Republican Disarray on the House Speakership
Nothing New

The current kerfuffle in the Republican party’s attempt to select a Speaker of the House to replace Kevin McCarthy brings to mind the ascension and later resignation of Newt Gingrich as Speaker following the Republican Revolution vote of 1994. In that election, thanks largely to Gingrich’s Contract With America, Republicans gained fifty-four seats to garner the majority in the House for the first time in forty years. Gingrich was mainly responsible for electing a sizable number of the new, young wave of House Republican conservatives. The Republicans elected Newt as the 50th House Speaker. He served four years as Speaker and, in my opinion, deserved to serve many more.

I don’t call this disarray. I call this accountability. This is something that no congressman, democrat or republican is accustomed to dealing with.

This situation must make the Biden Creature feel good, having the republicans sharing the embarrassment and butt-of-the-joke status that used to be his alone.

Appears Matt didn't think this one through. This chaos is making them all look inept, foolish and childish. What the hell are you looking for? I am sure the dems are having great fun at your expense. Waiting for you to just throw in the towel and vote for Jefferies.

Republicans doing everything in their power to hand control back to the Democrats. They don't want to lead. They don't want to govern. Why should I vote for this?

Nope, #6. That was Kevin McCarthy and his merry band of RINO's who made deals with the donkeys to maintain power even in the face of conservative watchdogs only to have Nancy P sober up long enough to pull the rug out. Oh, those donkeys! Who would have thought they'd reneg on a done deal. And what's with those stupid principled conservatives anyway? They should take the blame for the failure of the RINO-Donkey deal because, well, the media says so. It's kind of interesting watching the Democrat wing of the Republican party twist themselves into logical pretzels to blame conservatives for their failed political calculations.

Pro-Hamas Dems Refuse to Listen to Republicans...So

As Democrats continue to embrace and refuse to condemn anti-Israel, pro-Hamas views — from the mainstream media to Capitol Hill and campus leftists to marches in the streets of American cities — President Joe Biden's party desperately needs a reality check on who the good guys are and why they're not the Hamas barbarians who slaughtered Israelis in the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. And, since Democrats aren't willing to listen to those across the aisle when they explain why America needs to stand with Israel for the good and safety of both Israeli civilians and any innocent residents of Gaza against barbaric Hamas terrorists

Mitt Romney voted to impeach President Trump for a phone call in which the president encouraged Ukraine to investigate allegations of serious corruption—coincidentally involving the Biden crime family—but according to a new book, the failed politician admits he had no idea what Burisma was when he voted to impeach a duly-elected president for calling on foreign governments to investigate alleged criminality. That is extreme ignorance (not to mention dangerous) when a senator is willing to impeach a president just because he doesn’t like him, all without knowing the facts.

Most of the Muslim world has joined hands with most of the leftist world to make a single argument: Israel is a colonialist occupier that must be routed from the Muslim Arabs’ native land. To the extent Hamas launched an incursion into Israel, it was a necessary act to end imperialism. Many of us (me included) fight back with history showing that Jews are the indigenous people and Muslims the colonialists. That’s a pointless argument because the colonialist claim is just a cover: Islam and leftism are grounded in hatred for Jews, which plays out in the pointed savagery of the attack and open calls for Jewish deaths

On October 28, 2016, the New York Observer, owned by former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, released a leaked audio clip from back in 2006 in which Hillary Clinton proposed rigging a foreign election to achieve the desired outcome that she wanted. The media did not report on the audio clip when it was released in 2016 because it would have been extremely damaging to then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The Gateway Pundit was one of the few news outlets in 2016 that covered this explosive report.

New information from a FOIA request now places Barack Obama on the scene sometime after his personal chef, Tafari Campbell, went missing and was later found drowned. The new information was first reported by Jesse Watters Friday evening. “We have new information tonight in the drowning death of Obama’s chef Tafari Campbell,” Watters revealed. “The Massachusetts State Police responded to our FOIA request and released their report with some redactions.” “According to the report, Obama was on the scene shortly after Campbell went missing,” Watters said.

I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn’t 1938; then, I had to check the books I owned to make sure they weren’t actually written in German. Once I confirmed it is 2023 and I live in the United States of America, I was left only to shake my head in disgust at what Democrats have exposed themselves to be. Make no mistake, I never really thought they were great people. The party of slavery, Jim Crow, and segregation isn’t suddenly going to pull a 180 and not be monsters; it’s who they are. They’ve never changed their objectives, only their tactics. Now, their embrace of segregation

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.” --Marcus Tullius Cicero The uniparty, that deep state bureaucracy that rules over us all, determined that the people should not have the Speaker of their choice. A clear majority of Republicans wanted Rep. Jim Jordan to replace Rep. Kevin McCarthy for good and obvious reasons.

Islamist butchers, and their media and academic buddies, failed in their latest rerun of the war against Israel. In the days before online media, particularly Elon Musk’s X, the storyline was a familiar one. Israel would be attacked and the mainstream media would be flooded with accounts from local reporters and photographers and embedded compromised national reporters of civilian injuries and deaths during any response. The emotional response would follow: a call would come for Israel to pull back before taking effective charge of the enemy, and the United States would force its hand. Not this time. This time, we could see accounts from both sides

As reported earlier House Republicans voted down their most popular and respected member, Jim Jordan for House Speaker today. The Republican lawmakers held a secret ballot away from their voters and overwhelmingly decided to oust Jordan from the Speaker’s race. The Republicans voted 112-86 in a secret ballot to oust the Ohio Republican from the race. The House of Representatives has been without a Speaker for more than 2 weeks after Matt Gaetz filed a motion to vacate the chair. Kevin McCarthy was ousted as House Speaker earlier this month in a 216-210 vote. 8 Republicans voted to oust McCarthy: Biggs, Buck, Burchett, Crane, Gaetz, Good, Mace, and Rosendale.

If our government does not respect the Constitution, we have no constitution. If the government refuses to stand behind the principles of free speech, the right to free assembly, the right to petition the government, the right to a speedy trial, etc., those rights don’t exist. Instead, we simply have rule down the barrel of a gun…a gun held only in government hands. I thought of that when I read about Doug Mackey, sent to federal prison for seven months because he insulted Hillary voters, and Ryan Kelley, given an extra-long prison sentence on a misdemeanor because he didn’t grovel sufficiently before his J6 hanging judge.

The House speakership has not been a happy thing for Republicans lately. While Nancy Pelosi was a raging leftist who successfully corralled her party and rammed through the leftist agenda (love her or hate her, she was effective), the same cannot be said for recent Republican speakers. John Boehner and Paul Ryan were RINOs. Kevin McCarthy was much more conservative, and for that he deserves credit, but he reneged on promises, especially about January 6. Since his ouster, though, it’s been one humiliation Now, however, with Byron Donalds having thrown his hat in the ring, there’s hope. Whether you think Matt Gaetz was bold to punish yet another.

WASHINGTON — Republicans on Tuesday picked Rep. Tom Emmer as their nominee for House speaker. The nominee now goes to the full House for a vote. It’s three weeks since Republicans ousted Kevin McCarthy. The House speaker will need to accomplish the seemingly impossible job of uniting the GOP majority. Emmer of Minnesota jumped ahead as the top vote-getter on early round ballots and was battling Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana on a fifth ballot. Others are dropping out including Florida newcomer Byron Donalds, who’s aligned with Donald Trump, and Kevin Hern of Oklahoma. The nominee will also need to win a majority in a House floor vote.

Blinken did not urge his government peers to enforce the immigration laws that protect Americans from employers who hire illegal immigrants that undercut Americans’ bargaining power in the labor market. He also did not mention the many polls showing the growing public opposition to Biden’s mass illegal migration.

You can decide and debate this in the comments section below. Former President Barack Obama has another lengthy post about his “thoughts” on the Israel-Hamas war. It’s a tortured thought exercise that will inevitably leave all parties dissatisfied. Obama voices his support for Israel, the safety of its people, and its right to exist, which is anathema to the legions of far-left, pro-Hamas supporters we’ve seen come out of the bushes in the past two weeks. These folks weren’t clamoring for a two-state solution; they wanted Israel destroyed, along with its people.

This was Israel’s war to fight and we would provide material and vocal support, but allow them to handle it as they saw fit. That lasted for about two weeks. And now both the Secretary of State and the Defense Secretary are clearly preparing the country for the possibility that the entire situation may blow
