Bud Light sales fell for the sixth consecutive week as the nationwide boycott continued over the beer company’s partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
One store, according to the New York Post, is charging $3.49 for a 24-pack — about $0.15 for one can — to get rid of unwanted beer.
Bud Light volumes for the week ending May 13 fell 28.4 percent, following a 27.7 percent drop the prior week, the report said, citing Beer Business Daily. (snip)
Since then, sales have tanked and Anheuser-Busch has so far lost nearly $19 billion, with shares down 14 percent.
Some stores are effectively giving the beer away for free.

I happened down the beer aisle in a big grocery store a week ago. All the other brands had various levels of stock, below the cooler rail, but tge BudLite was still piled high, not one case out of the stack.
Nobody was buying the stuff.

I just went to the local Dollar General earlier today. The cooler with budweiser products wasn't even lit. Left dark on purpose.

Cheaper than bottled water, but still not selling. Try giving it away. Still no takers.

This is nothing yet. The expense of picking it up , returning it and disposing of it will be extremely expensive.

Bud light has become the tipping point for people frustrated with the whole woke trans agenda to lash back -- saying we're not going to take it anymore. Too bad for the King of Beers a.k.a. Drag Queen of Beers, who is now the poster child for woke insanity.

For perspective, we bought Munich Beer in the early-seventies, 50 years ago, when the legal age for beer and wine was 18: three cases for $10.

went food shopping yesterday at my local Super Market, which has a liquor store in the same building and saw a guy in the parking lot loading five, 24 packs into his car, thought to myself "of course, this is Massachusetts, oh well"

Does that mean that A-B's plan to pick up unsold cases of Bud Lite was just a PR stunt? Never let a crisis go to waste.

Along with the Boston Tea Party reenactment, there should be a Boston Beer Party, with cases of Bud Light thrown overboard.

AB still has not learned their lesson and it has been a good hard lesson. They could offer me cases of Bud Light for free and pay for shipping and I would turn it down. Business writers of the future now have a great topic for a chapter on what not to do if you want to make a profit on a product. Alissa Heinerscheid will have difficulty finding future employment anywhere.

Went to a 2 day country music festival the last 2 days and saw only one person drinking a Bud light the entire time. Their sales are down a lot more than what the company is reporting.

It's not a boycott. Sane people have found a product they like better and switched. Budweiser screwed the pooch (Spuds McKenzie ?) on this one.

In the 1980’s Jesse Jackson started a boycott against AB. In the late 90s the shakedown ended when AB sold a large distributorship to two of Jackson’s sons who had no experience in the beer business. The Jackson boycott was a drop in the beer bucket compared to this one. We can hope that Jacksons have thousands of cases of past sales date Bud products on pallets at their warehouse.
