MIDTOWN, Manhattan -- Buses from Texas and Louisiana began dropping off asylum seekers at several NJ Transit stations in New Jersey. It's apparently to avoid New York City Mayor Eric Adams' new restrictions on when they can arrive at Port Authority Bus Terminal. Approximately 10 buses from Texas and one from Louisiana, carrying about 397 migrants, arrived at stations in Secaucus, Fanwood, Edison and Trenton in the last two days, according to a social media post from Jersey City. Four of the buses dropped asylum seekers at the Secaucus Junction station. "It seems quite clear the bus operators are finding

Isn't having a effective transportation system wonderful? It's very democratic; works for everyone, regardless of their legal status. Once a person is in the country they can, pretty much, go anywhere they want to. Mr. Mayor, the limits of your city is not the place to try to stop "asylum seekers." And anyway, isn't this restriction on buses some sort of restraint on interstate commerce? I think there is something in the Constitution about that.

How many chose to stay in NJ? The only place they should have been shipped is south of the border. By shipping them all over the country, the only thing you are doing is aiding Biden's human trafficking network. The odds of these people being shipped back to Mexico probably drop considerably once they leave the border.

#10, that really doesn’t change anything. By law, ERs have to treat anyone who shows up regardless of insurance status. So the illegals already have access to healthcare. The only difference is - does it get charged to the CA government or the insurance companies? Either way, it’s the CA tax payers who foot the bill.

CHICAGO – Multiple factors likely contribute to why only a small fraction of asylum seekers in Chicago have received permits to work legally. CBS 2's Sabrina Franza reported how only about 1% of the 26,000 migrants in the city have received their documents with assistance from the city and she dug into why the number is so low. The number really boils down to three things: the cost of the application, the availability of documents, and the significant demand. (Snip) The cost to fill out the application is over $400. There is a form to waive that cost. Conway's office has

We are about to embark on what might be one of the wildest years in the history of American politics, and it may end up merely a prelude. If 2024 is set to be tumultuous and unpredictable, just wait until 2025 if Donald Trump wins the presidency again this year. His adversaries don’t have a history of accepting his victories with equanimity. Trump’s unexpected victory in 2016 launched conspiracy theories about how Russia had helped him win; catalyzed a years-long law enforcement investigation into him and his campaign based on those theories; and set off protests in the streets. All that was mild, given what may yet be in the offing.
