Dershowitz: Jack Smith Could be Indicted
for Fraud for Omitting Trump’s ‘Peaceful’ Statement

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz says that under his own “fraud” standard, Special Counsel Jack Smith could be indicted for omitting a key portion of then-President Donald Trump’s speech in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021. The indictment charges Trump with four counts, including “conspiracy to defraud the United States.” But in a portion recounting Trump’s speech at the “Stop the Steal” rally, Smith repeats the errors made by House Democrats in Trump’s second impeachment trial: he focuses on Trump’s use of the phrase “fight like hell,” and omits a sentence highlighted by Trump’s defense team: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching

You know, if I really need a lawyer and I'm in trouble, I think I will try to hire the Dersh. But if you think that Smith and his handpicked Trump-hating judge in DC are going to give him anything close to a fair trial, well, let's just say it's a better chance that I win the next five lottery jackpots and that the entire Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders team stops by my house tomorrow night for an all-night sleepover/lingiere party with me as the sole chaperone.

An aside, posters here never disappoint. They are on point and do it with such humor and grace. When I get frustrated about all the corruption and unfairness going on today, I am glad to know that I am not alone. We very well may behind the eight ball because of the rampant lawlessness of this administration, but my fellow LDotters give me hope that all is not lost. We will not submit to these radicals trying to destroy our way of life and the greatest country on this planet. Each illegal act we witness this cabal commit only hardens my resolve to never quit and never submit to this illegitimate administration. MAGA 2024!

Dershowitz is dreaming. It's a nice dream but it's chances of happening are negligible.

Upwards of 3,000 U.S. sailors and Marines sailed into the Red Sea on Monday after transiting the Suez Canal in a pre-announced deployment, the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet said in a statement. The reinforcements were carried aboard the USS Bataan and USS Carter Hall warships, providing “greater flexibility and maritime capability” to the Fifth Fleet, the statement seen by AFP added. Their arrival followed a U.S. announcement last month it would deploy a destroyer, F-35 and F-16 warplanes, along with the Amphibious Readiness Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit, to the Middle East to deter Iran from seizing ships in the Gulf.

Foot-stomping and chants echoed around the venue, making it abundantly clear that the senator’s reception was far from warm in his home state. He is done. Last week, the country’s main opposition leader was hit with a new prosecution that could see him serve an effective life sentence in prison. The charges were vague, and political in nature. He was accused of inciting extremism and encouraging other people to break the law. He is being railroaded through a judicial system that is deferential to the government. He cannot appeal to public opinion in his own defense: the country’s media are hostile to him, and he has been censored on most platforms in any case. The country in question was not the United States, but Russia. The Republican leader, 81, later returned and answered questions from the press, telling CNN’s Manu Raju, “I’m fine.”
