Biden Unleashes The Regulatory Kraken
— And There’s No Land In Sight

In the span of a few weeks, the Biden administration has proposed regulations that would effectively ban gas stoves, force a massive shift to electric cars, sharply raise the cost of dishwashers, increase loan costs for frugal borrowers, regulate puddles as “navigable waters,” and limit hunting and fishing across the country. It will soon release a proposed rule targeting power plants with hugely expensive carbon capture mandates. This is just the tip of the spear. As the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Clyde Wayne Crews put it recently, “President Biden is leading an unprecedented expansion of the administrative state.

So a quick review on the separation of Powers as delineated in our Constitution. The EXECUTIVE BRANCH can plan, suggest, encourage, exhort...............but it is the LEGISLATIVE BRANCH that makes the laws. CONGRESS Needs to up its game and end this enemy within Presidency....along with his edicts which have no legal bearing.....

#1: “ CONGRESS Needs to up its game and end this enemy within Presidency....along with his edicts which have no legal bearing.....” Your post implies and assumes 1) that there are leaders in Congress 2) with a brain. There is no proof of either attribute anywhere. Otherwise, this venal, drooling Squatter would be gone.

Gas stoves, dishwashers, air conditioners, the internal combustion engine, they all have to go. Is there a pattern here? Sure, get rid of the engineering and technology that has made life easier in the past 2 or 3 centuries. these louts are reactionaries, they want to return to the false memory of pristine past where what they say goes.

The basis of the problem is that years ago Congress turned much of the regulatory law making over to unelected bureaucrats. Look up administrative law. Congress needs to fix this, but they won't. Congress talk but doesn't do the walk.

They will be the aristocracy of the Ancien Regime. We will be the sans culottes. We are on a path to Soviet totalitarianism but the path of Antonio Gramsci, not that of Stalin or Mao. Capitalism didn't comply with Marx's prediction and too many people lived too well. We have been reluctant to support the surrender of ownership of private property because too many of us accumulated too much property and we have grown to like it that way. But do you really own something if you don't control its use? To appease us on our path to totalitarianism, we are allowed the pretense of ownership while government gradually seizes the control via regulations executive order and engineered tax codes of every thing we can and cannot do with our wealth and property.

In this country, as far as I can tell, you will NEVER 'own' your property. You can pay of the mortgage or buy it outright but you will RENT IT FROM THE GOVERNMENT FOREVER !! If you know of 'another way' I'd love to hear about it. Otherwise your are caught just like the rest of us and never forget that they will REMOVE you from 'your property' AT GUNPOINT if necessary and sell you property it at auction for JUST the back taxes !!!

Former President Donald Trump has been much in the media in recent weeks, but not all or even most of the coverage has been favorable. Even so, he has stretched his lead against a field of potential Republican challengers significantly over the past month. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden’s lead against the Democratic field remains essentially the same, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. In the online poll, taken from May 3-5, we asked 703 Democrats and those leaning Democrat, and 469 Republicans and those leaning Republican who their preferred candidate would be. The margin of error for the Democratic sample was +/- 4.0

At the heart of all fearmongering over the debt ceiling “crisis” is the claim that if the federal government can’t borrow more money it won’t be able to pay interest on its existing debt, leading to a default. But that’s poppycock. The government will collect more than a trillion dollars over the next three months. (It collected $638 billion in taxes in April alone.) That will be more than enough to pay interest on the debt. And it will be enough to pay all Social Security benefits, Medicare and Medicaid bills, welfare checks, food stamps. There will even be enough

There’s always a lot riding on a showdown between a president and Congress over raising the federal debt ceiling to avoid a government shutdown. But this year, as the 2024 election year looms, the stakes are particularly high. That could be bad news for President Joe Biden, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, since his positions on debt, taxes and spending lack majority support even from Democratic voters. For our May online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken May 3-5 with a margin of error of +/-2.6 percentage points, we asked 1,480 adults across the country the following question:

After two years spent either ignoring the crisis at the southern border or refusing to blame President Joe Biden, the New York Times tepidly confessed this week that his border policies have, indeed, contributed to the surge in illegal immigration. Why now? In an email to subscribers, the Times senior writer David Leonhardt writes: When the U.S. makes it difficult for people to enter the country illegally, fewer people make the journey north to try. When the U.S. sends signals that people will be able to cross the border even without permission, and potentially remain here for years, more people attempt to do so. (Before you know it,

That’s 2.5 times the size of California’s annual budget. Recipients could rake in as much as $1.2 million each. Or more. Much more. Today, you’re not allowed to say a bad word about electric cars. They’re planet savers, after all. Environmentalists tell us so. But there will come a day — in the not-too-distant future — when the climate change fanatics will decide that EVs are planet killers, too. We’ve seen this bait-and-switch tactic before. Back in 2007, energy producers pumped money into environmental groups to promote natural gas. The Sierra Club used the funds to mount a “Beyond Coal” campaign touting the benefits of gas. Joe Romm, a climate advocate at the Center for American Progress, declared

Americans expecting a better economy to emerge three years after the COVID shutdowns will no doubt be disappointed by the first quarter’s GDP gain of just 1.1% with higher inflation. And it’s even worse than it looks. Of course, President Joe Biden denied the worsening news, saying, “Today, we learned that the American economy remains strong, as it transitions to steady and stable growth.” “Strong”? Really? No one believes that. As recently as late March, economists were looking for a first-quarter GDP growth number exceeding 3%. Instead, they got 1.1%, down from 2.6% in the fourth quarter and 3.2% in last year’s third quarter. See the trend?
