According to one estimate I have seen, in 1973 there were only about 13,000 children being homeschooled. Today the number is over 5 million—and may be much higher, as many states do not track the numbers very carefully. The Washington Post has noticed, and you can tell they are worried about it. (The left has always hated homeschooling, and the teachers unions rightly understand what a threat homeschooling is to their gravy train, as most public schools derive their revenue by how many students are enrolled.)

Sure, you could study hard to get a degree. But at Spelman, where I taught, you could also get a top administrator to change your grades.

If there’s one thing every nation’s socialist left has been good at, it’s propaganda and wordplay. Joseph Goebbels, Saul Alinsky, and others were masters at the art of lying with language. (Imagining with amusement, leftists out there losing their collective minds over the fact that we just dared to compare their hero to Saul Alinsky or the other way around, but I digress.)

In all we drive more than three trillion miles per year, in 290 million registered cars, of which some 287 million are internal combustion engines. Today’s cars are without doubt among the most highly evolved, reliable, innovative and efficient forms of production ever witnessed. Exactly the prime target you would expect from the Biden administration.

What The Washington Post doesn't recognize (or won't admit) and Hayward doesn't point out is the reason why the number of homeschoolers remains so high after the end of COVID restrictions: Online classes allowed parents to see behind the curtain--to learn for the first time what rot the leftist NEA, et al., were force-feeding little Johnny and little Suzie. Involved, caring parents wanted no part of it.
