D.C. House Democrat Delegate Eleanor Holmes is asking the U.S. Botanic Garden, on the grounds of Capitol Hill, to include marijuana – to showcase the plants' "impact" on the U.S. economy. After the Botanic Garden displayed hemp for its first time, Norton sent a letter to Executive Director Susan Pell, saying she liked the facility's hemp display and enquired about also having a marijuana one, too.

I wouldn't give a marijuana plant 12 hours to survive in Washington.

Many studies, as well as my own youthful and ongoing witness experience as a physician, conclude that there is a large, in the range of five fold, increase in incidence of thought disorder. This in regular as well as occasional marijuana users. Given the behavior of government over time, but particularly the past two years, I expect that use is quite heavy in Washington State as well as D.C. The “impact” that Holmes wishes has been negative.

There was a time, as recent as the 1930's, where wild hemp stands were growing everywhere in the US. Hemp fibers were the preferred material to make the ropes & lines common in sailing vessels, hemp was used in textiles and papermaking, but the practice of smoking it wasn't introduced until immigrants from the Caribbean and the Philippines started coming to America. Once officials began to realize that smoking hemp was an intoxicant, the whole Reefer Madness narrative took hold and smoking hemp was stigmatized. I'm not disagreeing with poster #3, but comparing alcohol consumption to smoking hemp shows much more societal and personal damage. Cirrhosis of the liver, crimes of passion, drunk driving deaths all surpass damage done by smoking hemp. And we well remember what happened when we tried to legislate morality and ban alcohol-we ended up with the birth of organized crime and created a new, huge sub-class of new criminals-people who liked a beer or two or a glass of wine or a mixed drink were all now potential perps. Let that sink in, while also bearing in mind the Left's unceasing attempts to take away our guns. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

President Trump endorsed Daniel Cameron in the Republican primary for the Kentucky governor’s race. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz, Mike Pompeo and Vivek Ramaswamy endorsed candidate Kelly Craft. Cameron won, Craft came in third. Kelly Craft is a big donor to the establishment Republican Party, hence all of the major donor-fueled Republican candidates supported her. Mrs. Craft outspent her opponents more than 10:1 spending more than $8.1 million, while the MAGA candidate Daniel Cameron spent just over $771 thousand and had the full support of President Donald Trump. Does this sound like a familiar pattern?

The report of Special Counsel John H. Durham into the origins of the “Russia collusion” investigation refutes the claims of an earlier Inspector General’s report that Democrats cited to defend the FBI and the probe itself. In late 2019, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz released the report of his investigation into the FBI’s “Russia collusion” probe. While Horowitz found there had been “serious performance failures,” he found no evidence of “intentional misconduct.” More broadly, he found that while the conduct of the probe — including fraudulent warrant applications — had been wrong, the investigation was opened for good reasons.

California's reparations task force is calling for the state legislature to require all cities and counties with allegedly segregated neighborhoods to submit all their real estate ordinances to a state agency for approval based on whether they maintain or lessen "residential racial segregation."
