A grand jury has indicted former U.S. Marine Daniel Penny in connection with the chokehold death of Jordan Neely aboard a subway train. The exact charges will not be unsealed until Penny appears in court at a later date, the sources said. Penny was initially arrested on a second-degree manslaughter charge. Video showed Penny, 24, putting Neely in a chokehold on May 1. Several witnesses observed Neely making threats, assistant district attorney Joshua Steinglass told the judge. Some witnesses told police that Neely was yelling and harassing passengers

I guess that since Penny's Give/Send/Go is at $2.8M, the NY Lawfare crooks will force him to spend it on a baseless case and spend piles of taxpayer $ on a losing case. They'll also undoubtedly have to hire their crony private lawyer friends to advise and line their pockets as well. Heinous grifters all of them.

I read recently of a young man - not unlike Daniel Penny - who was visiting Marian shrines in France, and when walking through a town square came upon a man with a knife who was chasing a woman pushing a baby carriage. That young man only had his backpack to disarm the man, but he knew he had to do what-ever he could to protect the woman and her baby. So he ran after the man and hit him repeatedly with his backpack. Help came and the woman and her baby survived. He was called a hero by everyone. The man on the subway who lost his life was acting and speaking in an extremely threatening manner toward others on the train, including women and children. The man had forty-three (43) prior arrests, some for assault. One incident involved a child. I daresay everyone on that moving train (no place to run) felt their lives were threatened. Mr. Perry realized someone had to do something, and he tackled the man and used a submission hold to subdue him. His intent was to bring him down and get him under control. Other male passengers on the train assisted him when he pulled the man to the floor. Everyone on that train was grateful that Daniel Perry saved their lives, especially the children. Obviously, this whole incident had nothing to do with race as there were people of color who helped Daniel hold the man down and there were people of color who felt relieved that someone did something to protect them. Don't ruin a decent young man's life because he was being altruistic - a quality that is much too rare these days. The motivation for way too much in our culture is "what's in it for me?" For a change, someone was truthfully thinking about others more than himself. Call him a hero as well.

Alvin Bragg’s motto is “If you see something, do nothing.” The subways are full of Neely’s. To the governor and the DA she refuses to see any problem with, this is an acceptable level of violence. The governor has armed guards. Bragg has a security detail. You are on your own. If vigilantes spring up from this, don’t be surprised.

New York loves its psychos. Its like they are a major tourist draw. A grand jury only hears one side of a case. They are supposed to decide if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial. I was on a grand jury for six months and it is hard not to indict when the prosecutor is only presenting his side. The only time we didnt indict was a police brutality case and the cops conveniently "lost" all the evidence against their boy. He was guilty as hell but no proof.

A hero’s life is about to be ruined. I guess he should have just let the man continue to threaten everyone on the train, women and children included. So it has come to this. No non-black is allowed to touch a black. Just let them do whatever they want and suffer the consequences. This will not end well. Mr. Penny was a hero to the people on that subway car. We don’t prosecute heroes in this country until now. So what has changed? Could it be a lawless government that refuses to prosecute wrong doing?! Folks, you are on your own. My only advice, stay out of democrat run cities. You are no longer safe there and to defend yourself means you will be prosecuted. Pray for Mr. Penny. He is up against terrible odds. Hopefully, there will be one courageous person on the jury who will understand that the man is innocent.

Stop with the use of "chokehold" as it immediately implies Officer Chauvin (using a MPD approved technique BTW) and Georg Floyd. Which of course, is the sole reason for describing Mr. Penny restraining the criminal Neely. Maybe 10 years ago I was riding the DC/MD/VA subway system into DC for work. Lone female in the railcar - this was about 7:00am along with maybe seven or so males (they weren't MEN) and some young black thug, out of the blue, decides he's going to start screaming at me and threatening to eff me up, called me obscenities, etc and I just sat there. As my stop approached I got to my feet and the thug was still screaming at me and I looked back at the male passengers and not one even looked up at me - all had their heads buried in their phones, books, whatever. And one of them was in an Army uniform. I was so disgusted. I got off at my stop and luckily the piece of crap human being didn't get off after me.

Re #18: It was a rear naked choke that quieted Neely, taught in thousands of martial arts schools, and in military unarmed self defense. That technique is absolutely effective in about ten seconds unless the miscreant can throw the choker off his back, as his carotid arteries are squeezed shut, preventing blood from getting to his brain. Unconsciousness results without any drugs at all. The problem with choke holds is that if such a hold is kept on for too long, the chokee will die from a brain without blood. What's happening to Daniel Perry is reason #1,000 to get out of Gotham. Blue cities eventually become unlivable. Where attackers have more rights than defenders, get out.

Florida Gov.
