According to public disclosure reports filed by Sen. Smith, Archie Smith purchased between $100,001 and $250,000 worth of stock in Tactile Systems Technology Inc. on Nov. 8, 2023. On that day, the stock price for Tactile Systems opened at $9.99 and closed at $10.00.
Since this purchase by the senator’s husband, Tactile Systems’ stock has increased by 40%.

Police say one person is now in custody for the death of a man who died after his throat was slashed by a skate blade late last month.
South Yorkshire police announced their detectives arrested a man Tuesday on suspicion of manslaughter in the death of 29-year-old Adam Johnson, who played for the Nottingham Panthers. A march to the Minnesota State Capitol led by the newly formed Free Palestine Coalition on Saturday was thousands strong.
Protestors again called for a cease-fire and demanded that the U.S. stop sending funding to Israel amid an increasingly desperate situation for Palestinian people living in Gaza.
“Different people come for different reasons,” shared coalition spokesperson Meredith Aby. “But we are united in a message, which is that we don’t want to have blood on our hands. We don’t want to be complicit.”

Work continues to preserve pieces of art made after 2020 unrest
Call it a labor of love, in a northeast Minneapolis warehouse.
“I feel very attached, like connected to these pieces personally,” says Amira McLendon, a University of Minnesota art student. “I didn’t make any of them. But knowing they were from my community is important to me.”
McLendon is an intern with the group ‘Memorialize the Movement.’
This weekend, the organization, founded by Leesa Kelly, is busily archiving and organizing about 1,000 pieces of plywood art..

Karl Frisch, who will become chairman of the Fairfax County School Board, swapped the Bible for books including “Lawn Boy,” “Gender Queer,” and “Flamer.” His male partner held the books as he placed his left hand on them and his right hand in the air.
“He was sworn in on a stack of the five LGBTQ-themed books most frequently banned by other school systems,” Frisch’s campaign said on his website.
