On the first day since he formally announced his presidential campaign Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis indicated he might pardon former President Donald Trump or January 6 rioters – vowing to review convictions by a 'weaponized' Justice Department.
He made the statement in a radio appearance on the Clay and Buck show hosted by Clay Travis and Buck Sexton – after being asked specifically whether he thought January 6 defendants 'deserve to have their cases examined by a Republican president.'
He was also asked specifically about former President Trump – the main rival who has been ridiculing him since his glitch-filled announcement – 'gets charged with federal offenses' and whether he woul

One question for Ron. Was the 2020 election legitimate?

Talk about trying out anything to entice the massively loyal Trump conservative base. Yes, #2, but on FOX NEWS I doubt anyone will ask him that question.
“please clap.”

First day out of the box and Ronny boy hits the "Play and Cluck" show. Can't get any more RINO establishment than that. What a disappointing pair to have taken over the Golden EIB microphone, but appropriate they interview the disappointing governor that was so easily seduced by the Big Money Boys in the Uniparty's Republican wing.
The MAGA King is the only candidate for me. TRUMP 2024!

Why on earth would he think Trump needs a pardon? RD is exposing himself as being very shallow in his thinking, grasping straws now. Next thing will be another attack on Melania regarding her career in Europe when she was very young before she came to the US.

Mega-dittos, #4! How in the name of all that is good did those two nobodies end up with Rush's show?? I'd love to know how that all went down, but it's sickening. James Golden (aka Bo Snerdley) has his own show on WABC Talk Radio and does an amazing job.

For the millionth time, there was no riot. I watched from start to finish. No riot. Nada. A few people entered the House but did nothing. So Ron, there is nothing to pardon. Man how could someone doing so right end up being so absolutely wrong. You need to stop listening to the Bushes and RINO's.

Ron DeSantis is just another power hungry, money grubbing politician backed by the Club for Gross Profits and Me 1st, America Last movement and the Congressional Millionaire Caucus.
I like the America 1st/MAGA movement. It just makes you feel good!

Yeah, those shock jocks who took over Rush's time slot are a disappointment. I tried to stay with them for the first year or so but lost interest in them. Indeed, their preference for DeSantis is clear. Clay and Buck seem to have forgotten who Rush's clientele was and didn't do a lot to keep them. #2, another question for Ronnie boy - how do the Florida voters feel about him abandoning their state for the next year and a half after just being re-elected and promising the Florida voters he would not abandon them while he pretends he loves America more than Trump does?

January 6th did not happen as advertised but it's a nice gesture. It's like your mother forgiving you for stealing the cookies that the dog ate.

The Dem candidate is incompetent with a terrible track record.
Leave it to the Republicans to fight among themselves and split the conservative vote.
Flip a damn coin to decide who runs and the loser just shuts up.

If you ask me these three, Clay, Buck, and Ron are three huge disappointments. I try and listen to Clay and Buck but cannot for the life of me stick with them more than 5 minutes. They are boring, no sense of humor, and cannot articulate a conservative viewpoint to save them. If you stick with these three you will get the status quo Republican vision that most of the country is fed up with. Conservatives want someone to articulate a clear difference, not someone who tip toes around hot button topics. I want a candidate that is unafraid to say what he truly believes about all the issues that are facing the country today. I do not want someone to answer questions when you know their only goal is to just say enough to answer the question but they never reveal what they really think. Just give it to me straight from the heart with no filter, but that takes courage and politicians are known for having very little.
One thing is certain, we need Rush’s voice today and these two dunderheads do not have the ability to convey the conservative message. How did they get that gig? There were many more people out there more aligned with Rush’s view of America. We lost a tremendous voice when we lost Rush. I miss him everyday. I think of what a joyous time he would have had with Biden and smile at the thought. Rush was a master at using humor and ridicule in dealing with the leftist fools. I would love hear his take on the state of the country today. He would be on fire! Unlike these two buffoons who bore everyone to death.

# 5, don't you think that wrongful conviction deserves a presidential pardon?
# 9, this Florida voter knows his governor and is confident that he will not "abandon" his sworn duties.

I wonder why DeSantis is running. His financiers are not for him. They only want to get Trump. Does DeSantis think he will be treated any better than Trump? DeSantis will be under FBI and CIA surveillance should he ever lead in the polls. DeSantis would only replace Trump as the target.

DeSantis picked a bad election to jump in to. Trump can say anything he wants about DeSantis, true or not. It’s fine. Anything he says about Trump will be pounced on by Trump supporters immediately. I think he got sucked into a gotcha question by the media that he wasn’t prepared to answer. The correct response would have been ‘he hasn’t been charged with anything’.

Has Trump offered to help any of this J6 prisoners? Where is his contribution to any legal defense funds? He has shown no interest in them. At least DeSantis is speaking out!

I thought I liked him - lot of good things to like, and then he might try again in 2028, but I'm thinking that someone gives him a script to read before he goes on stage. I am sure Trump reads the polls but he also is his own man. DeSantis is paying people to give him poor advice.

#20 - Trump has talked about the J6 defendants at his rallies. If he said how much he has donated - you're the type that would say he is lying so why should Trump discuss any of his charitable donations?
We the People have every right to protest at The People's Building as Nancy Pelosi use to to describe The Capitol. If anything, we have more rights to do so at federal government buildings as we own them. But of course, mostly peaceful protests that resulted in millions of dollars in damage and destruction to private property during the summer of 2020 by Antifa and BLMers and it's let's move on. Of course, it's not as if the J6 protestors attacked the building for weeks the way Antifa and BLMers did to the Hatfield Federal Courthouse in Portland, OR. Any of them sent to federal prison for 18 years?

THIS is a total insult. Trump did NOTHING AT ALL that was wrong on January 6th.
DeSantis implying that he did makes me far less supportive of Mr. DeSantis.
