Democratic lawmakers in Colorado have introduced legislation that would allow non-residents to access medically assisted suicide. (snip) The bill's sponsor in the state Senate, Democratic Sen. Joann Ginal, has objected to the use of the term "suicide" in association with the bill, however. (snip) In addition to allowing out-of-state access, the bill would allow advanced practice registered nurses to prescribe medication for assisted suicide, rather than just physicians. In its current form, the bill also reduces the mandatory waiting period for administering assisted suicide from 15 days to just 48 hours. (snip) The Colorado Catholic Conference condemned the bill for promoting a "culture of death"

This is not surprising for a state that allows abortion at any state of pregnancy.

Doesn't Colorado realize that a suicide tourist isn't going to be repeat business?

Why don't we just call Colorado California East or maybe Colofornia. Boulder, Aurora, and Denver run Colorado politics and the rest don't count, not even their votes that will be far less than the cities votes.

We do not belong to ourselves; we are directed toward our Creator, who loves us and asks us to believe that and return his love, yes, even when we are very puzzled about it. The tests of love are like that. He has filled the world with beauty that all can see even when we are burdened, so we will remember Love is there. This life is not all there is. We have merited the big deaths and small ones that occur all through this life, but their meaning has been changed, all death has changed, and those deaths are now the ladder to Heaven that does not exist in any other way. Our Creator has told us in thousands of ways that death is followed by life again. We are not to kill ourselves and we are told that if we do, then we will meet the Love of our Souls and will understand that we withheld our love from Him. We are supposed to love and pray and fix our direction on our Creator, until the last breath. If people do off themselves then the rest of us should pray that they are forgiven, but the silliness of it is as though a person ran out away from love and into a hurricane force wind tornado and flood, in order to avoid a pitcher that fell off the counter. Instead what to do about sadness is feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, forgive enemies, pray for the sorrowful. Everybody can do some of it. Sorry for the rant. Trying esperately.

I think allowing someone, who is dying a long, slow death, to be allowed some dignity and a peaceful death with a simple injection is a good thing. Maybe it's because I'm soon going to be 83 and have seen my share of folks at the end of their life suffer, I say if there is a better way to end your life, I'm for it. And, anyone who has been put to sleep for a procedure knows the Doctor doesn't do it. The Anesthetist is the one who puts you into that wonderful, restful sleep (yes, I have had experience with it). I would much prefer a trained Anesthetist handling those drugs dripping into my arm, than having the Doctor who has been trained for Surgery, not drugs. So yes, I would hope if I were to get Cancer and I'm told there is nothing they can do for me but to go home and lay in Bed waiting to die, I would rather go with that needle in my arm and have some dignity left. It would also be so much easier on Family Members who are the ones who have to watch their loved slowly waste away! Also, if you're in a Nursing Facility for weeks or months, it can eat away every last cent you have, so if you leave behind a Spouse you could be taking away the money they had saved for retirement. Lots to think of!

Boy, that says something about Colorado. These migrants went through all kinds of hell to get here and when they got to that state they decided that all that travail wasn't worth it and want to kill themselves.
