The Texas National Guard has seized control of a park at the U.S. southern border and is now blocking Border Patrol from entering the area – part of an effort to stop the surge of illegal immigration into Texas and a move likely to significantly increase tensions between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the federal government.
The state government has taken control of Shelby Park in the city of Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been at the center of the migrant crisis that has engulfed the U.S. border. Authorities have now set up razor wire and fences to block off the area.

The Biden crew will shortly find some Federal Judge who will order Texas to stay out of the way of Federal Law enforcement activities, and that will include U.S. Border Patrol law enforcement activities along the international borderline. There is little doubt that almost all the Border Patrol Agents are covertly supporting Texas, rather than Biden, on that issue.

#4, there are multiple important differences. The first, and probably most important, is that this is not a fort, or any other sort of base of operations, of the U.S. Military. As best I can tell. it is a city park (although it may be a state park). As important, the Texas National Guard did not throw, or attempt to throw, the Border Patrol out of this park. Instead, they are preventing them from entering it. Meaning that if hostilities commence, they will be initiated by the federal government, not by the state.

#1, it doesn't seem they agree: The Border Patrol union confirmed to Fox News that agents were being blocked from entering by Texas soldiers, and praised Abbott for taking matters into his own hands.
"Governor Abbott is not harming Border Patrol operations, he is enhancing them," National Border Patrol Council Brandon Judd said in a statement. "His seizing control of Shelby Park allows our agents to deploy to troubled spots that experience high numbers of gotaways. Governor Abbott’s actions should be seen as a force multiplier."

Biden and his leftist and socialist Democrat crew are trying to load Texas up with millions of probable future leftist and socialist Democrat supporters and voters consisting of Third World origin poor and uneducated illegal aliens (migrants) who are member of recognized minority groups in Democrat identity politics to capture Texas’s 58 electoral votes and thus make it impossible for the wimpy Republicans to win future presidential elections. The Governor of Texas knows that and is why he is trying to keep illegal aliens out of Texas, and is sending as many illegal aliens as possible to the big so-called leftist and socialist Democrat run “sanctuary cities” where the leftist and socialist Democrats already have enough votes “in the bag” and new illegal alien votes won’t change the political make up of the country, at least until the illegal aliens are counted in the next U.S. Census, causing the redistricting on many congressional seats into those leftist and socialist Democrat run “sanctuary cities” making it much easier for leftist and socialist Democrat candidates to win those congressional seats giving the leftist and socialist Democrats permanent control of the House of Representatives. It does not appear that the wimpy Congressional Republicans who are under the control of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and are enamored with unlimited cheap foreign labor for their business related supporters have a clue that Biden and the leftist and socialist Democrats are using mass uncontrolled illegal immigration to send them into political oblivion.

Since the Border Patrol are for all intents and purposes human traffickers and will obey unlawful orders to that end, will it be ok for Texas guardsmen to arrest or fire on them?

The union appears to be on the side of the Constitution, but not the BP agency. Why doesn't the union call a strike/walkout due to violations related to the Constitution? Because, right now, they are aiding and abetting a whole lot of criminal activity, and they are making themselves complicit in the deaths of Americans and the destruction of the American way of life. Facts!

The Eagle Pass Mayor is on the record in opposition to the National Guard takeover of the park. This is predictable for a democrat to consider national security and public safety secondary to the selfish interests of the national socialist democrat party.

#10, in addition, I wouldn't be surprised if Salinas is getting a kickback from the cartels, and Abbott's actions are cutting off that money train.

That border is run by the Mexican drug cartels-and our gvt is in cahoots with them. If we'd close the border, I'm sure some American businesses would be severely affected, but Mexico as a whole would suffer. Let them suffer for a couple of months, and see how amenable to halting migrant caravans they'd become.

I'm all for this type of action, and would like to see it along the whole border.
But I have a sad feeling that this action will soon just fizzle out and the only people that will benefit from it will be some lawyers who get a little richer, and some judge(s) will take a little more power that they don't have under the Constitution.
And even if Texas closes their whole border from Brownsville to El Paso, all this will do is slow down the flow for a couple of days. The invading hordes will merely have to go a little further west where New Mexico's 'Govornorlissima Lujan' will welcome them with open arms and open taxpayers wallets. Or another couple hundred miles to Arizona where Governor Kartel Katie will do the same.

The Biden Administration cares nothing about the getaways, or the worst of the worst invaders. Texas should counter sue the federal government for failure to fulfill its obligation under the Constitution, as the language of The Invasion Clause (Article 4, Section 4 plainly states:: "the United States … shall protect each [state in this union] against invasion.” More importantly with regard to Texas taking control of Shelby Park, the Constitution provides another safeguard against invasion, without restriction as to whether the invaders are foreign governments or non-state actors." Article 1, Section 10 is known as the State Self-Defense Clause, whereby the states retain Constitutional authority to defend themselves "when actually invaded" by hostile non-state actors such as armed cartels and gangs. The "Invasion" clauses together are intended to provide dual protections against invasions broadly defined. James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, specifically cited Virginia using its militia to stop smugglers as an example of a valid exercise of the invasion power, and there is every basis to conclude this sovereign power was retained as reflected in The State Self-Defense Clause.
The on-the-ground violence and lawlessness at Texas’s border caused by cartels and gangs is extensive, well-documented, and persistent. It can satisfy the definition of “actually invaded” and “invasion” under the U.S. Constitution. Two conclusions flow from this. First, the federal government has a duty to protect Texas under the Invasion Clause.[1] Second, Texas retains the independent authority under the State Self-Defense Clause to defend itself when actually invaded. This power is exercised under the Governor’s authority as Commander-in-Chief of the state's military forces. Further—while it is not necessary for the exercise of the State’s retained sovereign powers—state sovereignty to defend the integrity of the State from on-the-ground lawlessness at or near its border is bolstered by the unprecedented actions of the current presidential administration to destroy operational control of the border. Finally, The Import-Export Clause in Article I, Section 10 also recognizes that States retain sovereign authority to execute inspection laws, which requires operational control of the border to channel entry of goods to authorized ports of entry, not municipal parks or under highway bridges. This is an aspect of the historical police power that is expressly preserved for the States. In sum, both the power of self-defense against being “actually invaded” and the power to “execut[e] [their] inspection laws” are sovereign powers that were retained by the States under the U.S. Constitution to permit States to control on-the-ground conditions at their borders that are essential to public safety and security in a State. Texas has better case than the Biden Administration but it may take the Supreme Court to decide the matter based on the language of our Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land.
