The U.S. Army is considering a new tape test that will help officers measure a soldier’s body fat, according to a new report.
"We want well-balanced soldiers," Army Sgt. Maj. Michael Grinston told Task and Fitness in March. "We didn’t want people to game it so you’d be really strong in one area, but you wouldn’t be well-rounded in fitness overall."
The previous tape test, which the Army uses to determine body fat content, measured soldiers around their necks, waists and hips. Critics have long called the method outdated and inadequate for gauging fitness, according to military.com.

Majorities of registered voters believe that special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment of former President Donald Trump is “politically motivated” and election interference, according to a Harvard/Harris poll.
A portion of the poll, which was conducted after Trump’s arraignment, gauged public perception of the 37-count indictment relating to classified documents Trump allegedly took to Mar-a-Lago at the end of his presidency. Of the registered voter respondents, 55 percent believe that the indictment is “politically motivated” versus 45 percent who find it “valid.”

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) voiced their anger towards the state of Florida because they executed a prisoner on death row, who claimed to be transgender, because they did not provide "medically necessary gender-affirming care." Using female pronouns to refer to Duane Owen, a convicted murderer and rapist, the ACLU said by not providing "gender-affirming care" it resulted in "enormous suffering and violating her right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment for the more than 30 years she was in state custody."

Merrick Garland began his tenure as attorney general with the stated intention of restoring faith in the Justice Department and the rule of law. By that standard, Garland has been a failure.
In fact, if anything, the crisis of faith surrounding his department has only deepened on his watch, and he bears some of the blame. Polls show that half the country distrusts the FBI. Which has got to leave a sour taste in Scott's mouth, given that he's the only black man in the presidential race, and what's more, he's actually lived firsthand through the era of real racism as a child growing up in the South.
