Those big electronic message boards along highways that convey a message with humor to drivers are under attack by Uncle Sam. The federal government wants the messages to be less humor, more standard use. It seems to me that the country could use more humor, even more corny dad jokes. Especially on long, boring highways, a little humor in the deliverance of important information to drivers goes a long way. (Snip) Blame Mayor Pete. The Federal Highway Administration, an agency that is in the U.S. Department of Transportation, issued new guidance in December about traffic safety messages. Signs should no

Comments:

Fed bureaucrats have no sense of humor. Mayor Petie only wants harsh, curt messages for the driving public.

I can't stand this "expert on Christian doctrine", but I agree with this policy. When I'm driving I do not like Mommy Government to lecture me on how to drive no matter how cutesy-cutesy the slogans are. Save the electricity and spare us from taxpayer funded employees who are paid to create this nonsense. These message boards should be reserved for traffic and weather conditions and Amber Alerts. Sometimes "silence" is nice when you're driving - especially silence from the government.

ARRIAGA, Mexico - A new migrant caravan of approximately 2,000 people formed in southern Mexico on Monday, largely made up of people that have been on the move since Christmas Eve who say the Mexican government's promises of transit visas last week never materialized. The migrants, including some carrying young children, are walking to the southern Oaxaca town of Tapanatepec, about 800 kilometers (480 miles) south of Mexico City by road. They hope to reach Tapanatepec by nightfall. The group of mostly Central American and Caribbean migrants are ultimately headed for the U.S. border, the caravan's leader Luis Villagran said. Last

CHICAGO – Multiple factors likely contribute to why only a small fraction of asylum seekers in Chicago have received permits to work legally. CBS 2's Sabrina Franza reported how only about 1% of the 26,000 migrants in the city have received their documents with assistance from the city and she dug into why the number is so low. The number really boils down to three things: the cost of the application, the availability of documents, and the significant demand. (Snip) The cost to fill out the application is over $400.
