More than two dozen confidential witnesses against former president Donald Trump face “significant and immediate risks of threats, intimidation, and harassment” if their identities become public, federal prosecutors have told a judge.
In response, U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon in West Palm Beach, Florida put a hold on Friday’s previously scheduled public release of a trove of documents. Cannon has given Trump's attorneys until Feb. 23 to respond, meaning the documents likely won't be released earlier.
At issue is evidence prosecutors turned over to defense attorneys in the case over Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida after leaving the White House.

Threats? You mean somebody might post something that hurts their ferlings?
Leftist can post and say all sorts of things that would encourage a lone-wolf lefty to attempt to harm Pres Trump without any consequences.

What needs to be done here:
Since all the Documents at issue were D E C L A S S I F I E D by the President prior to having been taken to Florida, The People at the National Archives need to be charged with perjury and for perpetrating a Fraud on the Court.
Jack Smith needs to show cause why his Attorneys licenses should not be cancelled for his part in the Fraud
The Court should proffer Mr Trump its heart-felt apologies for taking his valuable time!

Nothing more than a little stretching of the neck. It will be over before they know it. FBI gets head of the line privileges and clean rope.

Is Jack Smith afraid Trump is going to hire a hit man? Smith feels he should be privy to everything about Trump's defense, but Trump should know nothing about the prosecution/persecution.

This is "star-chamber" justice.
Dictionary definition: noun: "[The Star-Chamber was] an old English court abolished in 1641 that exercised wide civil and criminal jurisdiction under rules of procedure suited to the prerogatives of the king and that was marked by secrecy, the absence of juries, self-incrimination, and an inquisitorial as opposed to accusatorial system of justice.
Adjective: "a tribunal or proceeding resembling the Star Chamber especially in being secretive or arbitrary."

Just another in the long list of controversial decisions made by Jack Smith.
Nothing about this trial has been open and above board.

Threats? Risks?
Such as...mobs of heavily armed individuals, in armored vehicles, showing up at their homes or offices...dragging them out, in front of their families? Children held at gunpoint?
Or simply mobs showing up with signs, bullhorns, shouting and chanting "defamations", blocking their streets, throwing "Objects" at their homes, spray painting threats and slogans on their property?
What anti Trump "witness" has EVER faced ANYTHING like that? NONE!
Their only complaint so far is that some "Online stranger" called them bad names.(in many cases bad names that were/are true)

“ The filings come as the existence of a criminal investigation into threats “over social media” against an unspecified witness in the case became public ”
Have suspicion that one of the “witnesses” received an FBI generated threat so Persecutor Smith could block release of the names of more than two dozen confidential witnesses who allegedly saw Trump mishandling documents. Much like the pipe bomb story/hoax of Jan 6th apparently created by the FBI to create anti-Trump hysteria. Would not be surprised if Ray Epps is one of the “witnesses” to Trump handing out Top Secret documents as check in gifts at Mar-a-Largo.

Smith wants to do his dirty work behind doors and in secret. We don't do things that way in this country--or we didn't before 100% uniparty control of the government.

In the end if the US Constitution prevails, Trump must get to face his accusers. Here it looks like it’s Smith’s opinion against the US Constitution.

Also in the filing was the revelation that Smith etal also have yet ANOTHER top secret "Codenamed" sting/investigation ongoing, suggesting that it is being run from the highest levels of DOJ/CIA,
It is (past) Time to investigate the investigators...and the investors that have funded/supported their "Witnesses".
Lawfare...IS an insurrection, attempting a COUP yet again. They admit it, brag about it, are cheered for it, based upon the spanish, french, soviet and maoist inquisitions against "Enemies of the State/enemies of the Revolution"..

Since when do we have "confidential witnesses" in American trials?

Prove it, Jack. We want to know exactly who is threatening these “witnesses,” and what they are saying or writing.

Sorry for the second post, but #7, there was a movie done back in the 80s (?) called The Star Chamber. It starred Michael Douglas and was about a group of judges that met secretly to pronounce and enact sentences on people that they knew to be guilty, but were able to walk free due to legal technicalities.

I'm and educated man but still like to keep things simple. So please forgive me as a compare and contrast a little bit.
Witnesses for Donald John Trump have been surveilled, raided, assaulted, imprisoned, robbed, slandered, excommunicated, libeled, deplatformed, divorced, maligned, burglarized, fired, threatened and hospitalized.
Witnesses against Donald John Trump have been celebrated, featured, praised, rewarded, promoted, protected, respected and called mean names online like snowflake and woke.
Jack Smith can go to that hot place down under and I'm not talking about Australia.
