The family of the homeless man put in a fatal chokehold on the F train by straphanger Daniel Penny plans to file a wrongful-death lawsuit against the former Marine, The Post has learned. (snip) Now Neely’s aunt, Carolyn Neely, who represents Jordan’s estate, has hired the Manhattan law firm of Mills & Edwards to file a civil action against Penny, according to a letter obtained by The Post.
“Please be advised that this office has been retained . . . to pursue a claim for personal injuries and wrongful death. . . . Your action resulted in the death of Jordan Neely,” reads the missive sent to Penny’s attorneys this week.

Jordan Neely, whose number had to be disconnected before he attacked someone else, is obviously worth much more to his family dead than alive. They didn't help this habitual criminal while he was alive. Now they want to cash in. This nuisance lawsuit should be dismissed with prejudice.

Of course they are. Better chance for an undeserved jackpot than waiting for reparations. #1 is right on target.

Penny should sue THEM for not caring for the needs of this violent predator. STOP being nice and understanding to these people and do unto them as they would do unto you. Penny should also sue the city. They arrested his over 40 times and never helped him putting Penny and other citizens at risk. If the city does not protect it's citizens they we must protect ourselves. That is not being a vigilante just defending yourself.

Ghouls salivating over the carcass of Neely, about whom they didn't give a darn when he was alive.

I'm sure with his money, the lawyers can come up with a counter suit for the relatives. I don't think they can win this one.

Money rubbing race-baiters couldn't be bothered to have him treated or given a home, but swoop in like vultures to prophet from his death.

Why wasn't his family feeding him such he wouldn't feel the need to ride subways demanding money for food? Maybe it's his family who deserves the abuse and abandonment criminal case against them? Oh, and wait till the jury hears how many arrests and assaults this miscreant gutter goon had racked up prior to messing with a U.S. Marine.

The gimme-dat family of vultures just going for the reparations jackpot that their dead thug should have received. Is anyone surprised? Are they sucking up to Revrun Fat Al yet for his shakedown network to provide shyster lawyers? This will be fun to watch.

Exactly how much do these money-grubbing relatives think they are going to get from a former Marine living in NYC??? It's not like he has bottomless pockets. The man needed a GiveSendGo account to pay his legal bills and any moneys collected go directly to his legal team.
These people are dreaming if they thing they are going to get ANYTHING out of this!!

Since Neely was obviously so important and valuable to his family that think his actions were so great, maybe they should be sent to jail for life to serve the sentence that Neely should have already been serving.

Just like the rest of the garbage from north of 125 Street! If they receive what Neely's worth it will be a bill for services and reparations to NYC!

What about a toxicology report? Is that in yet? Does the Neely family have access to it?

And where was Jordan Neely's family when they needed him? These ghouls should be run out of town, not rewarded!

I'm surprised Benjamin Crump didn't get the family "enough" money to make them go away. He got Breonna Taylor's family $19 million. (Incidentally the settlement was approved by a majority Black city council and a Democrat mayor!)

I wonder----------Did the family approach the Manhattan Law Firm of Mills & Edwards or did the firm approach the family.
This firm specializes in personal injury law suits. How did the family just happen to pick them for this?

Let's consider Neely's taxable income, his earning potential, his employable skills, the number of his dependents (DNA verified dependents), etc.

Wow ya knew this Woukd happen. But I thought the devoted relatives to the homeless member of the family, Woukd wait until after the trial. Guess they need their money tight away. Must have places to go, things to see and items to purchase.
Guess I have to say, the one thing Neely did for his loving family was to be their cash cow!

"the homeless man put in a fatal chokehold".... no mention that he was threatening other passengers on the train, had 42 prior arrests.
Typical Leftist 'reporting'.
