King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and has begun treatment, Buckingham Palace said Monday. The palace says the cancer is not related to the king’s recent treatment for a benign prostate condition. It did not say what form of cancer the 75-year-old monarch has. The palace said “a separate issue of concern was noted” during Charles’ treatment for an enlarged prostate last month. “Diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” it said. “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the palace said.

Interesting that the Fox doctor mentioned all the other possible cancers but stomach cancer. That is the first one that I thought of.

Cancer is an equal opportunity menace. I wish the King good health and a recovery. But the negative side to my thinking also piped up and said, "The media is gonna love how this plays out."

Based on the exact diagnosis and his age Ol’ King Charlie should consider abdicating. The British deserve an energetic young king and a vivacious consort.

What #2 said. Sad for both him and Camilla as this will affect her as well. Her public appearances will increase of necessity, plus having to support her husband. If Charles passes, she will become the dowager queen and likely will be pensioned off as she is not the mother of Charles' successor. It looks like Charles may have to put some of the second-tier royals to work - Andrew's daughters, Edward's daughter, maybe even Ann's untitled children. I doubt he'll bring Harry and Meghan back - they've said and done too much, and they're mud with the English people.

#6 to bring Harry back will be the worst decision of his life. In circumstances like this, Parliament should immediate get to work to remove Harry and his descendants from the line of succession and counselor of state. Parliament should do this before William becomes king.

Poster #7, Harry is 5th in line to the throne, after William's three children. The only way one of his descendants will get near the throne will be when one of his grandchildren marries one of William's grandchildren.

Elizabeth held him off as long as she could. I'm pretty sure she knew he was a disaster. Now, he'll probably abdicate in favor of his son. I don't have a strong opinion of William, but his brother is a destructive, stupid fool. We can hope that William is better, but that's a pretty low bar to clear.

While I have not been a huge fan of his in the past, I know he is a good grandpa and I always hate it when children lose so many grandparents prior to at least getting to an age where they really remember them well and can have those of so valuable good memories. I was one of those kids and my youngest is also one. I hope King Charles is successfully treated and has a smooth recovery and can be a good grandpa for many years to come.

Sorry second post but... anyone who has watched The Crown I think gets that abdication is a non-starter. In the Windsor mindset, it is utter anathema due to Edward's utter failure and the turmoil and pain his dereliction of duty caused so many. Plus, that coronation oath specifically states this job is for life.

Section 52 of the 91 sections of the U.N.’s Agenda 2030 global takeover plan begins, “‘We the Peoples’ are the celebrated opening words of the U.N. Charter. It is ‘We the Peoples’ who are embarking today on the road to 2030.” However, Americans know that those opening words appeared well before the U.N. Charter, as they are (sort of) the opening words of the U.S. Constitution. When the U.N. was founded, the endearing word “rights” — so important in our republican form of government — was used repeatedly in its first documents. In the present lead document, the word “rights” is used only once,

I spent years telling skeptical conservatives that, yes Biden was going to run for reelection. Many didn’t believe it until he filed, became the automatic frontrunner, and had no opponents to speak of. And while public perceptions of his state keep dropping, the Democrats have few options. Sure, rank and file Dems could shift their support to Rep. Dean Philips, who is in possession of his full faculties and actually campaigning, but there’s zero sign of that happening. Instead, New Hampshire Dems wrote in Biden after he refused to even compete in their state in order to score a big hand-delivered win in South Carolina. (With 4% turnout.

Facing a torrent of criticism from conservatives, Senate Republicans on Monday resisted advancing on a bipartisan proposal intended to clamp down on illegal border crossings, signaling a likely defeat in Congress that would leave leaders with no clear path to approve wartime aid for Ukraine. In a dramatic turnaround, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell recommended to GOP senators in a closed-door meeting that they vote against the first procedural vote Wednesday, according to two people familiar with the meeting who were not authorized to talk publicly about it and spoke anonymously.

President Joe Biden won the South Carolina primary on Saturday, the contest that revitalized his 2020 campaign and now has given him his first official victory in his bid for a second term. The Associated Press declared Biden the winner at 7:23 p.m. based on an analysis of initial vote results showing him with a decisive lead in key locations throughout the state. At the time the race was called, Biden was leading statewide with about 97% of the vote, nearly double the 49% he received in the 2020 primary. Almost an hour after the race was called, Biden’s vote percentage remained largely unchanged at about 97%.

Obama and Biden like Iran. Obama and Biden are facilitating a pro-Iran policy. Obama and Biden don’t want to do anything against the interests of their pro-Iran position. That’s the simple baseline. As a direct consequence, the same U.S. intelligence community that proclaimed the Hunter Biden laptop was disinformation, now modify their prior intelligence to proclaim that Iran likely doesn’t have any control over the various terrorist networks they support. As a result, Biden cannot conduct a retaliatory strike against Iran because Biden cannot prove a direct link to Iran.

An agreement requiring a human to make launch decisions would, as a practical matter, be unenforceable. None of China, Russia, or the United States would allow others to pore over millions of lines of their computer code..... America does not need another feel-good agreement with China. It already has them, especially the Biological Weapons Convention, which has no enforcement mechanisms. The Chinese regime wants to talk about artificial intelligence largely because it is trailing the U.S. and thinks an agreement would help it catch up....

President Biden couldn’t even remember when he was vice president or when his son Beau had died, leading special counsel Robert Hur to conclude that he could not bring charges for mishandling of classified documents, because a jury would see the president “as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” In a report, Robert Hur concluded that Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.” But he declined to issue any charges, in part because Biden’s poor recollection would make him hard to convict.

Following Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, which included stunning revelations of the deterioration of President Joe Biden’s mental state, Republican officials are calling to invoke the 25th Amendment. They state that “if ever there were a time to do so, now would be it,” and insist that if the president “is not competent to stand trial, then he is certainly not competent to lead the free world.” While highlighting evidence of America’s oldest ever president “willfully” mishandling classified documents, Special Counsel Hur’s report details Biden’s significant cognitive decline — perhaps more politically damning than his handling of classified materials.

Joe Biden, senior aides and political observers strongly criticised the special counsel, Robert Hur, for extensively discussing the president’s age and allegedly fading memory in his report on Biden’s retention of classified information from his time as a senator and as vice-president – which did not produce an indictment. Hur, who Donald Trump appointed US attorney for Maryland, “could not refrain from investigative excess”, said Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal counsel. Though this was “perhaps unsurprising given the intense pressures of the current political environment”, Bauer added, the final report “flouts Department [of Justice] regulations and norms”.
