The Bible supports the idea of individuals changing their sex and taking drugs and surgeries to do so, a professor at a Catholic university in Ohio wrote recently.
Professor Esther Brownsmith teaches classes on Scripture at the University of Dayton in Ohio. (snip)
Brownsmith (pictured) claims that Joseph’s “amazing technicolor dreamcoat” was really clothes a princess would wear.
“This is just one of the ways that the Bible indicates that the ‘shapely and beautiful’ Joseph (Genesis 39:6) crossed gender boundaries, and he was not the only one:

Sheer wishful idiocy. Bet she herself has crossed the line and conveniently wants to ignore the Biblical passages which explicitly condemn wearing clothes of the opposite gender and fornicating with one's own sex. Sinners think they can be hidden if 'everybody's doing it'. Sadly however, Sodom was destroyed because not even 10 good men could be found. God wiped clean most of the entire world once before and He promises to do so again - albeit not by another Flood.

Here are a few more Bible verses that are applicable to the perverted heretic soi disant "professor" Brownsmith, taken from Isiah 5: 18-21. I think they are clear and need no tortuous eisegesis to establish their meaning.
"Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!"

Two points here. First, the coat which Jacob gave to Joseph was not an "amazing technicolor dreamcoat". It was an ornate and (probably) colorful coat. Second, when the passage refers to Joseph as "shapely and beautiful" (not how any of the translations I could find translated it, but it looks like that would not be an inaccurate translation) it was describing why a WOMAN wanted to have sex with him. So, the context of the passage does not support, even vaguely, the idea that he crossed gender boundaries.

Oh, a vapid idiot trying to play theologian. How novel and refreshing. /s
Dear Professor Twit:
first, the Bible NEVER references an "amazing technicolor coat".
Second, the "coat of many colors" is not an accurate translation. The word used there for "colors" is actually a Hebrew word transliterated as "pas" (ironically, a masculine noun, by the way!), and it literally means, properly, the palm (of the hand) or sole (of the foot); by implication (plural) a long and sleeved tunic (perhaps simply a wide one; from the original sense of the root, i.e. of many breadths). Now, it could have consisted of more than one color, but there's no indication it was flamboyant and colored in such a way. What it does mean is that it was probably a long and full coat.
3. The words you are misusing to describe Joseph in Genesis 39:6 are, again, not accurate. They literally mean he was attractive and fair. That has nothing to do with being LGBQ or T, or any other letter of the alphabet you want to add there.
4. People like you, who twist God's word and peddle your lies, filth, and pervesion to unsuspecting people who think you actually have learning and education and, thus, authority to speak on these things, are dispicable. And you will stand before the God Whom you now mock one day. And all I can say to you is, "...vengance (vindication, retribution, punishment) belongs to the me, I will repay (vengance, recompense), saith the Lord...it is a fearful thing (inspiring fear, formidible, terrible) to fall into the hands (symbolizing God's might and power) of the living (living, active) God." (Hebrews 10:30-31)
5. Your best bet is to look up the meaning of the word repentance and try that. Otherwise, the following pertains to you:
18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
19For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
20For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,g in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
26For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;
27and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
29They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips,
30slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
31foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
(Romans 1)

What this professor claims is insane. Joseph did not wear women's outfits. He was not a prince nor a princess, he was a carpenter. Wokeness in the BCE times was punishable by stoning to say the least. Homosexuality was also punishable by stoning to say the least. This professor should know the law as written in the Torah.

Oh FFS. These people are desperate and unhinged. I actually am reading the Bible, cover to cover. Took me quite a while to get through the first five books, but I can assure you that nowhere in any of them was an acceptance of the transgender ideology. In fact, the Old Testament is littered with warnings, and the ensuing punishments, against Sodom and Gomorrah-like behavior.

"He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created."
Gen 5:2
Just to drive home the point, here's what our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said:
"And He answered and said, 'Have you not read, that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,...'"
I suggest this "Theology Professor" either resign/retire, or change his title to "Professor of Cultural Degeneracy Studies."

No one knows the day or hour of the Second Coming of our Lord (Matthew 24:36) but Scripture warns about false prophets/teachers.
~ Colossians 2:8 - See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
~ 1 Timothy 6:3-5 - False Teachers and True Contentment - Teach and urge these things. 3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.
~ Galatians 1:8-9 - But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

#19~ “..., but I can assure you that nowhere in any of them was an acceptance of the transgender ideology...” / Correct. The Old Testament has specific directives about self-mutilation and the New Testament emphasis that our bodies are, for those who are baptized, a temple of the Holy Spirit that lives within us.
Leviticus 19:28 - You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the LORD.
1 Corinthians 6:19: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
John 14:15 - If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
For those who will follow our Lord: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

#17 - The shame belongs to this "professor", to the Catholic colleges and universities that have embraced modernity, and to Pope Frank; not to the Holy Catholic Church over which Our Lord Jesus Christ promised the Gates of Hell would not prevail against her. He did not promise Satan would not infiltrate, gain influence or achieve power - only he would not prevail. The Roman Catholic Church is still in existence after over 2,000 years; withstanding centuries of wars, schisms over doctrinal disputes, periods of two and three popes simultaneously, the Protestant Reformation, and the "progressive" implementation of Vatican II through the efforts of St. John Paul II and his 1994 Catechism.
The Holy Catholic Church and the Eternal Faith will prevail through the efforts of our conservative bishops fostering good pastors leading strong parishes. Whether you are blessed to be a member of such a diocese and parish or not, every Catholic can find strength in receiving the Sacraments and in our prayer life. Our faith has a rich treasury of devotional practices, and writings from great saints who also lived in challenging times that offer us inspiration and guidance. I'm happy to be Catholic!

A preacher once horrified me when he talked about some of the people who infiltrate divinity schools, and teach there, without being Christian in any way. Not so surprising, although faithless people shouldn't try to fake faith. They will be found out. Esther Brownsmith, if she has a good figure, would be better off in a swimsuit with a different last name--Williams--rather than teaching Bible classes.

Re #16: The Old Testament Joseph was not a carpenter. He ended up as a trusted advisor for the king of Egypt, after his older half-brothers had left him for dead in the desert. His only full brother was Benjamin. Their mother, Rachel, died just after she birthed Benjamin.
You are confusing the Old Testament Joseph with the New Testament Joseph, the legal father of Jesus. Yes, that Joseph was a carpenter.
