The House speakership has not been a happy thing for Republicans lately. While Nancy Pelosi was a raging leftist who successfully corralled her party and rammed through the leftist agenda (love her or hate her, she was effective), the same cannot be said for recent Republican speakers. John Boehner and Paul Ryan were RINOs. Kevin McCarthy was much more conservative, and for that he deserves credit, but he reneged on promises, especially about January 6. Since his ouster, though, it’s been one humiliation Now, however, with Byron Donalds having thrown his hat in the ring, there’s hope.
Whether you think Matt Gaetz was bold to punish yet another.

He's solid. Plus they can call anyone who doesn't vote for him a racist.

So sick of this "First Black Man or Woman" regarding any candidate for anything. The only thing I care about is the qualifications, competence, honesty, love of our Republic, and whether the person is willing to fight the communist death democrat regime which is destroying our country. If Byron Donald's meets the above criteria then we should consider him for Speaker. Enough of the communist death democrat propaganda media created Affirmative Action race garbage.

He seems pretty decent to me. A justice Thomas like Black conservative as speaker might just work really well. Might be fun to watch Pelosi laugh and mock him and see how that goes down with African Americans.

Works for me. And I can’t wait to see the optics of the demonicrats voting against the black guy.
#2, the difference here is that Donalds is actually qualified and a good choice, unlike all of the left’s “first black lesbian immigrant woman whatevers”.

My fellow Brooklynite - - Byron Donalds - - would be a perfect Speaker for our cause - - so, of course - - he doesn't stand a chance.

FTA:
“Trump supporting, gun owning, liberty loving, pro-life, politically incorrect Black man.” In addition, he supports economic freedom, nuclear power, less government in healthcare, and no Green New Deal.
Wow, if this is all correct, and I trust Widburg, so it probably is - he could be a good guy to take the reins.

He's black which is the only qualification the dems need so they should all vote for him. It would be better if he was gay or actually a tranny but let's start with black first. s/o
I have no problem with Donalds. I too have seen him many times being interviewed. Liked what I saw. Get this done and get the show on the road. Every day that the republicans don't lead they look stupid and foolish and lose those fence sitting voters. Heck, they have lost me.

Matt Gantz started it all and for what? Please get on with it and vote for Byron Donald’s. Let’s come together and put this nonsense to rest.

Ain't gonna happen. The dems and rino's didn't like McCarthy - they're gonna hate Donalds.

I don't think a freshman representative is going to be elected speaker. The position requires considerable knowledge of the House, and political system.

Byron's inexperience is not worse than the seasoned criminals with questionable pasts. I'll take a novice and a smart person over criminal fools anyway. Think about the vegetable we have squatting in the WH. He's been criminal and an abject fool for decades, but he's now leader of the free world and feverishly destroying it. Byron comes from a financial background; he understands money. He can figure out the real rules of that sorry body; in fact, he can make it way better. And, he was a Tea Party member, and he knows that the 2020 election was stolen. And, he's unafraid to say it. He's worth a shot.

While I'm excited for this great pick, I was dismayed at seeing the typo under his name as a Democrat from Florida! I looked through the comments to see if anyone else caught it. It upset me at first thinking a Dem was running as speaker of the house.

Unless their Gestapo, the FBI, has enough dirt on Donald so they can control him, the RINOs and Democrats will not allow him to become speaker.

Trump was a novice when he became POTUS, & he accomplished more for the good in four years - against all odds & countless foes - than those with many previous years of experience. Experience can be used for bad rather than good too.

I would feel great if the conservatives were smart enough to have put Jim Jordan up to take the slings and arrows and expose the RINOS, then nominate Byron Donalds. This will appear Sooo... racist if he is turned down..

I have listened to Byron a lot on War Room. It’s a good sign if a Rep or Senator will even go on with Bannon. Byron made the point it’s important to announce, FIGHT to the end, keep voting and boldly make your case if you expect to win. I didn’t hear anyone else in House talk like that but Gaetz.
Let’s really get behind him!

He would be great but as Jordan was rejected so will Donalds. McCarthy was the most conservative candidate that could attain the speakership. Thanks to Gaetz and company the next speaker will be way to the left of McCarthy.

I'm surprised and puzzled by the folks the somehow think that the Congress being temporarily disabled is a bad thing, something that is needed to be urgently fixed.
Congress only harms us 98% of the time. A paralyzed Congress is, IMO, an unalloyed, unambiguous BENEFIT.
What, exactly, is it that is so urgently needed from these criminals, thieves and idiots? Nothing that I can think of. I'd be happy if they stayed shut down for a few years.

The few times I’ve seen congressman Donalds on TV, I’ve been pleased to hear what he had to say. Whether actions accompany what I’ve heard, I dunno. Time will tell. As far as becoming speaker of the house, I’m guessing that’ll be up the Nasty Nazi Nancy and her democrats in the Republican Party if they vote him in.
