A San Francisco teacher has been suspended for singling out and discriminating against her white male students. Lowell High School teacher Nicole Noel Henares allegedly made the white male students in her English class stand “as a group” and answer whether they “felt like a minority” last fall, according to a letter from the San Francisco Unified School District to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which was obtained by Fox News. (snip) Students also confirmed that Henares has used inappropriate materials in her class, including the Lil Nas X song “Montero/Call Me By Your Name,” which has “sexually explicit lyrics and themes,” the district’s letter said.

Read the details. The teacher was acturally rewarded with en extra long Christmas - New Years break. She may have lost a few days pay but I bet 90% of the teachers would have taken that deal in order to get about two more weeks added to their Winter vacation. In a year or so, barring further problems, the incident will be purged from her employment records.

Lowell has traditionally been held as an exceptional high school for talented students. I’ve read about Ms. Nicole Henares who presents herself as a very pale skinned bright red lipsticked and pitch black haired cross between hippie/goth/Miss Gultch and a self-regarding “poet” in the way in which so many lunatics do. She described herself as having an obsession for a homeless poet who died of a drug overdose in the city. Any interview of her I could find revealed a woman-child without a firm grasp on reality and a passion for her “patron Saint” Duende, the “spirit” who inhabits art. In other words, her career in poetry is a bust, she is embittered and has focused her anger on the imaginary villains du jour, the white patriarchy, and preys on young versions of her hatred for kicks. She is corrosive.

New York City's Conflicts of Interest Board on Thursday ordered former Mayor Bill de Blasio to pay nearly $475,000 for misuse of his New York Police Department security detail during his failed 2020 Democratic presidential campaign. (snip) "... there is no City purpose in paying for the extra expenses incurred by that NYPD security detail to travel at a distance from the City to accompany the Mayor or his family on trips for his campaign for President of the United States," the board stated in its report. The board also said it advised de Blasio "to this effect prior to his campaign" but he "disregarded" the advice.

Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said on Thursday there would be a second attempt to censure California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff after the first try failed. The House voted on Wednesday to kill Luna's first bill that would have censured Schiff. The vote was 225 to 196, with seven members voting present. Twenty Republicans voted alongside the Democrats to table the resolution. Luna says that she has come to an agreement with the 20 Republicans who voted against her bill. The main difference is that the first bill called for fining Schiff up to $16 million, which is not part of the new version of the bill.

Misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda are military tools as old as war. While both sides in the Russia-Ukraine war exaggerate their battlefield gains, American taxpayers expect the United States government to calibrate those claims and report progress honestly for the $116 billion in funds donated to the war effort. (snip) We found that the Times and its propaganda press cousins it leads are so aligned with the Biden and Zelenskyy administrations that daily reporting is horrendously and deliberately inaccurate. Ukrainian gains and Russian losses are vastly exaggerated; Russian gains and Ukrainian losses are heavily minimized, even not reported.

Monday, the nineteenth of June, is our newest federal holiday (just 2 years old), Juneteenth, and federal workers get yet another day’s pay without having to work for it. Since the federal workforce is heavily overrepresented with black workers (18.2% of the federal workforce versus 12.6% of the population), the words “disparate impact” come to mind, benefitting African Americans with a paid holiday that not too many other employees get, judging by the fact that I was able to book two appointments with service providers tomorrow before I even realized Monday was holiday.

That’s the only explanation I can give for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) berating the state of Florida for executing Duane Owen, who was convicted of raping and murdering a 14-year-old babysitter and a 38-year-old mother of two. Indeed, the ACLU is strongly opposed to capital punishment. But the organization only made passing reference to their opposition to the death penalty.
