.

A microcosm of how the dems play the game. Introduce a radical bill, get the media to spew lies about it and put the heat on the "obstructionist" Republicans, who then bargain for compromise, and everyone then hails the bipartisanship displayed on both sides of the aisle. The result: America slips only 1 rung down the ladder instead of the original 3.

John Cornyn is next up for reelection in 2026. The hard truth is that for the next 2 years it is what it is. Our best hope is that his political windsock is accurately reading Texas breezes.
The first - and the worst - progressive success was in 1913 when they got the 17th Amendment. The whole purpose was to enable "blue states" or, in reality, two or three "blue cities" to effectively "buy" US Senate seats in "red states."
Using Texas as the example: It is much easier for CA, IL, PA (and maybe a few Soros types) to "buy" one campaign, than it would be to sway 16 Texas State Senators in Austin.
We currently have 19 Republican Senators and 12 Democrat Senators. Many of our Democrat Senators (possibly most) are more Texan than Democrat, and actually are for the U.S. Constitution.
The national Republican Party Platform should include the return to the Founders wise vision. When back in the majority they should live up to it!
Lets all vote like our future depends on it.... It does!

Once upon a time, John Cornyn was actually a conservative. But then he spent too much time in the sewer of DC, and is now a lie-beral RINO Republi-Can't. As a Texan, I am praying that the state Republicans will find someone to primary him when he is up for re-election that can actually beat him.
Cornyn is one of the best poster children for why we need term limits in Congress!!!!!!!
