President Joe Biden has begin using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine at night to treat his sleep apnea, the White House announced on Wednesday.
“Since 2008, the president has disclosed his history with sleep apnea in thorough medical reports,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said. “He used a CPAP machine last night, which is common for people with that history.”Biden, the nation’s oldest president at 80, first disclosed his recurring issue with sleep apnea in his 2008 medical records. Biden’s 2019 medical records revealed he had multiple surgeries on his sinus and nasal passages.
I have no problem with Biden needing to use a CPAP machine as I do myself being in my 60's. I do have a problem with both sides of the media studiously ignoring his dementia though. That stinks. But a CPAP machine is fine in my book.

I gotta call bovine excrement on this one, pal. It’s the plastic surgery that’s screwed up his face and what’s behind it. He and Pelousy are walking cadavers.

Sleep apnea... a fancy name for snoring, which a lot of men do.

Calling a CPAP a respiratory machine is like calling a toothpick a dental tool.
His sleep apnea is the least of his problems....mental and physical.

Pretty much every male over 40 should be using a CPAP.

Are you telling me he doesn’t blow it out his arse? On a different note, I saw the Orioles in Baltimore have big rainbows all over their field, on the grass. So I rooted for the other surprisingly good young team, the Reds of Cincy, who promptly embarrassed them at home and beat them soundly in 10 innings.

#3, sleep apnea is NOT a "fancy word for snoring". It means you stop breathing for extended periods, several times a night, and it does a lot of damage to a person's organs, etc. I'm not a guy, I sleep on my side and don't snore, but do have sleep apnea, and have my whole life. When I was younger I would try to wake myself up to take a breath. It's very scary.

Agree with some of the above. Wouldn't consider myself as using a "respiratory device" for the past 14 years. And for 15+ years prior to that I staggered around like a zombie before learning about sleep apnea and its harmful effects - feeling better in my late sixties than I did in my late thirties. As to why the vegetable had strap marks mid morning, either he'd just awakened from his first nap for the day or all the plastic molded into his face takes longer to fall back into shape than natural flesh.

A friend of mine just had surgery for some sort of implant that I presume provides some sort of electrical stimuli to correct the sleep apnea. The doc will turn the device on in a week or so and I’m interested to see how it does for him. He didn’t like the mask.
Big Bidet should sleep with a diaper to protect the environment. His breathing is of no consequence.

Sleep has always been a problem for me. In my earlier years I had a few drinks before going to bed. It worked. The secret is to drink enough to go to sleep but not enough to give you a hangover. Then health problems forced me to become a teetotaler. So now I take a melatonin pill and an antihistamine before bed. Then I think of a really boring topic when I close me eyes. No, not politics. I try to solve geometry problems in my head.

Would a plastic bag and duct tape work?

I have used a CPAP and the marks disappear after a few minutes and certainly once I’m out of the shower. That mark did not look like a CPAP mark.

I was INCREDIBLY excited when I saw the word APNEA applied to Joe Biden but then I read the article and found out it was only sleep apnea. Shoot!

As a Bipap user for over 10 years, I can tell you this headline is both very misleading but also scary. Yes, technically it’s a respiratory device, but he hasn’t been “placed” on it. No, he has simply apparently started using a CPAP machine, despite being diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2008. Perhaps sleep apnea is not very severe, but if it is moderate to severe, that is the scary part. It’s a wonder he’s alive at all, and yes, living with untreated, sleep apnea all these years would certainly very likely have a great affect on his daily performance.

There is a chest implant now to control sleep apnea...and the pResident doesn't have this latest device?
Maybe he doesn't have sleep apnea but something else and sleep apnea is a convenient excuse.

If "they" say it's a CPAP machine it's NOT a CPAP machine!

I wonder what the setting is on his CPAP machine happens to be. Does he keep it on all night, or does he take it off at times? Is he using a mask, or nasal pillows? Does he wear a chin strap to keep from breathing through his mouth? If not, then the cpap is useless. While it's been years since I conducted a sleep study, the CPAP can help some people, but from my experience, only about ten percent of the people who might benefit from using the cpap can actually tolerate it. Many will get one because their spouse and doctor insist on it, but they will never actually use it simply because it's uncomfortable and only really works if one lies still and on their backs for the entire night.

The Lady Chihuahua uses a CPAP every night. I used to use a BIPAP and stopped. Problem cleared up (for the most part) after I lost weight. If what Biden is wearing is a CPAP or a BIPAP, this is one giant nothingburger. It's not out of the realm of possibility that what's going on is different. Biden and company coverup everything. I wonder if he is using oxygen during the day. Does Biden have a respiratory problem like COPD? Watch Biden for shortness of breath. Another person mentions the lines on his face could be from plastic surgery. These people are all about looks so that is certainly possible.

I know people in their 40's that have to use a CPAP. The fact that Biden is evil and has a mental disorder is what frightens me.

A CPAP is used to mitigate sleep apnea, which is common among people over 60 and is not unusual for people over 40 who are not well-rested after a night of sleep. Calling it a "Respiratory Device" in headlines (giving the impression that it's like hospital equipment) is the kind of perception-shaping spin I'd come to expect from the Liberal MSM. Seeing spin and omission being routinely used in the Conservative media nowadays doesn't make me feel empowered. Rather the opposite -- I don't know whether there is any source of trustworthy reporting, any more.
Thanks a bleepin lot.

Re #3, that's a vast oversimplification that misses the key point. Sleep apnea is interference with proper breathing that is the KEY part of the problem. Is snoring involved? Usually, yes, but there are people who snore but breathe fine and there can be sleep apnea without out snoring, too.
I have had family members that needed these machines to get a decent night's sleep. I sometimes snore, and so does my wife, but neither of us need the machine to sleep soundly.
