During an interview with NBC News on Monday, 2024 Republican presidential candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stated that the 2020 election was poorly run, but we had mass mail-in balloting because “Trump turned the government over to Fauci, they embraced lockdowns, they did the CARES Act, which funded mail-in ballots across the country. Donald Trump signed that bill that funded the mail ballots that all the Republicans have been so concerned about.” And that the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story “was Donald Trump’s FBI that was working with that.”

How low can he go? My estimation is that the depth of his depravity won't be known until just before he's forced out of the race. May not be long.

August 2020:
President Donald Trump says he opposes additional funds for the US Postal Service as it would boost mail-in voting he claims would help Democrats.
Mr Trump has previously claimed that mail-in voting would hurt his campaign, which polls show to be in a tight race with Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Democrats denounced Mr Trump's comment, saying his position is an attempt to prevent Americans from voting him out.
A record number of people are expected to vote by mail due to the pandemic.
On Wednesday, Mr Trump told reporters he refused to sign off on $25bn (£19bn) in emergency funding for the Postal Service or $3.5bn for election security due to the high price tag.
Mr Trump has repeatedly condemned mail-in voting as an opportunity for fraud and election interference.

DeSantis is NOT entirely wrong. Trump presided and endorsed the vaccines and the lockdowns. I'd have tremendously more respect if he acknowledged the errors without hiding behind some version of 'They made me do it.'. At the end of the day the buck stopped with him.

DeSantis needs some new research people. August 2020:
In an Aug. 13 interview, Trump admitted that he opposes a coronavirus pandemic relief bill crafted by the House Democrats because it includes funding for the U.S. Postal Service and state election officials — funding that Trump said is needed to allow the Postal Service to handle an expected surge in mail-in voting.
Maria Bartiromo, the host of “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business, asked Trump “what specifically are [the Democrats] pushing for that is causing this breakdown in any deals.” The president singled out two provisions in the HEROES Act, or the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act.
Trump, Aug. 13: They want $3.5 billion for something that will turn out to be fraudulent, that’s election money basically. They want $3.5 trillion — billion dollars for the mail-in votes, OK, universal mail-in ballots, $3.5 trillion. They want $25 billion, billion, for the Post Office. Now they need that money in order to have the post office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots.

DeSantis is right. The rigging occurred during the Trump administration and he was in charge of the FBI when it censured the laptop story. Denying that reality is useless. What I want to know is what Trump is doing to prevent another rigged election. Endorsing Ronna McDaniel rather than Harmeet Dillon to run the RNC was not a good move.
As for DeSantis’s accurate criticism, I’d like him to say what should have been done then and what could be done now to ensure electoral honesty. I wish both men would focus on Biden rather than going after each other. At least DeSantis’s criticism is accurate unlike the nonsense Trump spews about him.

Ron, Ron, Ron, you have crossed the rubicon. Do you really think we are that ignorant? I loved you as my Gov, but, you are a disingenuous candidate . You had your posse in the Florida Senate to change the rules to allow you to run for Prez after you were just re-elected. You shut down the state. Ask my friends that are small business owners - you crippled them. Now you are holier than Trump? Please. You have lost my support for your future political endeavors. And, I’m from NEFlorida. You are owned by the monied elites. You are nothing more than a political gold digger - perhaps you need not listen to Casey for career pointers as she is not that astute.

Sure, all of that happened under the Trump administration, but if he, or anyone, thinks the FBI and DOJ were working with, or even for, President Trump, they are sorely mistaken.
Both organizations were used to investigate him, and his administration even BEFORE he was elected and inaugurated.
Even members of his own party were concerned the Russiagate issue was true, some may still today.
The pandemic spending was out of control and pushed by one and all. After all, they ended up shutting down the economy. Some only recently had to start paying their rent, for goodness sake.
"Mostly peaceful demonstrations that caused billions of dollars in damage" took place.

Gosh, #14, what do you suggest President Trump do about election rigging? He’s not currently in office. Any ideas? Your comments are as disingenuous as the governor’s.
As a side note: “Citoyen” is the French word for citizen. It was mandated after the French Revolution (the first communist revolution) that every person in the country address each other as such, rather than Madame, Monsieur, or Mademoiselle. It is basically the same as the Russians addressing each other as comrade. Interesting, no?

b) someone somewhere has some 8xx12 glossies or worse - video !
c) his family has been 'threatened'
or
d) this was ALWAYS Ron's true colors hence Donald Trump's derisive moniker for him.
There ARE NO OTHER possibilities - one or more of the above items - your choice - We will never know for sure.

#19 is entirely correct. Since Trump is not in office there is not much he can do to fix our lousy election systems. When he was in charge he blew it and, unfortunately, recently blew it by lobbying to keep failure Ronna McDaniel in charge of the RNC.
What he can do is campaign to expand his support. List the failures of the current regime and say what he will do to correct course. He needs to win beyond the margin of cheat. Attacking Nancy Pelosi and griping about his persecution does nothing to attract the votes he needs to win.

Get real. The "rigging" was organized BEFORE Donald Trump was elected, with the goal of keeping him out of the White House in the first place. It wasn't "Trump's" FBI. The agency was corrupted before he got there, and the DOJ continues to persecute him because it's clear that the entire operation, beginning in 2015-16 was designed to thwart the will of the American people. I'm very disappointed in Mr. DeSantis. He's starting to sound whiny, much like Mike Pence.

Well Ron, Trump never claimed to be perfect. Yes, putting Pence in charge of the COVID team was a big mistake along with keeping Fauci and Birx around. But to Trump's credit, from the day he rode down that escalator, everyone in establishment: Republicans like McConnell, Paul Ryan, the legacy media and the administrative set were gunning for him. I don't think you could have survived such scrutiny. I remember his interview about wanting to open the country back up by Easter 2020 and he was shower by everyone. BTW Ron - the governors are the ones who closed down their states. And what if your state's surgeon general was not an original thinker and just followed along with Fauci - would you have ignored him and Fauci?
Did Trump make mistakes? Yes he did, but you have not? Instead of taking responsibility for your failing campaign, you instead just fire people and hire more establishment hacks.

Trump didn't embrace endless lockdowns. After the initial one, the states, including Florida, were responsible for the lockdowns. The President is not a dictator who could tell the states they had to open up. As for the FBI, it was the deep state at work. Mail-in ballots also were a state issue. They were used where it was not legal and were illegally collected by Zuckerberg money, not the Fed's.

Does this little guy and others who support this drivel even remember what was going on during Covid? It was not President Trump who declared Fauci as king of all science, it was the democrats and the media. If you said anything against the little white coated troll you were cancelled immediately, doctors who opposed Fauci’s science were at risk of losing their licenses. When Fauci said they needed anything, Trump was there. Remember the medical ship that sat in New York harbor with hardly any patients? How about the ventilators that Trump made possible when they told him we did not have enough? He moved heaven and earth to provide everything Fauci and Brix demanded we needed. The lies we were told by Fauci were monumental and actually caused deaths. He is the heinous villain in this little drama, not Trump. Any doctors who had effective alternate therapies were shut down and called quacks. Fauci instilled fear instead of real information and advice. Remember when President Trump inquired about ivermectin and other therapies and he was ridiculed and shut down. He was dependent upon the experts as we all were and they, were actually undermining real science.
Ron DeSaintis has made his bed with the very people who caused this country’s decline. They are complicit with democrats and do not want this country to be great again. Their only goal is to make themselves great again. That is not going to happen because President Trump has revealed who they are and why they would sell the country out in a heart beat to comply with the globalist agenda. Self-righteous Ron had me fooled for a time but now He has shown just how loathsome he is. I will not ever vote for him because voting for a disloyal liar is not a possibility for me. He was either a sleeper agent for the GOPe from the beginning or the GOPe recently offered him something he could not refuse. Either way, he is unfit for office. Go home to Florida, Ron. They can have you! No one could possibly trust you now.

I had great hopes for Ron DeSantis, thought he could be a solid opponent in 2024 and the most promising candidate on the 2028 horizon. Not only has he blown any chance for 2024 he has burned his chances in 2028. He won't message his way out or run the clock out on accountability for accepting the layers or interlaced absurdities one must accept to believe the 2020 election was legitimate and holding Trump responsible for the actions of the swamp that opposed, betrayed and sabotaged him. Some of you were way ahead of me in identifying Ronny as a swamp rat. I was had.

Trump makes it easy.
1) Wray is a Trump appointee.
2) Barr was a Trump appointee.
3) Candidate Biden from his basement about a great plan in place to steal the election. We were warned.
4) Trump endorsed McDaniel over Dillon
5) Trump got rolled by Fauci.
6) Trump appointed Pence to head up the Covid initiative.
7) Trump brags about his “warp speed” vaccine which has killed thousands of young people and now we have learned has a dormant spike protein in all injected that will manifest in eight or ten years into God knows what.
8) Birx wrote a book bragging about how easy it was to lie to and manipulate Trump.
9) Cities burned, businesses were destroyed and Antifa and BLM came into power on Trump’s watch.
10) The George Floyd fiasco also happened on Trump’s watch. Four grandiose funerals!! Rioting in the streets.
11) Trump was responsible for losing two senate seats in Georgia and let us not forget Pennsylvania.
Covid was a scam as was the January 6th “insurrection”. People are imprisoned without due process for being Trump supporters and attending his rally. Where is he?
DeSantis was the best Conservative governor in the country. People were flocking to his state. He has served his country and was on the committee that tried valiantly to discredit the Mueller investigation. And now we beat him to a pulp and all we have left is Trump who is his own worst enemy. And that infuriates me. It is not about him. The future of this country is at stake and Republicans are fighting each other.
United we stand. God Bless America.

It is beyond pathetic to watch a man that I once respected and admired self-destruct in a manner that only benefits the true enemies of my beloved country. Think about it. Ron DeSantis could have been shoe in for the 2028 nomination for POTUS. Now he has not only nuked himself this time around he has for the next four-year run. That only benefits the party that fraudulently put an elderly, mentally defective, lying, hypocritical racist pedophile in my White House. He's taking the advice from RINO fools like Rove, GWB, JEB, Luntz, Ryan and others who hate PDJT and do not want him anywhere near DC again. In my humble opinion the damage to RD is irreversible at this point.

DeSantis was all lockdown all the time originally. He only changed his tune when he detected the political wind change, and knew he could catch some momentum being against the lock down. Politicians like that cannot be trusted.
