The Minneapolis City Council took a closer look at publishing the new meeting calendar on Monday, following a mix-up last year that sparked controversy. Last year, the day of Eid al-Fitr, or “Eid,” the council was voting on rent control, which was a highly debated issue. Three Muslim members were not able to vote because they were observing the holiday. This allowed the remaining council members to vote “no” to continuing conversations about rent control.

Dear Muslims in Minneapolis (and elsewhere who RESIDE in the USA), Koranic abrogation is how older references in the Koran are SUPERCEDED by more recent references; please feel free to apply the same principles to your beliefs as they apply to your NEW country, the one who lets you live in peace while you seek to impose your belief system upon us. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Sincerely, the US middle class

Allowing a breeding pair of muslims to colonize a tolerant society totally damns that society to an eventual life of submission.

Which Muslim "Holy Days" do they need to schedule around? Seems like every week has some holy day or another centered around a rock Allah touched or a day that Muhammad murdered some infidel, or some holy mountain or something. The only non holy time is Friday nights during the Jewish Sabbath and Christian Sunday. Maybe Minneapolis should only schedule meeting on Friday nights or Sunday mornings to accommodate the Muslims and keep the peace to prevent protests and allegations of Islamophobia.

The Free Palestine Coalition ended a week of planned protests and calling for a ceasefire during a Sunday event, when they marched from the federal building to senator Amy Klobuchar’s Office. However, as councilors meet, there seems to be a divide between some of them and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

With US forces under regular attack across the Mideast and the Navy actively engaged with Houthi forces in the Red Sea, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was out of commission in the hospital from Monday on. Worse, no one told the White House; worse yet, neither President Biden nor National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan noticed. Not until the Pentagon let Sullivan know on Thursday. Anyone thinking that the nation is well-led despite Biden’s blatant feebleness better think again: Austin and his deputies ignored the law here, while Sullivan was plainly asleep at the switch. Again, with American forces regularly under fire, and our friends in Ukraine and Israel fully at war
