Exactly how bad is the “bipartisan” legislation, which should be called called, ‘the border insecurity in exchange for Ukraine money act’? The bill is so bad, and makes things so much worse, that Jame Lankford may end up voting against his own legislative creation. Making matters worse, Mitch McConnell is now pretending the entire fiasco wasn’t his idea; further leaving James Lankford out to dry on his own. (Politico) – […] Several members of GOP leadership came out against the legislation in the past 24 hours, further boxing in Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

I asked earlier today if there was room in the padded cell for him to join the Majority Leader (who is threatening to send troops to Ukraine if his bill doesn't pass) and the President (who belongs there for numerous and obvious reasons) - maybe Mitch needs his own special cell.

I’m guessing the real reason behind this reversal is that Mitch had a minion read the bill, and discovered that he, (Mitch), wasn’t getting as big a kickback from it as Chuck Schumer promised him.

The sleeping tiger finally got roused: the American people put up with a heck of a lot of crap year after year, and swallow too much in the belief that some things as odious as they are for them are for the common good. But this time, (and I hope it holds firm) enough people see the self-destructive mission the Dems + certain Repubs have us on, that the inane covid oppression and devastating government spending, the abysmal economy which Biden et al engineered, their obeisance to the WEF and other global entities which in all their vainglorious egotism and elitism are driving humanity to the brink of catastrophe.

McConnell continues to show he cannot be trusted with the welfare of our country and our people. DITCH MITCH! MAGA

This is an election-year ploy to fire-proof dems and incumbents ahead of the election. From now on , when the challenger raises the issue in a debate, the pre-masticated response will be "Republicans refused to consider a bi-partisan comprehensive bill...," and perhaps recall a few nice sounding measures to boot. Nobody will remember what an abomination it was.

Chuck the Schmuck came out and praised McConnell for working so hard with him for this bill and then along came the voices of Americans who saw this bill was a boat load of manure and McConnell backed out on him. McConnell double crossed his buddy Chuck . Lankford got the message also and his little nut sack shrunk away to nothing.

This is not a repudiation of the bill by McConnell or Langford. It is simply too hot right now with negative pressure against the bill since the "untrue leaks" proved to be true. I expect to see the Republicans vote to not move the bill forward at this time and wait until it is old news and then do what they always do, vote for the bill and once again betray their constituents.

Former President Donald Trump suggested in an interview Sunday that “some changes” could be coming to the Republican National Committee when asked about Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s performance. Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings showed the RNC had only $8 million cash in hand, its lowest figure since 2014. “Sunday Morning Futures” host Bartiromo asked Trump during the interview about the RNC’s apparent cash issues under McDaniel, who came under fire after Republicans underperformed expectations of a “red wave” in the 2022 midterm elections and had a disappointing 2023 election night, losing control of the Virginia General Assembly and failing to unseat Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky.

When he left the White House, Donald Trump was a pariah. After years of bending Washington to his will with a single tweet, Trump was, at least for a moment, diminished. He was a one-term Republican president rejected by voters and then shunned by large swaths of his party after his refusal to accept his 2020 election defeat culminated in an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol that sent lawmakers running for their lives. Some members of his Cabinet had discussed invoking the 25th Amendment, seeing him unfit to remain in office. He was banned from social media and became the first president to be impeached twice.

Joe Biden, senior aides and political observers strongly criticised the special counsel, Robert Hur, for extensively discussing the president’s age and allegedly fading memory in his report on Biden’s retention of classified information from his time as a senator and as vice-president – which did not produce an indictment. Hur, who Donald Trump appointed US attorney for Maryland, “could not refrain from investigative excess”, said Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal counsel. Though this was “perhaps unsurprising given the intense pressures of the current political environment”, Bauer added, the final report “flouts Department [of Justice] regulations and norms”.
