Arizona Republican Kari Lake is launching a grassroots “ballot-chasing” operation to boost Republican turnout in future Arizona elections and “paint the state red.” “We’re going to start rolling up our sleeves and playing by the same rules [Democrats] play by,” Lake said while surrounded by supporters at a May 23 press conference in Phoenix. “And when you get a fed-up mom who plays by those rules, watch out, because we’re not letting this happen again,” she added. Noting that nearly 90 percent of Arizona voters are on the permanent early voter list, Lake explained that her team,(snip) would be doing everything in their power to sway those voters and “take back” Arizona.

In Arizona, we don't count votes. We count ballots. And we print ballots. This is going to be tough.

Again, you're chasing fairies. When democrats have the voting rolls, and the ballots, they don't need voters! They can create the ballots. They can vote the ballots. They can count the ballots. Without the ballots ever leaving the building. You have to match the voter rolls ( the source of the ballots) to real legal voters. Or, you do not stand a chance...

Paint it red, like the town of Lago as Clint Eastwood did in "High Plains Drifter"?. or Paint it red with the blood of her enemies. Either one would be fun to watch.

According to Florida lobbyists, they have been contacted by state employees with instructions to send payments to the campaign of Ron DeSantis. The ethical problems within this effort are numerous and could potentially be legally liable for DeSantis government officials participating. At best, the issue is extreme swamp behavior, where DeSantis officials are pressuring lobbyists in Florida to donate to the DeSantis 2024 election campaign or their advocacy may be disregarded in state budget considerations. When state employees use their offices to solicit payments to political entities, the legal issues become very murky. Then again, this is swamp behavior – and when you hire the swamp to push your agenda,

The people managing Ron DeSantis previously planned to roll out his first in-person public appearance at a campaign kickoff next Tuesday at his childhood hometown in Dunedin, Florida. The team planned to use a little league field to represent the childhood background, apple pie and Americana image. Dunedin is a Tampa Bay suburb where DeSantis grew up and played Little League baseball. However, fearing backlash from Floria Republicans who are not happy with the deceptive 2022 gubernatorial campaign, in combination with a much larger polling of support for candidate Donald Trump, the DeSantis organizers cancelled the event. IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel told Congress the Justice Department (DOJ) made the decision to purge an IRS whistleblower from the DOJ’s probe into Hunter Biden, according to a letter sent to House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-MO). Werfel’s letter on May 17 responded to Smith’s May 16 inquiry about concerns that a high-ranking IRS agent faced retaliation for raising red flags about alleged political interference in the tax probe of Hunter Biden. Werfel said the decision to remove a whistleblower from the tax investigation was at the DOJ’s direction, confirming what a second IRS whistleblower alleged Monday.

David French, renowned dork and New York Times columnist, desperately needs everyone to know he is in Ukraine, cheering on more American taxpayer-funded war. But only so long as it means he personally remains safe and gets to continue presenting himself as an important expert on foreign conflict. The Times reported on Monday that the critical Ukraine territory of Bakhmut had been turned to dust and is now occupied by Russian troops. It was unfortunate timing for French, who wrote just a day before how fabulously positioned Ukraine was to gain a strategic advantage now that the Biden administration has prolonged the affair by clearing the way to supply it

Barbara Lee told a GOP-led hearing on Tuesday. “You’re not going to get border security coming first,” Lee told a GOP-picked witness, Rodney Scott, the former chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, who urged legislators to first protect the border before opening up more legal routes for migrants. You need to be able to balance it. You will not accept a border security and recognizing pathways to legal entry [bill]? … When the late [Sen. ] John McCain, we had a very strong comprehensive bill

The House voted on May 23 to overturn the Biden administration’s rule on heavy-duty vehicles’ tailpipe emissions, the latest knock against the president’s environmental agenda in a closely divided Congress and the forerunner to an expected Biden veto. The short piece of legislation would roll back a rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for trucks in December 2022. The rule, which can be read here, “sets stronger emissions standards to further reduce air pollution, including pollutants that create ozone and particulate matter, from heavy-duty vehicles and engines starting in model year 2027,” according to the EPA.

LONDON — A London judge rejected Prince Harry’s bid to pay for his own police protection Tuesday, denying the royal’s request to challenge the U.K. government in court. The British government stopped providing security after Harry, the younger son of King Charles III, and his wife, the former actress Meghan Markle, quit their royal duties and moved to California in 2020. It then rejected his offer to pay for protection when he visits home. A lawyer for the government argued in court that it was not appropriate to allow hiring “police officers as private bodyguards for the wealthy.”

However, the White House evaded an increasingly contentious debate over how to define antisemitism, avoiding a clear endorsement of a mainstream, widely accepted definition while simultaneously welcoming an alternative pushed by progressives who argue the former doesn't allow sufficient space to criticize Israel, the world's only Jewish state. The 60-page document details four pillars that undergird the strategy: increasing awareness and understanding of antisemitism and appreciation of Jewish American heritage,

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., slammed the Supreme Court's ruling Thursday that limited the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to regulate bodies of water, calling it a "MAGA" court even though the decision was 9-0. On Thursday, the high court issued an opinion that narrowed the EPA's broad definition of Waters of the United States (WOTUS). The court said the federal government must define WOTUS as a water source with a "continuous surface connection" to major bodies of water. The decision upended an attempt by the Biden administration to regulate wetlands, lakes, ponds, streams and other "relatively permanent" waterways, which had relied on a broad reading of the EPA's authority

The current reports of executive branch illegality make Watergate look like kindergarten mischief. It is clear from the Durham report and the work of House Republican hearings that the current scandals in the Biden White House – and senior bureaucracies at the Justice Department, IRS, and elsewhere – are much deeper and more cancerous than Watergate ever was. It may be hard to remember, but Watergate came about due to a weird, dumb, and fairly narrow set of criminal behaviors which mushroomed into 69 officials being indicted and 48 imprisoned. I remember Watergate vividly, because I first ran for Congress in 1974 during the Watergate scandal.

As of early trading on Thursday, however, shares of the company were trading off 1% at $141.76 — capping a weeklong tumble that has shrunk the “cheap chic” discount retailer’s value to $65.3 billion. That amounts to a 12% drop that has shaved a whopping $9 billion off the company’s market capitalization.
