Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr said during an interview this week that special counsel John Durham’s report on the origins of the FBI’s investigation into former President Donald Trump “vindicated” the former president and that Trump was right from the beginning about what the Left was trying to do to him. Durham’s report found that the FBI had no evidence to support launching the investigation and found “sobering” differences in how the FBI approached the Trump probe compared to other politically sensitive investigations.Barr told Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Tuesday evening that Durham’s report was a “success” because it got to the bottom of what happened

President Trump has always made it clear that he wants to drain the DC swamp. As an established swamp creature, Bill Barr feels personally threatened. If the federal government is ever going to be put back on track the way our founders envisioned, it will not be possible unless an "outsider" like Trump is willing to take on this massive job God bless and protect him.

I am with #10. If the Deep State is ever to be defeated, we need a leader who fully understands that the Deep State is a reality and who has a personal vendetta against it. Otherwise, we get those who will surrender before they ever even take the field. Think of the movie Braveheart, where the lords ride to the front of the assembled army to discuss their negotiation strategy, how to surrender in exchange for more land and title. What we need, figuratively, is a William Wallace who will ride his steed into their castle and bludgeon them for their betrayal. That is why the people will support Trump, because he has the fire and fury. He will go down yelling, "Freedom!" (MAGA!) Then Ron DeSantis can ride to the front.

The establishment like Barr and Rove and Ryan and the Bushes understand the selection process to be top down--- they decide acceptable candidates and we chose from their list. There is no reflection on the idea that government players selecting government players--- the elite decide who will be elite- is repulsive to the idea of limited representative government. A political aristocracy that has accepted DeSantis on a probationary basis--- he is in as long as he blocks Trump and restocks government with the republican elite. Barr comes thisclose to saying what we all know--Trump, and by extension, his supporters, aren't our kind, dear. Government, and particularly the federal government is not a country club which has a membership committee

The very day that the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives canceled a Contempt of Congress vote against FBI Director Christopher Wray after the latter agreed to turn over a witness file containing bribery allegations against President Joe Biden stemming back to his days as vice president of the United States, Donald Trump—former president and current poll leader among prospective 2024 GOP presidential candidates—informed the public that he has been indicted for mishandling presidential documents. This extraordinary coincidence illustrates an important, baneful trend in American life: the use of criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits as a political weapon. With a gross profusion of federal, state, and local laws

Atlanta— Former President Donald Trump will make his first public appearances since his federal indictment, speaking on Saturday to friendly Republican audiences in Georgia and North Carolina as he seeks to rally supporters to his defense. Trump, who remains the front-runner for the 2024 GOP nomination despite his mounting legal woes, is expected to use his scheduled speeches at state party conventions in the two states to deliver a full-throated rebuke of the charges and amplify his assertions that he is the victim of a politically motivated “witch hunt” by Democratic President Joe Biden’s Justice Department. His appearances will come a day after the unsealing of an indictment
